Work In Progress Mr. Usher's Grand Designs

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

SETTING INFORMATION
  • Spaceport Name: The Eidolon Vault
  • Location: Deep space, anchored to the corpse of a shattered moon orbiting a dead star system (undisclosed coordinates)
  • Affiliation: Mr. Usher, TBD Cultists
  • Classification: Stellar Class
  • Population: Moderately Staffed — composed entirely of hive-grown husks and recycled crew
  • Accessibility: Extremely hidden; hyperspace access is deliberately obfuscated by false navbuoy readings and electromagnetic interference. No public access. Located in a sensor-dead region of space.
  • Traffic: Insignificant — travel is limited to Mr. Usher’s vessels and parasite-marked cultists bearing tribute
  • Description:
The Eidolon Vault is a biotechnological cathedral-citadel, grown rather than built. Its jagged spires are formed from ossified marrowstone, pulsing veinlights, and soul-crystal nerve towers. From within, the Greater Ego of Mr. Usher offloads and archives memories, stores harvested consciousness, and draws Force power from enteched Force-sensitive victims.

POINTS OF INTEREST
  • The Choir Crucible: A submerged core chamber housing dozens of enteched Force-sensitives in soul-crystal lattices. Their pain and resonance are siphoned to empower Mr. Usher’s psychic extensions and rituals.
  • The Archive Spine: A twisting, living corridor of memory crystals embedded into bone-coral walls. Each crystal murmurs its contents and may be physically removed to access its full narrative.
  • The Obedience Well: A central pit used to anchor parasitic tetherings and warp rituals. Mr. Usher’s closest servants meditate here to amplify his presence across lightyears.
  • The Husk Forge: A spawning hall where new husks are gestated using stored biomass, blueprints, and occasionally edited memories absorbed from dead enemies.
  • Hall of Silence: A chamber lined with vacuum-sealed soul-crystals that no longer speak, preserved as trophies or condemned records.

SECURITY
Maximum
  • Autonomous Warrior-class husks patrol interior and exterior walls
  • Integrated sensory bio-organ clusters acting as anti-stealth observers
  • Massive Hulk-class husks serve as both siege platforms and guardians
  • Psychic alarm lattice: any unauthorized presence triggers mass hive activation
  • Localized null-fields to suppress Force signatures around critical chambers

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Constructed in the aftermath of the Ka’thaa’rahn Harvest, the Eidolon Vault represents the apex of Mr. Usher’s evolution. Forged from memory, marrow, and soul, it serves as both refuge and repository—a palace of forgotten pain and harvested potential. With the knowledge of Entechment absorbed from the Shatterlight conflict and the spiritual residue of Force-sensitive victims, Mr. Usher built the Vault to manage his ever-growing cognition and convert memory overload into power.

Now, from the Vault, he crafts new horrors, cultivates a cult, and refines parasitic conduits to expand his control across the galaxy. It is not only a place one enters. It is a place that remembers.

  • Notes: Typically deployed for structural demolition, biomass transportation, or heart anchoring.
  • Unit Name: The Usherborn
  • Affiliation: Mr. Usher
  • Classification: Specialized Hive Constructs – includes Commanders, Hunters, Siege Beasts, and Missionaries
  • Description:
The Usherborn are biomass constructs granted partial autonomy, selected from matured husks that survived multiple campaigns or unique gestation environments. While they remain psychically tethered to Mr. Usher’s hive-mind, they are empowered to make strategic decisions and communicate independently. Each one has grown into a distinct form, optimized for specific operations: war, infiltration, conversion, or annihilation.

COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Medium
  • Unit Availability: Rare
  • Unit Experience: Veteran
  • Equipment:
    • Alchemized biomass armor plating
    • Absorbed melee weapons formed from former prey
    • Implanted spore-filament comm relays
    • Organic scanner-pylons (heat, vibration, Force sensitivity)
    • Hive-pulse beacons (summon other husks)
  • Combat Function:
The Usherborn function as decentralized hive agents. Each type supports a different battlefield role:

  • Warrior: Command units that organize lesser husks, lead rituals, and coordinate assaults

  • Prowler: Infiltrators that seed corruption, scout enemy installations, or conduct biomass raids

  • Hulk: Mobile siege pillars that act as delivery and storage for other units
They require no food or rest, regenerate slowly from local biomass, and adapt to most combat environments.
  • Force Abilities (Force User Units Only):
Most Usherborn are Force-sensitive, possessing trace connections from the Nether Devil Host that connects them. Abilities include:
    • Hive Empathy (localized emotional suppression/instinct override)
    • Pain-based clairvoyance (short flashes of battlefield intent)
    • Psychic resonance with Whispergift parasites
Strengths:
  • Biological Adaptability: Can regenerate lost tissue from fatty/biomass reserves, absorb dead enemies for biomass, or repurpose battlefield materials
  • Hive Autonomy: Operate without real-time control from Mr. Usher, allowing complex deployment across distant worlds

Weaknesses:
  • Cognitive Instability: Prolonged autonomy can lead to mental distortion, arrogance, or memory loop fixation
  • Force Vulnerability: Without dedicated Force shielding, most are vulnerable to mental intrusion or purification techniques

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The first autonomous Usherborn were born in the aftermath of the Ka’thaa’rahn harvest—survivors of massive combat engagements that gestated further in the Eidolon Vault’s depths. Those that proved capable of executing orders creatively were granted greater independence. Each is imprinted with a fragment of the Greater Ego—sometimes a voice, sometimes a dream—and tasked with spreading Mr. Usher’s reach where his Eye cannot follow.

Some have become warlords in desolate zones. Others lead cults in his name. One guards the Choir Crucible alone, in complete silence. All of them dream in the same voice.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a small-scale, semi/Quasi-sentient parasite that links a host to Mr. Usher’s hive Force lattice, granting minor Force use in non Force sensitive characters and allowing remote communication—usable by cultists, allies, or test subjects.
  • Image Source: AI Generated via OpenAI.com
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: Inspired by Force-bond mechanics, Nether Devils, Mnggal-Mnggal D&D Warlock Patrons, and Sith alchemical bioforms

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Mr. Usher Mr. Usher (via Hive-grown alchemical vats)
  • Affiliation:
    Mr. Usher,
    Usherite Cultists,
Select PCs/NPCs granted access in roleplay

  • Production: Limited
  • Material: Alchemized tissue, micro-nerve tendrils, Force-conductive organic proteins

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Microscopic hive-grown parasite implanted near brainstem or spine
  • Grants limited Force capability by tapping into Mr. Usher’s enteched soul-crystal array
  • Provides telepathic two-way communication between host and Mr. Usher
  • Can be used by Mr. Usher to transmit messages, visions, or emotion-manipulating hallucinations pulses
  • Host develops unique visible mark or sigil at implant site
  • Mr. Usher can terminate the parasite at will, cutting off the Host from the Rorce lattice network

STRENGTHS
  • Force Access for Non-Users: Empowers baseline sentients with minor Force User Capabilities (illusions, Telekinesis, emotion sense, pain clarity, brief precognition, etc).
  • Cultist's Link: Creates a psychic link to Mr. Usher for guidance, coordination, and reinforcement.

WEAKNESSES
  • Coercive Bond: Mr. Usher can emotionally manipulate, attempt to overwhelm, or intimidate the Host remotely or sever the connection and kill the parasite remotely.
  • Tracked. Mr usher knows the location of any parasites tapping into his Force Network.
  • Vulnerable to Force Severance or Detection: Force users can detect the parasite and purge it with little effort.

