Mission to the Darkside (Kixi)

Kixi would very much miss what happened next. She lay unconscious on the cold floor, her body mostly lay still, but still gave the occasional twitch on an arm, hand or leg due to spasms running down her nervous system, due to the impact to her head.

Next thing she knew she was getting carried aboard the transport/shuttle by her master. She could barely open her eyes and her voice was soft and weak.

"What hap, happened?"

Kiki would ask weakly. George would then explain his brief battle with the scientist who was now dead, and that he had the flask with him.

"No Master, we must destroy the entire lab, the asteroid. The flask contains just a part of it."

Kixi was extremely weak, she barely could keep her eyes open, let alone speak.

"I have an idea. When we get back to the recycling and garbage asteroid, once we are on board the cargo transport with all the workers etc, after departing, use the little gadget attached to my wrist brace to de-cloak the Arkhan and then slave it to the cargo ship. With the same device on my wrist, you can fire all the missiles from the Arkhan to the asteroid. It should cause it to become unstable and even explode."

Kixi would indicate for George to lift her left arm up since she was too weak to even do that herself. He did so as she explained how to operate the device step by step. George was a quick learner and Kixi hoped he would pick it up, as the whole little interface on her wrist would not be familiar to George. It wasn't even in Basic.

"My head hurts badly Master. I can feel it. I feel the small fracture on my skull. You must hurry. After you're done, see if anyone, the defecting scientists, the workers can stop the swelling on my head. If not, I may not make it."

With those words, Kixi would once again slip into unconscious. The two Imperial men plus the pilot that Kixi had stunned earlier and bound up had by now woken up. They laughed at her and one made a mocking comment.

"Good you little lesbian Kerr. You got what you deserved."

He then looked up at George and said one last thing. He would show no remorse on his face.

"I hope she dies slowly and painfully."

As George carried Kixi she regained consciousness for a few moments, long enough to tell George of her plan. "Alright so its like a remote? You use it to control your ship... Seems easy enough." George replied with his own understanding of Kixi's complex technology. As she continued George's heart sank. She was in pain and felt herself slipping away. "You are not dying today Kixi, hold on. I'll find help." The last words he spoke to Kixi before she once again fell back into unconsciousness.

As they made it back to the shuttle the two imperial officers and the pilot had now woken up. As George entered carrying Kixi in his arms one of the officers had the cheek to make a comment about Kixi's condition, follow by another malicious comment. "You better watch youself mate, unless you want to end up unconscious I would shut up." George replied, his face like a lion ready to attack, he meant business. "Oh yeah? What are you going to do? Kill an unarmed person? No didn't think so." The officer felt so confident in his words, although he was right, he didn't have to know it yet. George placed Kixi spread over a few chairs, letting her lay down as he strapped her in making sure she was secure before reaching in and grabbing one of his lightsabers. He ignited the blue blade and faced it towards the mouthy officer. "Is that so? Who is going to tell the Jedi that I killed three unarmed people? You? No you'll be dead. She is unconscious, that leaves me. Do you think I care? No." George replied as he slowly walked over to the men. "The Jedi code bounds you to it, you can't kill us, you'll be exiled, you'll be nothing." The officer couldn't help himself, his mouth ran faster than water. George walked up next to him, although he was mouthy, he was scared, scared that George wasn't really a Jedi, but a hunter, someone who doesn't play by the rules. George brought this hilt up next to his face, as if he was about to strike him down. The sweat was pouring out of the officer as George lined him up. He swung back and came in with a smashing blow. But not with his lightsaber, he extinguished it punching him in the face and knocking him out once more. "Unless you want to end up like your friend here I would shut your damn mouths alright." George offered a final warning to the other two staff in there as George took to the helm as he flew the ship back to where the works were gathering.

As George would hurry up to fly the shuttle to the other asteroid to the awaiting cargo ship, Kixi's eyes would open and close in an out of consciousness. George was in the cockpit flying at this stage. Kixi could see the Imperials she had stunned earlier not too far from her. One appeared to still be unconscious. He was the one that George had knocked out moments earlier for blabbering on while Kixi was unconscious so she didn't see George hit him. The other two just starred at Kixi. Both had huge smiles on their faces as they saw Kixi's pain.

Just then one of the defected scientists approached Kixi. She had told George that she would volunteer to help Kixi. Gently she knelt down in front of her and gently placed her hand on Kixi's head. Turning it slightly she could see the point of impact. Where the sharp edge of the table had hit her. She called over to the other male assistant who had also defected to get her some sort of hydro spray from the med kit. Then she would slowly administer it on Kixi's head. Slowly the swelling would stop. Then after that it would slowly begin to go down. Kixi would still be in a bad state, however her life threatening part of the injuries were at least stabilised for now. The female scientist assistant then picked Kixi up slowly, and held her in her arms. Kixi had been shaking due to coldness. The scientist was trying to keep her warm. Kixi now conscious, but still too weak to move on her own or even talk just stood still in the woman's arms. The warmth of her body kept her warm and comfortable despite her massive headache. The two conscious imperials kept starring at her and although they were holding their laughter in, Kixi could see they were still laughing at her. Then one would make a comment once more.

