Morellian Mechanica is primarily a weapons foundry located on Thrantin, founded by Morellian gunslinger and peacekeeping Judge of the Outer Rim, Sheriff Zyre. Zyre founded the company with the intent of producing weapons for galactic peacekeepers like himself, who find that even with all the newfangled technology of the galaxy, sometimes the old ways are the best ways. With few exceptions, Mechanica products emphasize stopping power and reliability over volume of fire or high capacity, and while slugthrowers are not the only weapons they produce, they do tend to dominate the company's catalogue. While weapons make up a large part of Mechanica's products, they do provide a limited selection of armor, vehicles, and even a few starships.
With its owner being a lawman himself, Morellian Mechanica prides itself on conducting business with those on the right side of the law; each prospective buyer is subjected to a rigorous background check to ensure they are morally upstanding galactic citizens. Morellian Mechanica is not opposed to fulfilling private requests if someone's needs are not met by their existing stock, and such custom requests are often delivered with a handwritten note from Zyre himself. Though Zyre's carefully selected board of directors is responsible for most of the operations of the company, he is known to personally meet with the leaders of organizations seeking to do business with Morellian Mechanica.
RATIONALE
Sheriff Zyre founded Morellian Mechanica himself, using resources and contacts gained during his time as a Judge of the Outer Rim. While he would have liked to set up shop on his homeworld he found Morellia far too close to Warlords of the Sith territory for his liking and sought an alternative, eventually settling on Thrantin, a planet terraformed hundreds of years ago by a Morellian Enforcer to set up a scouting school. After sitting down with Galactic Alliance officials, the planet's ruling government at the time, they came to a mutual agreement and Zyre was allowed to set up shop on the world. Once the foundation was laid, Zyre personally selected a board to run the company, as he was by no means a businessman, just a lawman with an idea and connections.
