Mission to the Darkside (Kixi)

[member="Kixi Rajki"]

As Kixi told more about her people's history she mentioned about another from her galaxy that had made their way into George's. It was something interesting, someone they needed to track down in order to find more information, but unfortunately Kixi had any clue of where to find them. George had even less. "One can hope that they are still alive. I am sure they would have much useful information for us." He replied before Kixi continued.

Per normal Kixi defended her female companion, George expected nothing less. But it still left doubts to Kixi's safety and that was his number one priority. "I understand your position Kixi, all I want is for you to be safe." He replied respectfully. He felt responsible for her even though she had passed her Knight trials and had moved into a position of her own. Deep down George knew something... Something wasn't right, but at the time it was only speculation, nothing concrete and with that he had no much evidence to prove it. So for now George followed the steps of his once Padawan and let her be.

"I don't intend on leaving him out in the galaxy for much longer Kixi, but until we have concrete information that is what we are going to have to do. We will investigate what we can and once we have a place we will head out immediately. Although where this information comes from, that will need to be decided." George knew nothing of the Sith Lord in question. Darth Ravern was someone that he had never heard of before Kixi mentioned him. Although George was sure someone on Voss would have some rumours or some idea of who he was. No matter what it was George would search it out to find this dark man.

"With us... For now. We haven't spent much time with her of late with us being on missions all the time, so whilst we investigate this new Sith Lord we can spend some time with her, even teach her some things about Voss whilst we are at it. Sort of bonding... I am sure you don't mind with that?" George smiled as he knew that Kixi had a huge soft spot for Nena, as if she was Kixi's as well. Although it wasn't too much of a surprise. She along with George saved her, although George took on the responsibility of looking after the infant Kixi was definitely a great motherly figure for the young Nautolan.

Once the two finished their deep discussion and had exchanged thoughts on the issues at hand, it was time to retire and rest. Kiki excused herself and left for her quarters. Before she would rest, she took out her long distance Sajnen communications device and contacted Kes.

Kes' holo image appeared and flickered and echoed as the small portal device came to life. Kixi would explain to her all the events that had happened, including the re-incarnation of Kajtia.

"That I didn't expect. Kajtia lives via consciousness transfer. Honestly I didn't know such technology existed. It could be Ancestral technology that Lord Xiz'Jhan's scientists were experimenting with?"

Kes was clearly lying and playing along with Kixi. She had indeed played a part in the development of the consciousness transfer technology and under the request of Lord Xiz'Jhan himself, secretly stowed Kajtia onboard Kixi's extra-galactic ship. The mission was simple enough. Kajtia would gather Intel on the Imperials and Kes herself on the Republic. It would take a long time, years most likely, but in the end Lord Xiz'Jhan would have all he would need to crush all forces of the galaxy for a successful invasion. And once done she would without hesitation not only kill Kixi, but torture her and give her the slow and painful death that as far as she was concerned, deserved.People like you Kixi, are the reason why families like mine were innocently murdered. Once a tyrant, always a tyrant. Kes would think to herself as she continued her discourse with Kixi.

"Not a problem Kixi. I will get onto this right away. Now that we know about Kajtia and our recently deceased ensign, I'll have plenty of leads to follow and things to check on the ship, plus I can check all long distance communication devices. It will take some time, but il get back to you once I have some news."

Kixi would acknowledge her, speak a small while longer and then end the transmission. Her thoughts on the matter were all over the place, but she really needed to rest and that's what she ended up doing for the rest of the trip back to Voss.

The ship would arrive at Voss less than a day later. Kixi and George undoubtedly had lots of work to do regarding the search for Darth Ravern. Yet something else would come first. Nena Ka. The two Jedi made their way to go pick her up, as they would spend some quality time with the infant. Something the two were looking forward to after the many long and dangerous missions they had undertaken.

As Kixi moved off to rest George ensured that the ship was on the right path and too retired, it was a long battle on Dromund Kass and drew a lot of strength from him, it was now time to re cooperate and repair the damage done. Soon they would be home on Voss, and little Nena Ka would be in his arms again.

Less than a day later George landed the ship in the Voss spaceport, he immediately headed out for Nena, Kixi close behind. As they arrived to where Nena had been staying he knocked and entered. "Hello. Menalo its me..." He called out as he tried to not seem to intruding. "Yes come in darl." An elderly female voice came from down the hall in one of the rooms. George and Kixi were quick to move down there. However just as they were about to enter the room the little Nena Ka came running out. A huge smile dawned her face and arms reaching out for George. "Ohh Nena." He called happily as he extended his arms out to pick up the young girl.