"You older lady."

He was clearly referring to the female scientist holding Kixi in her arms.

"You are a traitorous scumbag. You help that Jedi scum. You should've let the girl die, it's what she deserves. It's not too late you know. Snap her neck while you easily can and release us."

Yet the woman refused to respond as the two men would continue with their insults. By now George had arrived at the other asteroid. It was time to board the cargo ship, slave the Arkhan to it, and blow the weapons lab asteroid up. He walked out of the cockpit to find Kixi in the older female scientist's arms and the other two Imperial officers still throwing further insults at Kixi.

As George came in for the landing he was concentrated on what has happening in the cockpit, not what was going outside. As the ship landed he immediately opened the ship up, allowing the ramp to lower at which time two defectors entered the ship immediately attending to Kixi's injuries. As George did the final adjustments to the ship making sure it was beyond fixing the ship would no longer fly, not that it bothered George, he had a transport waiting outside.

As George came through to the main section of the ship where Kixi was and the officers they had tied up earlier. He heard the voices of the scumbags that were tied up. Running their mouth like there was no tomorrow, well in this case it didn't seem like they had a tomorrow. As George entered the room they looked at him and their mouths closed, seeing what had been done to their friend before they quickly decided it was best to remain silent. But it was too late, George head all he need to. "Really? You guys just can't keep your mouths closed aye?" George stood over them looking at them. Neither responded. George was tempted to knock the both of them out as well, but decided against it, they had more pressing matters to attend to.

George quickly moved over to where Kixi lay. "How is she doing?" George asked as the defectors worked on Kixi's swollen head. "She's stable, but this is a very serious head injury, we need to get her to better medical attention right away." George looked at them, his face showing the pain he was in from hearing that. "Understood, get her across to the transport." George was now issuing orders again, this time to imperial defectors? That was quick. "Kixi hang in there, its almost over. We will destroy this lab and all of the virus inside." George placed his hand on her shoulder letting her feel the warmth of her friend who stood right beside her.

As the defectors helped Kixi out of the shuttle George followed a few paces behind. However as he went to step out, the boisterous officers decided they wanted to speak again. "Yeah get off my ship you filthy mutt." The pilot spoke aloud hoping that George didn't really hear him, but you know what they say... Mutts have great hearing and so did George. "Excuse me what?" George replied as he took a step back into the shuttle. "He said get off our ship you filthy mutt." The other officer replied as the pilots face went pale, he was scared, and angry, he didn't want George to hear what he said, but his friend didn't catch onto that bit. "I've had enough of you people talking. You want me to leave, it will be with your teeth as a prize." George walked over to them slowly. "No, no, please don't hurt us, we didn't mean any of it. You're not a mutt." The pilot said cowering behind anything he could find, avoiding all eye contact with George. "Fine, you guys enjoy your stay, here is a knife, if you can reach it you might survive the explosion." George tossed them a rusty knife towards them, it landed only a few feet away, but it was just enough, they still couldn't reach it.

George turned his back and walked out, keeping tabs on their progress through the force. He exited the ship and made for the transport. It was time to get this show on the right. As he walked in he spoke to one of the other defectors. "Everyone on? We're going now." George spoke as the woman nod her head in response. A small smile appeared on his face as he made his way to the med bay. "Kixi we're ready, can I take your device to the cockpit or is it permanently attached?" George wasn't quite sure as he had never encountered such technology. He awaited a response, one that would decide his next move.

As Kixi was taken to a small med lab onboard the cargo ship, the rest of the proceedings would now be up to George to fulfill. Kixi's head still hurt, she felt cold and weak and her speech was still impaired somewhat. As George entered the lab to see her, Kixi felt some warmth. She had wanted to hug him with open arms, but could barely move. He had one last thing to do and he needed Kixi's wrist brace command interface device to do it.

"Yeah Master, it's attached to me. It's chemistry had joined to my body in a bonding meld after I put it on. You'll have to smash my head in and kill me so it automatically detaches itself from a dead corpse. Or you can cut my arm off and take it wth the whole arm."

Kixi looked like she was half dead, but never lacked a sense of humour as she burst into laughter. Then she stopped laughing as that turned to violent caughing. Her laughter caused her fragile injured body more pain than expected. However she would soon get herself together again.

"What I said was true, all of it, however I can voluntarily take it off and thus none of those terrible things will be necessary."

Kixi then took the device from her wrist. It made a weird soft hissing sound as the device detached and unbounded itself from Kixi's skin.

"Here you go. Oh and please take good care of my ship when you bring it in and make this wretched place go kaboom."

Kixi would end off the sentence with wink of her eye and a half grin.

