Intent: To create a combat suit of armour for Firemane troops and to put on the market, based on the personal suit of armour that was designed for Tegaea Alcori while she was CEO of Omega Pyre. It is intended to be efficient and cost-effective, without using restricted materiels.

Description: Combat armour has developed in many ways since the Clone Wars, but most designs offer little protection against lightsabres and heavy weapons. The immense upheavals that have taken place for [insert number of years] since the end of the Four Hundred Year Darkness have seen a surge in designs that utilise materiel such as phrik and cortosis to allow elite soldiers to fight force-users more efficiently.
In the early days of Omega Pyre, before its transition to the Protectorate, when it was still a corporate state, then-CEO Tegaea Alcori had a suit of armour commissioned for her personal use. In that time she led many combat operations in person and so she needed practical armour. The Omnicron Tactical Assault Armour was built to provide protection against the harshest environments, good defence against common weapons and manoeuvrability through a jetpack, but with little defence against lightsabres.
As the Pyre became a government and Tegaea ascended to the office of Exarch she had no use for it and so it was left in her storage. Eventually she became Lady Protector before being forced to resign after an attempt on her life and subsequently founded Firemane Industries.
With their new company on the rise Siobhan and Tegaea decided to create a suit based on the latter's old armour, but modified in order to allow wider production and updated. It is supposed to protect infantry while still allowing a reasonable degree of mobility. The armour is intended to be able to resist small arms fire, shrapnel, environmental hazards and provide low resistance to lightsabres. While the latter are becoming increasingly utilised in combat, as seen in the new Sith conflicts, adding materiel such as phrik would have significantly increased the cost and not allowed wider production.
It is expected to be utilised by Firemane mercenaries along with being sold on the market. Presumably certain units of the Angelii, the force-using elite guard of the Eldorai, will likewise utilise it, since their traditional armour lags behind galactic standards.

- Duraplast offers protection against laser cannons, verpine shattergun rounds, medium slug rounds, light grenades and to a limited extent against lightsabres. The duraplast is reinforced for the shoulder pauldrons, knee pauldrons, gauntlets and helmet. Reinforced duraplast ensures that the HUD electronics of the helmet and other internal systems are resistant against EMP and ion weapons.
- Like the parent model the suit is very mobile and easy to move in. The wearer can move almost as freely as without when it is properly fitted.
- It provides a strong defence against common weapons and environmental hazards.
- Designed to work excellently with the Omega Boltgun, providing stability and aim.
Weaknesses:
- Does not grant additional protection or speed.
- Cumbersome to get in and out of.
- Little resistance against lightsabres, so engaging lightsabre-wielders at close range is very ill-advised.
- Likewise it offers no protection against esoteric techniques such as mental attacks, being designed with conventional warfare in mind.
Moreover, as a tradeoff for broader production certain sacrifices had to be made compared to the parent model, meaning that the Firemane variant has less features:
- Does not have a jetpack. This significantly decreases the weight and cost, but also means a reduced tactical flexibility for the wearer.
- The original allowed Tegaea to mount weapon systems and devices (up to two), such as a single-use flamethrower, a dart launcher for subduing targets, a vibroknife and a holoprojector and commlink with surface to orbit transceiver. This variant neither supports a flamethrower nor a dart launcher.

Other Feature(s):
- A holoprojector and a commlink with surface to orbit transceiver and vibroknife can be mounted on the wrists (one for each arm).
- Helmet contains voice controlled HUD with different views (night, infrared, thermal), also contains data display and access to internal processor. All of this is voice controlled with no ‘intelligent’ features. Helmet also contains surface to orbit transmitting commlink.
- Suit contains air tank holding thirty minutes oxygen.
- Spare clips, rations and so forth can be stored in leg pouches or around the belt. The standard loadout consists of two grenades on one leg, spare blaster pistol clip on the other, two boltgun clips and three day's rations around the belt.
- Boots can be magnetised to ensure zero-gravity movement, also enhance ability to resist heavy winds or telekinetic pulls. The last ability is obviously limited against more experienced force-users.