She had grown quite a lot whilst George and Kixi had been away, it made him sad that he was missing her growing, but it was always a nice moment seeing the love in her eyes when George and Kixi entered. "Papa..." The little word uttered from the younglings mouth. George's mouth dropped, this was the first word he had heard her say. "Kixi did you hear that?" George turned to Kixi the excitement could be heard in his voice and seen in his face. A smile brimmed from ear to ear as he held and cuddled the little Nautolan. "Georgie missed you little one." He turned back to Nena speaking to her in a childish voice. The bond between them all were growing closer and closer each and every day.

"Do you want to go see Auntie Kixi?" He spoke to the little girl, once again putting on a little childish voice. George turned sideways so Nena could see Kixi clearly. As George spoke Nena reached her arms out wanting to go to Kixi. George passed her over to Kixi, assured that Kixi was just as excited as he was.

"Thank you Menalo, you have been such a great help. What could I ever do to repay you?" George turned back to the elderly Jedi before she replied. "Nothing darling, you just keep doing what you are doing, thats all I can want." She replied with a smile. She was humble and it seemed she quite enjoyed taking care of Nena. "Thank you again Menalo, I will do my best for you." He replied once more as he gave her a gentle bow. "We must be off, thank you again and I will see you in the coming days." He said before turning around and heading for the door. He gave her a quick wave before he exited with Kixi soon behind him.

It was a warm welcoming. Seeing the young child again. First she went to George, and then to Kixi. Kixi embraced the small Nautalan, held her tightly in her arms and then closed her eyes. Kixi could feel the warmth of the young baby join with her own, as the two auras momentarily melded into one. Kixi would then open her eyes and speak to her. The two seemed happy in each other's arms. Yet eventually the two Jedi had to go. The time never seemed enough. Always much work there was to do. That was the life of a Jedi.

As George and Kixi left, Kixi remained silent for a few minutes as the two walked in unison through the temple's hallways. Kixi finally spoke, but to the surprise of her master, about something he had not come to expect.

"Nena Ka is growing up fast. She called you papa, yet you are not her real dad. In time she needs to know. Although it's beautiful that she called you her dad. I like her. She is the closest thing I can ever have to my own child even if she isn't human. By now Master, I'm sure you have come to the understanding and realisation that I cannot have kids of my own. Not by normal means anyway."

Kixi would speak, a tinge of sadness apparent in her voice as they slowly walked, but not looking once in his direction.

"Now what do we do about Darth Ravern Master? We need to find a lead and quickly. Do you think we missed anything on Dromund Kaas? Do you think he is even real?"

As the two continued to talk, George could sense something else that was troubling his former padawan. Ultimately he would ask the question.

"Kajtia, she was my best friend. I hadn't yet met Mako then. Although we were not intiment like I am with Mako. We were just very close friends. I don't know how to explain this feeling, but I think she was trying to protect me from something on Dromund Kaas. She was trying to tell me something. I know it sounds crazy, but she had me at her mercy. Yet it didn't even cross her mind to kill me. I need to find her again and understand what all this means."

[member="Kixi Rajki"]

As the pair of Jedi left Nena Ka once again a sadness came over them both, time with the child was never enough, always ending to soon. However there was still stuff to do. But soon after Kixi touched on an important but delicate issue. The truth about Nena Ka's parents, when would the Jedi be able to tell her the truth about her parents. "Yes Kixi... She is... I am the closest thing she has to a papa right now. The truth will be revealed soon enough, but for now she is innocent, she doesn't understand the world around her. Once she matures more we will tell her. But now is not the right time." George spoke with regret and sadness, it was a tough subject, the right answer was buried under rights and wrongs. George had no idea what was the right path, but he had to go with his heart and trust it would make the right decision.

Kixi quickly changed the topic to Darth Ravern, the apparent Sith preparing for a biological strike, with no idea who against, or where. "Yes we need to find this Darth Ravern. But finding this information, that will be difficult."

The pair of them walked the corridors of the temple, George could feel Kixi was upset, but not about those mentions prior, it was something new... "Kixi is everything alright? I know its hard with Nena and now this Ravern Sith. But I feel as if there is something else bothering you?" He asked, and he was right. Kixi went on to explain the situation with herself and Kijtia. She was confused by her actions, but had theories to why. "A long time has passed, although feelings do not change even if your allegiances does. It seems she still feels for you. The heart is a crazy weapon, but can out way the most sensible of thoughts. She has the answers we seek, not only about your past, but this Darth Ravern, she has information about him we can use. So we need to find her." George tried to pull her together, she seemed lost and she needed a focus, Kijtia was this focus, for a range of reasons.