With George entering the med room it was clear that Kixi was in a bad place. She could barely move after the damaged she had received inside the lab. However this didn't affect her humour. As George asked about her wrist brace that housed the device George would use to slave Kixi's ship to the transport, she replied in typical Kixi fashion. Sarcastically. Detailing the ways the device could be removed George looked disappointed as he started thinking of a new idea, as taking the device to the cockpit seemed like a dangerous task. But as normal Kixi gave George another way. "Oh your funny Kixi." George replied as she handed over the device. With a little smirk on her face. George smiled and brushed her hair back as he prepared to head back up to the cockpit. "You'll be fine Kixi, its almost over. I'll get you out of here." He said giving her a little kiss on the head before leaving. He tried to stay positive, but Kixi was in a bad way. George couldn't move past that. But he had to put it at the back of his mind in order to get this mission done.

As George entered the cockpit he looked around getting to know his new system. As he sat down he placed Kixi's device on the bench in reach for when he needed it. "Attention, we are about to lift off. Please hold on and make sure all loose objects are stable." George called over the ships coms unit. Reaching every room in the ship. Moments later the engines were on and the ship began to move. The transport was quite large so he took it slow to begin with. As he got it off the ground he hovered for a moment as he turned his attention to Kixi's device. The words were running through his head, all the directions on how to use the machine. He slowly imputed the commands for the fighter. Slowly but surly the fighter came closer to connecting with the transport. Soon enough it was attacked just above the cockpit, giving George a good perspective of the fighters target. As he resumed control of the transport he began moving it away from the lab. He turned to face it before firing the torpedoes from Kixi's fighter and watched as they honed in on their targets. Soon enough the torpedoes disappeared followed by large explosion, one that could be felt in the cockpit of the transport. "Kixi... Its done." He spoke to her through the force, letting her know how it it was going.

As the explosion engulfed the space around the moon destroying not only the lab but all the other small developments around it. It was time to get moving. George set a course for Voss where he would decide on what to do with what seemed to be a ship full of imperial prisoners. The ship jumped to hyperspace and George moved back down to the med lab to be beside Kixi.

Kixi heard the message George had sent to her via telepaphy through the Force telling her it was done. Mission complete. Although she would've known anyway as the explosion and destruction of the asteroid lab and facilities around it sent plenty of ripples through the Force. Although hurting, she could finally relax again. She closed her eyes and breathed slowly and calmly. Once George entered a course for Voss and they had entered into hyperspace, he returned to the med lab to be by Kixi's side. He sat beside her and held her hand as he slowly brushed her hair back again. Kixi would then open her eyes and give him a warm gentle smile.

"Please stay with me Master for as much as you possibly can. I will need you to do one thing for me perhaps in around 30 minutes or so. See that Sajnen comms device I still have attached to my belt, I want you to activate it. It is pre-programmed to dial the Ueshiba. I'll show you how to do it once you pull it out."

George would then follow the instructions Kixi had given him and Kixi would demonstrate what he needed to do.

"A small wormlike portal will open when someone on the otherside answers it. It is quite an advanced device as it will work in hyperspace to make the connection. Then ask for Mako and tell her what happened. Just please use the right words. We don't want to panic her nor anyone else from my crew. Then ask her, and only her to come to Voss. I want her to be with me by my side when......"

Kixi would then cut her own sentence off not really knowing how to say the next part.

"Master I suppose I can't willingly ask you to not tell the Jedi Assembly of my extra-galactic origins, nor my connection to Lord Xiz'Jhan as his former First Prime, nor my involvement in the creation of biological weapons in my dask past? If they must know, I want Mako to be by my side when they are told. She is why I am who I am today. Not only did I meet the love of my life, but she showed me the light, she showed me where my true path lies. The path of the Jedi. However that part perhaps could be a story to tell you for another time."

George could feel Kixi's soft breathing as she spoke. It felt weak, but she was certainily stable now.

"Of course there is another way. We could always come back to my ship and we can voluntarily have those memories of me ever telling you any of that removed? Then all you will ever know is that Lord Xiz'Jhan exists, that he is a threat to us all and that he as far as we know, is going to attack from the unknown regions of the galaxy in around a decade or so from now."

Kixi would turn her head slightly to face George, as previously she was just starring up the ceiling while she was speaking. She chuckled at the same time knowing he most likely wouldn't even like the mention of Kixi's idea.

"I know you won't like the latter of what I just said, but I thought I would mention it anyway. If such a thing were done though, you wouldn't be technically lying to the the Assembly, as technically you will no longer have any knowledge of the events in question. But it's okay if you don't want to Master. I'll accept whatever you decide to do. Just please limit the people that are told if you do so and make certain it stays confidential and within the walls of who is present."

Kixi would take one long deep breath in and out.

"And Mako must be present by my side when I am with you at the Assembly and you inform them, assuming you don't choose to wipe those memories out that is."

Kixi then would drop her head back on her pillow and stare back at the ceiling above her with George still holding her hand. A tear or two could be seen coming out of her eyes. She would now wait for what George would have to say regarding the whole situation.

