Akaito fell and hit the ground hard and began to cry. The young 3 year old was swept up into is loving mother's arms and she had a gift to making him laugh, That smile, her smile, it was would be his only memory form this era of his life.

After the tears had left, Akaito returned to playing with some of the younger children. Akaito didn't speak much because he had a bit of a speech impediment that would change with age, but for now he stuttered when he spoke. His friends were playing tag and now Akaito was it and from the point of view from someone watching, Akaito's big and joyful smile was all he wore on his face besides that normal glow of dirt of course. He then heard a horn and all the kids stopped thinking it was a new game and looking around excitedly. The horn sounded again, but now there were more. Akaito's mom came rushing out, "AKAITO!!!!!!"

"M-m-mommy,i-i-is it a g-g-game?" Akait came running to his mommy and even though he didn't understand, he was scared. His mother picked him up and took him inside, "Honey, you need to hide, please stay n the celler until I come get you. " "b-b-but -m-m-mommy, I want to s-s-stay with you!!!!" Akaito began to cry and his mother's eyes soon joined him. He was put in the cellar as he heard his father enter the house and speak with a muffled tone, but Akaito could hear the words 'sand' and 'people.' Akaito continued to cry as loud sounds came all around him, but nothing came in his house and he could not hear his parents. After a hour or so, Akaito had awoken as all the crying had made him fall asleep. He climbed the stairs and opened the cellar door.

Akaito was in a whole new world, but a terrible one where everything that was once brown was now black and orange came from the black in some areas. Akaito crawled out of the basement, "M-m-mommy? D-d-daddy, Where are y-y-you?" Akaito's eyes began to fill with tears as he left his house in search of his parents and seeing many of the friends he was just playing with now sleeping on the ground and they had new black circles and kept sleeping when Akaito would try to wake them. Akaito felt lost in the silence.

Hawk and few buddies had just finished their first year in flight training. Hawk wasn't sure if he was going to go back to school in the fall. With his natural flying abilities, he felt ready to begin working. One of the guys suggested that they go to Tatoonie to celebrate. Hawk jumped at the chance. Tatoonie was known for being rough around the edges. Hive for smugglers. Jabba the Hutt lived here. This was his chance to work for Hutt.

They landed in Mos Eisley spaceport went to some dive bar and party the night away. Once it was daybreak, Hawk left his buddies to go for his meeting. He rented a landspeeder and took me off to Jundland Waste.

In the distance, Hawk spots black smoke. He felt compelled to check it out. The scene made him feel sick to his stomach. All the death and bodies. He fought himself to keep from vomiting.

He stops his landspeeder in front of crumbling building. A small boy was crawling out. Hawk jumps out the speeder. Poor kid. "Hey kid." He says softly not wanting to scare him

"M-m-mommy? P-p-papa, where are y-y-you?" Akaito was crying now and then he saw the man and his crying became silent and he ran away from the man hiding his his charred house that was still burning a little. Akaito had never seen a speeder before and this man was dressed like no one he had seen before. He hid in fear away from the man hoping he would not be hurt.

"Kid don't run. I won't hurt you. I promise." He calls out to the little boy as he ran away. Damn. He didn't want to chase him. Hawk frowns slightly as he walks carefully through the wreckage. "It going to be ok." He had lost sight of kid. "My name is Hawk. What is yours?" He says hoping the kid would give himself away.

Akaito shivered in fear as he hid behind a burnt pillar and could see the man coming in. He did not reply or reveal himself until a piece of the roof fell near him and he ran back outside in fear and hid behind the speeder. Akaito then looked around seeing bodies again, but these ones clearly didn't look like they were sleeping, they were missing limbs and Akaito let out a scream of horror, but could not move.

Hawk thought he saw a blur when the little boy ran behind the speeder. Hawk was about to go to the speeder when the kid let out a scream that could wake up the dead.

Hawk rushes over to him. He kneels down and embraces Akaito. "Shh it is going to be ok. I won't let anything happen to you."

In light of the situation and Akaito being three, he forgot to be scared of the man and his in his arms from the death outside and cried. After a few moments Akaito spoke with his speech embodiment stronger than ever due to the situation. "M-m-m-omm-m-my?! P-p-pa-p-p-pa?! I-I-i-I'm s-s-scarted." Akaito kept crying and hugging the man wishing this game to be over and everyone to be fine again.

Hawk glances around as he comforts the little boy. "Shhhh I won't let anything bad happen to you. I promise" Hawk didn't want to tell the kid that mommy and papa were dead. "My name is Hawk. What is your sport?"

Akaito came to and backed away, scared of the man again, but not running. "A-a-a-akaito, y-y-y-you did t-t-this? no h-h-h-hurt!" As if he hadn't cried enough already his eyes continued to well up at the site of the man as he looked and sounded like no one he had ever met before. A building beam from a near by burning building fell aiming for Akaito and near the beam also lay Akaito's parents.

"Hi Akaito. No, I ddint do this. Looks to me like the Sandpeople did this". Hawk saw the beam falling for the kid. Hawk grabs the kid away just in time.

Keeping his grip on kid, Hawk carries him to his speeder and sits him in it. "I'm hungry? Are you hungry? Let's go get something to eat." Hawk wanted to get out of here before anything else happen.

Akaito's eyes widened as he was picked up quickly and a crashing sound came from where he was and he looked to see his dead parents. He had nothing left in him for crying and knew they were dead even at that young age. His mind, unable to cope with this, released chemicals to induce sleep in him as he feel into a deep sleep.

Hawk jumps into his speeder. He glances at Akaito. Poor kid cried himself asleep. Now what was he going to do. He switches the speeder on and goes back to Mos Eisley. There was no way he was going to his meet with Jabba with a kid. Frak! He sends a message stating he had speeder problems and could the meeting be reschedule for the next day.

Akaito stayed asleep for the duration of the ride. Shortly after Hawk made his call, the Hutt replied with no rescheduling or he would lose the deal. Once they were far away from Akaito's home, he began to waken and was unsure where he was or what was going on. He began to move and try to get free, but at the speed they were going he was smart enough not to jump off, but he did not want to be there.

Hawk was torn. He knew he shouldn't bring Akaito to the meeting. He couldn't afford to lose this meeting. How much trouble could a three year get in. He glances down at the boy.

"Akaito.. I have a meeting to go before we get something to eat. Have you ever seen or met a Hutt?" He turns the speeder around and heads to Jabba's Palace. He frowns slightly at the time. He pushes the lever to increase their speed even more.

In the Galaxy there was something called the Force. There was a dark side and light side and even with all the advancements, the Force was still a mystery. Today, the Force saw Akaito and Hawk and showed compassion. It filled the young Akaito's mind and blocked the memory of his parents and their death until it would resurface at an age where he was ready to handle it. It chose Hawk to be Akaito's father and gave him the fake memories that he had always been with Hawk. "H-h-Hutt? I-I don't know P-papa.." It was a strange pairing, a innocent kid and a smuggler, but the Force had plans for the two and they needed each other more than they knew. Akaito was now calm and sitting still on Hawk's lap as they went to the Palace.

Hawk raises an eyebrow at Akaito calling him papa. Guess he was a father now. Great that what he always wanted to be 17 years old father. Poor kid had nothing. Hawk didn't have it in his heart to abandon the kid at some orphanage. There it is..he was papa now.

"Hutts are big slimy worms" he says describing them to Akaito. "We have to be very respectful. Because they are very powerful. Jabba is going to gives a job. So you must be very quiet and let me do all the talking ok sport."