As the two Jedi conversed, they finally reached a small but spectacle fountain that was within the temple grounds. Both stopped as Kixi sat by the fountain ledge.

"As she was about to execute Kajtia, Akrada Esmur, her commander Kaura Parcie who had hit me several times for constantly speaking when not being told to, held me tightly in his grip. They were not going to give us any mercy. Well at least to everyone but me, and that was simply because they had secretly been hired by my father to ambush me and my soldiers."

Kixi looked down as she spoke. Sad and ashamed, tears slowly came out of her eyes.

"What we were doing wasn't the right thing. Lord Xiz'Jhan had ordered us to round up the village and arrest them all for a so called act of treason against him. Yet my father who opposed Xiz'Jhan, secretly sent those resistance fighters who by that stage had killed all my soldiers and captured Kajtia and myself."

Kixi looked up at her Master now in full tears as she continued.

"I pleaded for them to leave Kajtia alone, yet they, Kaura and Akrada, both kept hitting me for speaking when told to remain silent. Then Kaura held me tightly. He was a very strong man. He used more force than was necessary to restrain me, in which I was in agony as a result of, while he made me watch helplessly as he ordered Akrada to execute Kajtia. It was a living nightmare. Kajtia knew her fate. She stood there and appeared calm despite knowing she was about to die. Just before Akrada pointed her blaster at point blank range to Kajtia's forehead and shot her clean in the head killing her instantly, Kajtia did calmly say her last words to me. We will cross paths again Kixi. Be strong and live."

Kixi wiped the tears from her face as she stood up and wrapped her arms around her master.

"Until now I had no idea what she possibly could've meant. Now I understand what she meant. That her conscious was about to be transferred to another body just as she was about to die. In reality the real Kajtia is dead. Yet an exact copy of her lives. This is all very emotional for me. She has to know something Master. About Darth Ravern and his plans. I also sense she was trying to tell me something else. I remember her genuinely caring for me. I don't believe that has changed. But what would she have wanted to tell me?"

Kixi let go of George and finally re-composed herself.

"Unless you have any other suggestions, then she is the only lead we have right now to find Darth Ravern. Is there anyone you wanna seek or ask here on Voss before we make our next move elsewhere Master?"

George listened to his former Padawan as the tears built up in her eyes. It was gut wrenching to listen to the story of her and Kajtia. George listened and thought about her situation, thinking about it from a fresh point of view, as this was all he knew about the subject.

As Kixi finished speaking her eyes were full of tears and they streamed down her face. She stood up, wrapping her arms around George. He held her tight not saying anything, letting the force provide a positive movement for her. Warming her.

Finally Kixi composed herself and it was time to make their next plan. "It seems as though as much as you thought it was the end, she did not. Maybe even planned from the beginning. However it seems as what has taken place over the years has placed you both on opposing teams, which I guess caused some hesitation from her." George tried to display his thoughts on the situation before moving onto the task at hand.

"But yes our priority is finding Darth Ravern, but I still believe the best lead we have is through Kajtia. We need to find her first. Any ideas?" George thought hard for an idea to find Kajtia, but they had no way to contact Kajtia, nor have any location or much else information on where either Kajtia or Ravern would be held up. It was going to be tough.

Kixi slowly placed her hand on her forehead. Then slowly rubbed her hand down her face and over her nose and back down again, as she thought about what to say. Finally she looked up at George and would begin to explain something else that George would never have come to expect.

"No. The reality is we were always on opposing teams. Kajtia just never knew it, in fact neither did I and thus why she still would have some care for me. Let me explain, I am of bloodline Rajki. Kaura and Akrada were genuine freedom fighters. If they had wanted to, there had been absolutely nothing stopping them from having killed me. Absolutely nothing. Yet they did not. They however didn't hesitate to kill Kajtia. My father had already ejected me from his House, but he loved me and wanted me back. Like a loving father he had done all he could to try and bring me home. Kaura and Akrada beat me up, but they had been sent to take me to him even though I didn't know it at the time."

Kixi turned around to have her back face George and starred at the water that gracefully flowed from the fountain in front of her.

"To cut a long story short, I managed to escape their capture before they could secretly bring me back to my father. I had both of them at gun point actually. I was so tempted to end them both, Kaura for giving that order to kill Kajtia and Akrada, her stupid Mohawk alone was almost tempting enough to shoot her in the head. But I couldn't do it. The Force, it called out to me. There was something else far greater that would await me. In respect to Kajtia's consciousness transfer, it couldn't have been part of a plan that involved them. Clearly impossible as my father had simply wanted me back and didn't want to make it be known to Lord Xiz'Jhan. And he never found out because I decided to remain silent. Before I left Kaura and Akrada and escaped, Kaura told me something. He told me the coordinates of a planet located
in what we called the Outer Rim Worlds. That there would be a young lady there that I should seek, one that would guide me, help me understand and see the light and the truth. I was of course hesitant at first, but then I secretly went to the coordinates he told me of."