With the ship now in hyperspace one would think it was time to relax... Wrong, George head back to the med bay where Kixi lay. He sat up beside her stroking her hair as she seemed to be sleeping. Moments after she awoke. She gave George some instructions to contact her crew, and most importantly Mako. "I can do that for you Kixi." George replied as Kixi continued with what she wanted to tell Mako. There was going to be no easy way to tell Mako that Kixi was in trouble. No way to make it less painful than it is, George had to hope the words he spoke to her came out the way he wanted them and that she understood that her dear Kixi was alright.

"You are right Kixi, I can not lie to the Assembly, that is for certain. But retaining the truth, I can do that. If they don't ask about it I won't tell them." George responded as Kixi spoke about her past life and the worries she had with this information being known to the Assembly. However she then had another idea. This one George definitely didn't like. "I can't do that Kixi, I can't just throw away everything I know about you like that. That information stems out into many other areas, and removing that would leave me very much lost. Stuff I use to know gone with no way of remembering. You must know how that feels. You must understand where I am coming from." George replied slightly defensively. However she knew that George wouldn't have liked that idea, but still wanted to give the option. She did however have one request. She wanted the list of people who knew small. As small as possible, that was something George understood. "Only the people who need to know, will. You have my word." George replied to her as he held her hand with both of his. Grasping her tightly.

She also wanted Mako by her side when they convened with the Assembly. George disliked the thought of having an outsider present, but couldn't say no to Kixi at this stage. "I'll do my best to make sure that happens Kixi, but ultimately it is up to the rest of the Assembly to decide." George replied offering a half smile, trying to keep the positive nature in the room. George looked at Kixi as she looked at the ceiling, small tears started forming in her eyes, the sadness outweighed the positive thus leaving everyone a little sadder.

Kixi had known all too well that George wouldn't have accepted a memory wipe. His reasons were perfectly valid too. Kixi herself would've felt awkward about it had he actually said yes, so in the end it was for the better that he had said no as expected. While George continued to hold her hand with both of his at her bedside, Kixi would inevitably fall asleep not long after. George would then proceed to contact Mako via Kixi's unique communicatin device.

The trip back was just under two days through hyperspace. Kixi would sleep thoughtout the remainder of the duration. In fact Mako would arrive on Voss long before they did on her own. The Ueshiba that Mako commanded at Kixi's absent was situated a lot closer to Voss than where the cargo ship that both George and Kixi were on at the time she was notified, plus her own personal ship she used to get from the Ueshiba and Voss was a relatively quick one.

Eventually they would arrive on Voss. However Kixi would not wake up. It had appeared that she had slipped into a coma. Her head injuries were worse than anticipated. The defecting scientist woman had managed to help her by stopping the swelling, however she nor anyone had access to the proper equipment to fully stop the swelling. Kixi would now require immediate life saving surgery, and she was fortunately at the right place for that.

Mako awaited the arriving cargo ship which had had the Arkhan slaved to it. Upon seeing Kixi laying still on a hoversled, Mako immediately ran to her to be by her side and began to be very hysterical at the sight of seeing her love in the condition that she was in. George was also at Kixi's side as they, and an awaiting med crew, plus several other Jedi present made their way to the medical centre.

Several hours would pass before Kixi was released from surgery. Kixi would be asleep for a while longer before being transferred to a bacta tank. Now awake, but equipped with complex breathing apparatus, she would remain in the tank for almost a week. She would in fact sleep and be fed while suspended in the liquid of the bacta. Finally she was to be discharged. She would be cleaned up by the med staff and dressed in fresh clothing. Now almost fully recovered, she sat upright on her bed as her first lot of visitors, George and Mako would come to see her. In fact George would bring in another visitor with him. Little Nena Ka which along with seeing Mako would bring a huge smile on Kixi's face.

As George continued to hold Kixi's hand it seemed that it soothed her enough to put her to sleep. Although it was more likely due to the stress on her body and it had to recharge. With that George took the device from Kixi and left the room, heading to a segregated room to make the private holo call. As George initiated it he waited as he really didn't know what to wait for. As the device seem to ring it did so for a few seconds before a body popped up. It wasn't Mako unfortunately. "Hello is this the crew of the Ueshiba?" George spoke to the hologram who appeared. "Yes this is, who might you be and how did you get this device?" The male on the other end replied. "I am George O Rourke, friend of Kixi Rajki. She told me to contact you via this device. I need to speak to Mako immediately." George spoke once again. "Alright, I'll get her right away." The man scurried off as the holo went blank for a few moments as Mako arrived.

"Yes this is Mako, who is this?" A woman appeared on the holo device, it was this time Mako. She obviously wasn't informed of the situation. "It is George, I need to talk to you about something." George replied, his voice sounding slightly worried. "Yes, and what may that be?" Mako asked, her voice seeming a little uneasy. "I need you to meet us on Voss, a request from Kixi. She would have informed you herself, but she is currently resting after our last mission. However it is very important that you meet us at Voss, but only you." George informed Mako, however it seemed she only heard one thing. "Resting... What do you mean resting? Is she hurt? Is she alive?" Panic seemed to have set in on the young woman as her face and voice clearly displayed. "Yes she is fine, just a small knock, just please meet us on Voss. I have to go." George replied waiting on her last comment before turning the holo off. "Ok I'll meet you there." Mako replied as the device shut off. George dropped his head in his hands as exhaustion and the stress of Kixi condition weighed in on his mind. He was isolated with no one around, he decided that it would be the best time to get some rest in, so he lied down on the floor. It wasn't very comfortable, but he didn't really have a choice.