DESCRIPTION
The Whispergift is the first symbiotic parasite distributed by Mr. Usher’s cult, the Choir Below. Engineered through Sith alchemy and sustained by the Eidolon Vault’s hive-core, it is microscopic, biologically sophisticated, and horrifyingly elegant. Once implanted near the spine or base of the skull, it fuses into the host’s neural web and acts as both conduit and conductor—drawing a sliver of Force energy from Mr. Usher’s entechment lattice and delivering it into the bearer.

Recipients often experience euphoric dreams, whispers of approval, and growing hunger for “instructions.” While many hosts interpret the parasite as a blessing, all are ultimately expendable. Mr. Usher can see through their eyes, speak through their thoughts, or annihilate the parasite with a psychic command. Only those who serve without question retain the gifts long-term.

Force effects are diverse but effective. A soldier may experience unflinching calm. A cultist might see lies as colored lights. An assassin may walk unnoticed. But all know: their gift is borrowed.

    The Eidolon Vault (Codex Submission)

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Religion Name: The Choir Below
  • Religion Type: Force-based Parasitic Monotheism
  • Influence: Interplanetary
  • Influence Area: Nar Shaddaa undercity, dead colonies, abandoned shrine worlds, remote Outer Rim spaceports
  • Symbol: A hollow mouth, split vertically, with echoing lines radiating downward like a vocal wave; commonly carved into bone, skin, or crystal
  • Description:
The Choir Below is a parasitic religion spread by Mr. Usher’s cultists and Husk missionaries. It offers “Endurance through Usefulness,” converting the hopeless and the power-hungry into vessels for Whispergift parasites that grant Force-like abilities and psychic communion with the Greater Ego. The Choir worships Mr. Usher as the Voice Behind Flesh, a divine amalgam of memory, hunger, and eternity.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Founder: Mr. Usher — considered by followers to be a divine being who “digests death and grants memory resurrection”
  • Membership:
Initiates are inducted through implantation of a Whispergift parasite, following a ritual called The Listening. New hosts undergo trance-like meditation while a cult elder places the parasite near the brainstem. Upon acceptance, the host begins to hear Mr. Usher’s voice, known as The Breath. Loyalty is tested over weeks, with full communion requiring total obedience.
  • Sacred:
    The Eidolon Vault (pilgrimage site)
The Whispergift itself (considered a holy communion)
Dead worlds and mass graves are treated as sacred lands for “choir birthings”
  • Dogma:
    “Endure through usefulness.”
“Extinction is failure. Submission is function.”
The Force is not a birthright, but a nutrient—a thing that may be given or revoked.
One’s soul belongs to the Voice that remembers.
Death is a choice. Utility is immortality.
  • Reputation:
Generally regarded as a dangerous cult or fringe death-worshippers by governments and Force Orders. Unknown in most of the Core. Feared in Outer Rim underworlds. Some undercity gangs use the Choir’s doctrine for recruitment or punishment.

MEMBERS

Mr. Usher – Deity, Host of the Choir

“Echo-Priests” – NPCs or PCs who spread the Whispergift and administer implantations

“Harmonic Speakers” – Cultists who have merged multiple parasites and act as seers or mental hubs.

Usherborn NPC Units – some serve as divine avatars or enforcers to keep local flocks in line.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Choir Below began as a side-effect of Mr. Usher’s Whispergift experimentations—created to test remote control, emotional modulation, and hive-linked telepathy in non-Force users. Over time, implanted subjects began hearing echoes of Mr. Usher’s thoughts even when unprovoked. Those driven to madness were reabsorbed. Those who thrived were cultivated.

As more survived and adapted to the voice, an internal logic emerged—one of endurance through surrender. Mr. Usher allowed the religion to formalize, feeding it forgotten memories, dead languages, and soft nightmares. The Eidolon Vault accepted its first pilgrim soon after the harvest of Ka’thaa’rahn, and the Choir Below was born.

It now spreads in shadows—where people seek purpose, where pain outweighs pride, where Force-sensitivity is envied but out of reach.

They come, they kneel, they listen.

And he speaks.
