STRENGTHS

• Dual Turbolaser-Ionic Integration: The turbolaser battery combines laser and ion systems; its three-pulse burst carries an electromagnetic disruption payload, visualized by a faint blue halo around each pulse. It is extremely effective against shields and solid structures.
• Annihilation: Named as such in Mando'a, the Haran is an extremely powerful anti-capital ship weapon. An upgrade of already-destructive turbolaser technology, the Haran is capable of massive destruction both of enemy ships and of devastating orbital bombardment as well. Additionally, the turbolaser has a much longer effective range than standard models.
• Mandalorian-grade: The MTB-40 is an extremely sturdy and redundant design, plated with an impervium carbide coating and quadanium steel. Advanced systems enable efficient power generation, considering their size and damage output.

WEAKNESSES

• Enormous Emplacement: The turbolaser battery's size and power constraints prevent it from being installed on any craft smaller than a heavy cruiser (<800 meters).

DESCRIPTION
The MTB-40 Haran Heavy Turbolaser Battery is the Iron Covenant's Mandalorian-made upgrade of conventional turbolaser systems. Integrating laser and ion damage systems, the battery is extremely effective against shielding systems, electronics, as well as delivering a massive damage output.

Its centralized turbolaser core is a busy array of components. An agrocite crystal lattice is the center component of its turbolaser actuator, greatly increasing the base damage output of the supercompressed cesium gas used. Its multi-cell capacitator block provides ample storage for the large power draw of the weapon. A dual-part mirkanite-based gas supercompression chamber and an ionic cascade overcharge chamber are the other core components of the turbolaser's core.

The turbolaser has a quad-barrel design, arranged horizontally (perpendicular to the base) and grouped tightly together for a better-controlled spread. Each barrel has rifling-style plasma channeling grooves combined with electromagnetic coil accelerators that create a tighter bolt that does not dissipate energy nearly as quickly as standard turbolaser models. In addition, a sybarium crystal focusing lattice in the barrel even further enhances the power output and damage potential of each bolt. The lasers of the Haran have a distinct visual identity: red-white, braided, with a blue ionic halo. The turbolaser fires in a three-burst pattern.

Capable of dealing enormous penetrative damage that can overload ship defenses extremely quickly, the Haran is a terrifying anti-capital weapon. As a trade-off, it is ineffective against small craft; furthermore, the turbolaser emplacement is too large to be installed on ships smaller than conventional heavy cruisers. The multi-component advanced design of the turbolaser results in a lower-than-average rate of fire, even when the burst-fire pattern is considered. A "trade-up" of the weapon is that it eliminates the need for separate laser and ion weaponry.