Soon the ship would arrive on Voss. George had left Kixi to rest as he had rested most of the way back as well. As he brought the ship in he gently docked it in the bay before heading down to Kixi in the med bay. But there was a problem, Kixi wouldn't wake up. George stepped back allowing the defective scientist to work on Kixi stabilizing her enough for transport. As they moved her onto a hoversled they made for the exit, very quickly. As they stepped out of the ship Mako was there waiting, she had arrived some time earlier and was waiting for them. She rushed over immediately after realizing who was on the sled. "Whats wrong? Whats happening?" Mako screamed in panic as she watched her loved one lay dormant on the sled. She leant over touching Kixi's face trying to wake her up. "C'mon baby wake up. Please its me." But no, there was nothing. George was then tasked with one of the most difficult things. George wrapped his arm around Mako pulling her away from the sled. "You need to give her space, she will receive the treatment she needs here, she is in good hands." George was a little more optimistic at this stage with the Voss medical crew along with the Jedi medical staff taking her inside. "Please she will be fine." George said to Mako as she turned around wrapping her arms around George as she burst into tears. She buried her head into George's shoulder as she let it all out, no words, just tears.

As Kixi spending a week in the Bacta Tank it was time for her release. George had taken Mako around Voss, showing her Kixi's home, trying to keep Mako occupied. He introduced her to Nena as they spoke about their lives. Nena was growing up fast, she was talking quite a lot now and although not all her words made sense, she had the most important word down pat. Papa. Everytime she said it George's heart melt.

With it time for Kixi to be released and visitors were allowed to enter George accompanied by Mako took Nena down to see Kixi. As they walked through the door George carried Nena in his arms as Mako walked beside them. As they entered the room Kixi was laying in bed, still looking exhausted, but definitely a lot better. "Hello Kixi, you're looking better... Someone wanted to come say hello." As George put Nena down on the bed beside Kixi. "Ello Auntie Kixi." Nena spoke in her little girl voice. It was so cute and George couldn't help but have a huge grin on his face.

Kixi was already awake when the three visitors entered her room. Infact she was just about to change into some proper clothing. The doctors had only moments earlier come in to visit her and signed the release papers.

Nena was surprisingly quick for a young child, beating Mako to run into Kixi's arm. Kixi picked her up and wrapped her arms around her.

"How have you been young one. Auntie Kixi is all okay and brand new again, see."

Kixi would hold for a moment longer before gently putting her on her now unoccupied bed. Then she would embrace Mako in a huge hug. They would kiss quickly, and despite wanting to do more of that, they didn't to respect the two Nautlans present in the room with them. However they would remain locked in a hug for a good five minutes or so, each one of them feeling each other's gentle breathing and heartbeats. They appeared to be joined in unison.

"You scared me you know that Kixi. Every time you set out on a mission, these thoughts, these fears always cross my mind. I guess it's only natural, but you always come back in one piece. Almost always my sweet heart."

"I know, I know. I'm so sorry Mako. However if anything this has made me stronger. What's important is that we are here together now. No one or anything will ever set us apart my love, nothing."

Kixi had contemplated in telling Mako about her Hidajha vision, then thought the better of it. Now wasn't the time, and what she saw would be at least a decade away, so plenty of time to talk about it later. The couple would then kiss one final time before letting go of one another. Kixi then looked at George.

"Doctor has advised I rest and go easy for at least a month. That gives us plenty of time to speak to the Assembly, give Kajtia a proper funeral and spend some quality time with baby Nena."

Kixi would pat the young child on the shoulder as she spoke.

"On the topic of the Assembly, what have you told them at this stage regarding my predicament, assuming they have asked? Also I've decided, if I am to answer before them regarding my past, then Mako must be present with me. Outsider or not, she will give me the mental strength that I wil need for that."

As George and Mako entered the room Nena took over running into the now awake Kixi. They were both so happy to see each other. However as Mako entered Kixi placed Nena on the bed and embraced her love. They spoke for a little while as George moved over and sat next to Nena holding her close as he too kissed her on the head. George really hated how he didn't get to spend as much time with Nena as he would have liked to so he cherished every moment he did have with her.

As Kixi and Mako gave each other one last kiss they let go of each other and Kixi turned to George. She explained that the doctor had advised her to rest for a month and allow the injuries to completely heal before heading back to active duty. George agreed as they would both get to spend more time with Nena and maybe even start teaching Nena a few things. "I agree with the doctor, you need your rest. We've had a busy few months and its taken its toll on both of us. Plus not that we don't have any follow up missions we are good to relax for a little while." George replied as he looked at Nena giving her a little tickle as she laughed and rolled about. Kixi also went into a few other things she wanted to do whilst on recovery time, like speak to the Assembly and organize Kijtia's funeral. "We can orgaize Kijtia's funeral when you are ready. Let me know what you need." George replied steady to keep off the topic of the Assembly, as he had not really convened with them since their return.