Kixi then swirled around to face George again and an unexpected smile would suddenly appear on her face. Her look of despair would suddenly vanish and be replaced with one of joy. Just like that.

"The young woman not only helped me to slowly understand the truth, she is the greatest gift I could ever have asked for."

Kixi didn't need to say her name, George would already know. He had seen the two close together many times already, and Kixi's love and passion for her immense.

"So you see, the truth is, I was always on opposing sides from Kajtia. I was blinded from my own stupidity. Through the will of the Force I'm now on the right path. Kajtia knows something. Because she is convinced that we are on the same team, or like you said were, she is willing to tell me whatever it is that she knows. I think we return to Drommund Kaas. We will find her there. Then the first piece of this puzzle can finally be revealed. Darth Ravern who he is and what part of this bigger picture he fits into."

Kixi was eager to get going but then paused a moment.

"Master do we need to inform the Jedi Council about this? If so let's get it over with and then go back to Drommund Kaas. I think I have an idea on how to go about finding Kajtia."

As Kixi explained her relationship with Kajtia he seemed to understand more. Obviously like anything there was more than meets the eye, which helped George with his understanding. But as she finished a smile once again dawned her face as she began speaking about her dear Mako. George had met her a few times and slowly understood the relationship between them, a loving one. He liked Mako, she made Kixi happy and love and happiness oozed out of her.

"We could, but what do you hope to find? I would have expected her to up and leave the planet after the last engagement. But a quick heads up, I've heard through the assembly that they will be sending fleets out to take control of the planet in the coming weeks. From what I believe Thurion will be leading it... We will need to get in before that. It would most definitely scare Kajtia off then." George was hesitant with her plan to head back to Dromund Kass, as it was still a dangerous place and after their last visit he was sure they wouldn't be welcome. But if she felt that strongly that she could find her there and get more information about Darth Ravern than so be it. They would set off to Dromund Kass once more.

"I understand your concerns about Drommund Kaas Master, but do you have a better idea or option?"

Kixi briefly waited for a response and got none.

"I didn't think so. We need to find her in order to find the Sith Lord. Jedi are not welcome at the moment at Drommund Kaas. However not Sajnen Züncålazin. In fact Züncålazin are insignificant and non existent to the Imperial course. We're not even from this damn galaxy. Kajtia is Sajnen Züncålazin, so is the Kixi Rajki she remembers me as. We can go back together, in my fighter craft the Câlder mit Arkhan. It's a Sajnen ship. Meaningless to the Imperials and it has a cloaking device. I can transmit a signal from the ship once in Drommund Kaas orbit. It's a unique signal that uses mini wormholes. Like that device you've seen me use before. If Kajtia is there, she will have a receiver to pick it up. If she is there, she will respond. I feel it in the Force Master. She is trying to connect with me. I can't explain it, but the feeling and connection is there."

It was hard to convince George, however Kixi had no other leads. None at all.

"It's going to be a long shot but given the stakes, if Darth Ravern is really out there developing such a weapon of mass destruction, then it's worth the risk."

Kixi once again turned around to have her back face her master and just stood there. She breathed heavily doing her best to hold in her emotions, to hold in further tears as she again wanted to cry.

[member="Kixi Rajki"]

As Kixi replied George looked at her before looking at the ground. Kixi was right, he had nothing, no ideas and no leads. As Kixi continued she detailed her plan back to Dromund Kass. George had not much other choices so he agreed. "I guess we are back off to Dromund Kass again then. I hope this works. But I believe in you Kixi and your plan." He looked back up at Kixi as she continued.

As she finished she turned her back on George, a great sadness ran over her. She tried to fight it, but it was difficult. George would wait until she was ready. He needed her in peak mental condition to complete their task.

As Kixi once again recomposed herself she turned around to face George again.

"Then let's not waste anymore time. We can go straight from Voss to Dromund Kaas just like last time as my Câlder mit Arkhan is stationed here at the hangar bay."

Kixi put her hand on her forehand and shook her head.

"Of course it is, and you already knew that as its parked right next to your ship."

