Description: While his Katarn MkIII Night Ops armor has served him well for many years, Kurayami felt that it was getting to be unnecessary as he was looking to stay out of combat as much as possible now, this led to his designing the Mk. 4 Expeditionary Armor. While not actively seeking out engagements, he knew that should one arise that he would still need a decently protective armor. This lead to the development of a lighter armor that could still provide high resistance to heat, kinetic strikes, and blaster weaponry.
To this end he utilized a duraplast and crystadurium alloy for the helmet, gauntlets, and plates of the armor. The bodysuit is made from reinforced shell spider silk. There are also kneepads made from the same material as the plates and armor sections to provide coverage for the boots(similar to the clone commado boots).
The helmet contains an enhanced optics suite (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Enhanced_optics_suite), encrypted Holonet access, encrypted communications, sound suppression/amplification, electrobinoculars capable of 25x zoom, atmospheric filtration, a rebreather, EMP hardening, a 360degree HUD and the ability to be environmentally sealed to the suit.
The function of the armor is to provide a solid defensive capability while allowing for greater mobility. The enhanced sensors and optical suites are geared for exploration or reconnaissance moreso than combat, but can serve ably in both roles.