"As for the Assembly, I haven't really given them a full briefing. I just told them we were back and you were in trouble, they allowed time for you to recover so we can debrief them together." George may have pulled a few strings to get that decision. But he knew if it came to answering to the Assembly he would slip and the whole thing would end badly. So he though it was best to let Kixi, Mako and himself convene with the Assembly as soon as Kixi was able. "I also spoke with them regarding Mako's entrance to the Assembly, being an outsider and all. They will allow it this time. But the discussion will be brief." George had to again pull some string to even get Mako into the room, but it would be for the best.

Kixi could immediately sense and feel the hesitation to allow Mako to accompany Kixi to the Assembly. Kixi had spoken to, and addressed the Assembly on many occasions on her own or with her master George. Yet this time she felt the need to have Mako by her side. Things were different this time. If her past were brought up, Mako would vouch for her. And whatever she said would be solely the truth, something that the Assembly would want to hear.

"I understand the Assembly's reluctance in allowing Mako before the Assembly with me. This will be a once off Master."

It was then time to leave. The four would exit the medical centre and make their way outside. They decided that they would all dine together and relax and chill for the rest of the day. As they made their way to the local eateries, George would hold Nena's hand as they walked, while Kixi and Mako would as well hold one another's hands as they walked as a couple.

As they walked Kixi would also speak to Mako in her own native tongue about another matter that had been lingering for a while. Although also Sajnen, Züncålidiom wasn't Mako's native tongue as she was from a different world to Kixi, and from a world that didn't speak the mainstream tongues as their first language. Mako's native tongue was Teryezik, a language very different to Kixi's, yet the two women were fluent at both, despite Mako at times struggling with Züncålidiom. They were fluent at several other languages for that matter too. Kixi would at times become frustrated with Mako as a result , yet she would never say anything. In-fact if Mako generally made any mistakes in her duties aboard their ship, Kixi would never say anything, but instead choose to cleanup the mess on her own. Others would see this constantly, frustrated as if they themselves were to do something wrong, Kixi would generally speak up. It was as if the rules were different for Mako than for anyone else. Kixi was, to simply put it, too over protective of Mako. Something that if it continued, would eventually result in dire consequences. George could somewhat sense this too. If anyone could say something, eventually at least, it would have to be him.

As the two women began their discourse, Kixi was unaware that George was still wearing his translator. The device was small that he himself could hide it under his tendrils. He only happened to be wearing it to assist speaking with Mako who's Basic accent wasn't always clear.

"So after all these months, has the Force disruptor on the Ueshiba become operational?"

"Yes, finally the scientists and technicians from back home who were able to assist with their services got it working. They also provided us with technical readouts and manuals so our own crew can do any necessary maintenance."

"That's great news Mako, that's awesome actually. What about the weapon?"

"Yes the weapon. It is progressing well, however I am skeptical about that."

"Why?"

"Well to put it sharply, it is a risk to yourself plus the other Jedi."

"Yes it is, but it will kill Sith, lots of Sith. If we blanket a Sith occupied world with our Force disruptor, and then fire the weapon, the death toll for the Sith will be 100% with zero casualties to the rest of the population. Without the use of the Force due to the disruptor, they won't even see it coming."

"I know Kixi but the risk is way too high. If there is a leak or anything goes wrong with the weapon, you for starters will be dead too, as will any other Jedi that happens to be on the Sith occupied world. Even a Force sensitive who hasn't yet been discovered by the Sith that just happens to be there. With the Force blanked beforehand, you nor any other Jedi would be able sense anyone Force sensitive other than Sith that could be down there and ultimately abort the mission or attack."

"Again I understand. The risks can be minimised when the time comes. We could send spy probes first. I could do a quick flyby of a targeted planet first and check all these things. The attack could then follow soon after. I would be safe and I would only give the order if all is clear."

"I dunno Kixi. It's a risk. All the same we will need further testing. I personally don't like it, especially given the risk to you. However I don't have a say. They are testing it back in a lab in our Confederate worlds back at Androj'Meden. Once done, the specs to create it would be sent to us. I did read one of the test results on a subject. He was apparently a captured dark Force user. Although I have my doubts. I reckon he was Xendaj. He was put in a confined space and the weapon released on him. It appears to have worked. It attacked the midi chlorians in him. It was savage. He died a painful but quick death. There was a non Force sensitive subject in there with him at the same time, and it had no effect on him as far as can be told for now."

"Sounds impressive for now. I guess you have told me enough for now Mako. Lets go and enjoy our lunch. Looks like we are here now."

