SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Utilizes counter rotating barrels to help maintain accuracy by canceling out the torque.

  • Detonation types vary by [SIZE=10pt]shell[/SIZE], with ball bearing utilizing proximity, solid slug and high explosive detonate on impact, with electromagnetic being a timed detonation.

Strengths:

Weaknesses:

  • Sianium[SIZE=10pt]: Utilizing Aurora Industries’ sianium[/SIZE] power is not without its drawbacks, the power generator may become vulnerable to overheating/misfire should the automated programming go awry.
DESCRIPTION

A new generation of Mogh hypervelocity cannons, this one coming in two modes the rotary cannon or the fixed cannon. Both modes still utilized the forty-millimeter shells, with rotary making use of the depleted-[SIZE=10pt]baradium casings and the fixed using deplete- [/SIZE]baradium solid shells. The shells were created specifically for this cannon with two of shells utilizing impact detonation. Electromagnetic making use of timed detonations, ball bearing shells make use of proximity detonations, and both solid slugs and high explosive detonate on impact.

It spews upwards of up to 1500 rounds per minute creating a field of flak [when using the default ball bearing shell] that can prove difficult for even some of the more season pilots. Cannon's barrels becomesfixed when utilizing the solid slug, an ammunition scanner runs an internal check to ensure that solid slugs are loaded. Once the scanner confirms solid slugs are loaded, the barrels are locked into position. This then allows the cannon to use a stutter fire mode in which to fire, stutter fire mode offers the highest stopping power at the lowest rate of fire, highest recoil and lowest reload time.

Drawbacks of the Mogh include the timed cooldown periods. Seasoned pilots may be able to recognize the firing pattern and formulate their attacks. Taking advantage of the opportunity to attack either the ship/platform/station that the Mogh is attached [SIZE=10pt]to or attacking the Mogh outright. It also maintains the typical weaknesses for most [/SIZE]sianium power generators. Overheating /misfires caused either by uneducated gun crews or being hit with an ion/emp weapon, or kinetic weaponry. Which may lead to fatal results depending on circumstances.

Update: Changed components, eliminating the ion/emp weakness.