The four finally arrived at a few eateries. After choosing one that catered for babies and children, they finally sat down and ate. They would chat and talk and enjoy the time they had together. George would pretend he didn't hear a thing of what he heard Kixi and Mako talk about. Despite its potential, it was extremely dangerous. Especially if such secrets were to somehow fall into the hands of the Sith. They would be relentless with such weaponry. The day and then night would pass. Nena would be taken back to the elders. It would eventually be time to call it a night. George would go to his own quarters and for the first time in a long time, Mako would be able to share a bed with Kixi in Kixi's own quarters. The next day would be the day they would speak to the Assembly. As quick as they the night would end, the next day would arrive. Both Kixi and Mako were up early the next morning. Kixi dressed in her traditional Jedi clothing minus her robes, Mako in her uniform that she would normally wear onboard the Ueshiba. Then they would wait patiently for George to come by and pick them up, and lead them to the waiting Assembly.

As the four of them left it was time to get some food. George held little Nena's hand as they walked and Kixi and Mako held each others hands. As they walked down Nena looked happy, it was a long time since then but it made George smile. However something caught his attention. As Mako and Kixi spoke for a few seconds in their language it suddenly was translated in to basic. George listened, but said nothing. The things they were saying almost scared George, although he had almost witnessed what it sounded like before. It seemed that Kixi's past wasn't as far behind as she had made it out to be. But now was not the time to bring it up, for now George would watch and listen. Keeping an eye on Kixi and Mako to ensure there is no threat.

They ended up in a small little restaurant with a nice kids menu which Nena promptly took from. It seemed as though she enjoyed herself as the food ended up all over her face. George sat there wiping her face with a napkin. The smile on his face described his whole feeling at this moment. So happy to be with Nena and he knew that Kixi was happy to see Mako again. With dinner finished it was time to head home. Once again Nena was heading home with George. He enjoyed being home and having Nena there. As the two pairs split George and Nena headed off to their quarters and Mako and Kixi headed off to theirs. George put Nena to bed with a kiss and a hug before heading off to his own bed for a much needed rest.

As the morning came around George was up early. Making breakfast for little Nena before he took her up to the elders for the day as he had Jedi business to attend to. Soon she would accompany him on these days to see the Assembly. But not quite yet. As George dropped her off he left with with a hug and a wave before heading down to Kixi's quarters.

As George reached Kixi's quarters George knocked on the door. Kixi promptly opened it as George smiled. "Everyone ready? Should get this over with quickly." George tried not to sound negative but he didn't like what was about to happen, he felt that if anything were to go wrong it would be on him. He put forward the idea of allowing Mako there and he also delayed the briefing. If anything went bad it would definitely look bad on his part and put himself back a long way.

As George arrived to pick up his former padawan and her companion and then make their way to the awaiting Assembly, Kixi couldn't help but notice the nervousness on her Master's face.

"Is everything alright Master, I can sense the unease in you? That is most unusual from you."

Kixi would momentarily pause before quickly adding the next part.

"We are all on the same side here. In the end we all seek to help one another in aiding the Forces of the light to prevail against those of the dark who stand for nothing more than tyranny. There have been known to have been Sith to be turned back to the light and then become Jedi. I see my past nowhere as bad as those. Whatever the Assembly discovers about me, we will see it through as one. In the end I'm on your and their side. I can only bring a wealth of knowledge that will benefit all of us for the greater good."

Just as Kixi had finished her words, they had arrived at where the Assembly awaited them. George would proceed to open the huge double doors, and the three would enter to the awaiting Assembly of Jedi before them.

As the three of the convened before the walk to the Assembly Kixi could tell that something was bothering George, but at the moment he wasn't ready to share. "Nothing Kixi, don't worry." He replied as the three of them made their way to the Assembly. Kixi continued speaking, telling of how they are all on the same side, the light side. It all made sense, but it all seemed wrong at the same time. Like why would someone of the light use such dark weapons in war? Yes the Sith needed to be dealt with, but was this the right way? George knew he couldn't divulge this information to the Assembly, or even speak to Kixi about what he heard, so for the time being it was all in his head, all up to him to organize.

Soon enough though they made it to the entrance of the Sanctum. The place where the Assembly resided and where the briefing will take place.

As they entered the Sanctum, half the members of the Assembly would be present. This included Kixi's other master, Coci who to some degree had assisted Kixi in her training. This was so especially in the beginning before George had taken her as his full time padawan.

They wound all formally acknowledged one another as per the usual protocols amongst each other. Kixi would then formally introduce Mako and explain the situation that existed between them. Kixi couldn't help but notice some of the weird looking stares she would get. Kixi felt uneasy and would speak out.

"I see some find the idea of Mako being the one for me as unnatural. Where I am from it is perfectly acceptable. Given your society is as advanced as mine in general, I find it difficult to fathom that there are still those who disapprove or have a negative reaction towards this."

Kixi would then simply move on to what she had to say. She would give a complete debrief of the mission. However she would go further to explain the other situation. The one regarding Lord Xiz'Jhan and his elite forces and superior technology. She discussed how information had been leaked by a spy in her own ranks to the dark lord and how the same was being done on the Imperial side with the now deceased Kajtia. She explained how Darth Ravern was but a pawn in this strategic game of Lord Xiz'Jhan regarding weakening the forces of both the Republic and Empire, to have them fight one another after Ravern would unleash his biological weapon that had originated from the Sajnen Confederate. Lastly she would admit to allowing the Sith Acolyte Alexis Mila live due to a phenomenon called Hidaja that both herself and the Sith had experienced. She explained what Hidaja was and how it had never been wrong since its known existence, and that she would be saved by the to be Sith warrior in the future after a brutal attack on her life. However after she was done, what she failed to tell the council, or rather withhold was that she was in fact the original creator of the basis of the Genghis virus, or the biological weapon that Darth Ravern had had in his possession, further to the fact that she had used the weapons on several occasions while in service to Lord Xiz'Jhan, and also had severed as his first prime. Further and lastly she made no mention of her extra-galactic origins, that both herself and Mako were in fact from the Sajnen Confederate which existed in another galaxy, nor that Lord Xiz'Jhan himself would eventually invade this galaxy by entering it through a sector called Vector Prime. The Assembly at this stage had assumed that since this Sajnen Confederate was unknown, as was their technology, that it could only be originating from somewhere in the unknown regions of the galaxy.

The Assembly would then turn to George. They would undoubtedly ask him similar questions regarding the mission. Kixi would just stand there. Inside she would be dreading. It would only be matter of time until someone on the Assembly would ask the next lot of questions. Questions such as where she herself had come from, and where exactly did she obtain or gain access to the information or source regarding Lord Xiz'Jhan to begin with. This and not withstanding several other key things that had been observed in Kixi's possession in terms of never seen before technology, and ships such as the Arkhan and Ueshiba of unknown or unique design and specification.

As they stood before the Assembly the traditional greetings were expressed by all parties. George stood beside Kixi as she briefed all the members present including George's own Master Coci on their mission. He knew it was difficult for Kixi and he showed support to his former Padawan. As she concluded her own version of events the Assembly moved on to George's thoughts. The questions asked were more so at the mission just done, rather than the background information as George knew less about it than Kixi had.

As George described how the mission proceeded with the plan they created and the target they were executing it all seemed to go relatively well. Although seeing as the Assembly was left rather quiet George couldn't really get a good read of the situation from the Jedi Masters present. With George himself being a member of the Assembly it wasn't a daunting task to be in the room with them all, what was daunting however was discussing the mission they had just completed. He kept away from Kixi's upbringing and past as it was not his story to tell. If the Assembly asked he simply replied saying he didn't know and moved on. He did not dwell on Kixi's past and left the truth as what she had said.

Kixi looked around the room using her peripheral vision as George addressed the council with his version of the mission briefing. It was very much a copy of Kixi's own account, as expected since the two hadn't been separated not even once during the mission. After George was done, there was a moment of silence, a few could be heard whispering among each other until one finally broke the silence. His next few questions were as Kixi would already anticipate directly solely at her.

"Kixi, we here are extremely greatfull of what you and of course your master were able to achieve. You have defeated a dangerous Sith who was planning to wreak havoc and suffering throughout the sector and ultimately the Galaxy. Yet many things remain unanswered, unaccounted for. There appears to be huge gaps and discrepancies so to speak in your story beyond that of Ravern."

Kixi would just stand there in total silence as she eyed the Jedi Master who was speaking, without once flinching, or breaking direct eye contact.

"How exactly did you come by this knowledge Kixi? You appear extremely knowledgable about this Lord Xiz'Jhan, his origins and the technology and weaponry at his disposal? Further we or rather I, have made some interesting observations about you. I've seen your personal capital ship in Voss' orbit before. A rather unique ship I might add, as is your personal starfighter stationed here on Voss. I've also observed you speaking to her."

The Jedi Master would turn his head towards Mako and then back at Kixi before continuing.

"You were using some sort of wormhole device. Very unconventional, and personally I doubt anyone here has ever seen one before. So Kixi Rajki what we would really like to know is where exactly are you from, or to be precise, where is your home world's location and what is it called? Also how did you come by the knowledge of this Lord Xiz'Jhan, and come to the conclusion that Ravern's attempt to use biological weapons was more to start a war to use both sides of the Republic and Empire as pawns in his own game?"

Kixi would just stare at the Master, then look around the room, then at George, and then at Mako, not really knowing where to begin, nor how to answer.

George stepped back as his briefing concluded, as the Masters spoke to Kixi it seemed to be going well. However it soon decayed The Assembly began questioning her origins, as large gaps had appeared in her story. George stood there, his smile turned neutral as he himself didn't know what to say. He looked at Kixi as she did the same, looking around the room at George and the Assembly and Mako. She was lost for words. So was George, where were they going to begin? The Assembly had simple questions, but they were such hard ones to answer.

George decided to stay quiet. Well relatively quiet. "Its alright Kixi." He whispered to her trying not to draw the attention of the Assembly to his words, making it seem as though he was telling her what to say. It was a simple confidence boost he was trying to achieve, whether or not it worked on not remained to be seen, it was a tense moment and George's hands started to sweat. It was clearly evident to the Assembly by the quietness of them both that something was amiss.