Kixi sounded a mess. She lead the way to the hangar bay and to her ship. It didn't take long to get clearance for departure. Kixi briefly also explained that they were returning to Dromund Kaas by comm unit to one of the less senior Jedi Knights and asked him to pass the message to the Council. She deliberately had done that to avoid having to speak to the Jedi Council herself. Right now she had a mission to do, and explaining it to her master had been emotional enough. The Jedi Council was going to have to wait until their eventual return.

The trip back to Dromund Kaas in the smaller but quicker Câlder mit Arkhan was mostly a smooth flight. Kixi engaged the ship's cloaking device on approach to the planet. Although the cloaking device on the ship was hibridium. All signals inside the ship were blocked from outside the cloak. Kixi was using the Force to completely to navigate the ship. Once in a safe position in Dromund Kaas' orbit, she disengaged the cloak in order to attempt communication with Kajtia Xiz'injhürek. The small device began to dial, but then failed to connect or open up a wormhole. Kixi instinctively tried again, only to get the same result.

"No! It can't be. I know she is still down there. I can feel something small in the Force. It's small but it's there."

Kixi was clearly frustrated at the prospect and realisation that Kajtia might not actually be planet side. Just before George could comment however, the small Sajnen communications device suddenly came to life. Someone was trying to dial them. Then it made a connection. A mini wormhole opened, and an image of Kajtia appeared. Her image flickered as was usually the case with such devices and her voice echoed. As the connection was getting established, Kixi tossed a head device to George and told him to put it on and use it as the conversation that was about to take place wouldn't be in Basic.

"Kixi you have returned. I had a feeling you would. It's not safe here, but you came all this way to find me I take it, so convincing you to go back will be a waste of time."

"Kajtia I must speak with you. It is a matter of urgency. Please allow me to come to you."

"Have you come to take up my offer to come with me?"

"Not quite, I need to know where I can find that Darth Ravern you spoke of last time I saw you. Please Kajtia, I need your help. I know you still care about me and truthfully I care for you, otherwise I wouldn't have come back here for you."

"I know Kixi. I do want to help you, however I'm risking a lot in assisting you. I'm giving you some coordinates now on where to meet me. Cloak your ship when you come in. I'll meet you at those coordinates in 30 minutes."

And then the transmission was abruptly ended. Kixi had the coordinates. She cloaked the Câlder mit Arkhan and landed her ship exactly to where she had been told. It was very much in front of what looked like an abandoned warehouse. There appeared to be no life signs around, as she de-cloaked her ship and both George and herself hopped out. Kixi turned to George.

"I guess we wait now. According to what she said, she should be here in the next 5 minutes or so. You have any last minute suggestions or anything you want to say Master?"

[member="Kixi Rajki"]

As Kixi turned around she became focused, she knew what she had to do. And with that, there was no stopping her. In the haste of the moment Kixi got a little lost, telling George where her ship was docked, which ironically was next to his own. "Its alright Kixi, we all forget who we parked next to sometimes." He reassured her as they headed of towards the hanger bay.

Kixi informed another Jedi Knight of their mission, asking him to debrief the remainder of the Assembly. George would have some explaining to do when they returned, but they was a problem for another time.

Kixi took off and they were on their way to Dromund Kass once again. However this time, the trip was over and done in a considerably shorter amount of time. As they arrived Kixi cloaked the ship and headed in guided by the force. By now she was almost an expert, using the force to guide her into the position she needed to be. As she de-cloaked she fired up the communication device, hoping to get an answer. Just as she did that she threw George a headset, he however had no idea why. But he decided to put it on anyway, thinking it might be apart of the device.

After a few failed attempts the coms device lit up, an incoming call was being received. Kixi quickly answered it and now George found out the reasoning for the headset. As Kixi and Kajtia spoke their native tongue the device translated it and spoke to into George's ear in basic, so he too could understand the conversation.

As they spoke George listened, he had mixed emotions, he felt like something would be found in the up coming stop, but danger struck at George, he could feel it. Danger was close and Kajtia knew it also. As the communication ended Kixi quickly moved the ship into position. She de-cloaked before both exited, they were a few minutes early, but George felt uneasy. Something was wrong. "I still don't know about this... Something doesn't feel right." He said as he looked around at the warehouse and the surrounds, bare, quite, all the makings of an ambush. "Keep your eyes open and stay alert, you don't know what will come next." He finished as he continued to eye the area.

Kixi acknowledged George but gave a slightly different opinion.

"I sense something too, but not that of ambush. Danger most certainly is in the air, yet something feels odd. I don't really understand what it is Master."

Just as Kixi finished her speech, a lonely figure appeared from the darkness. The woman, Kajtia approached them slowly. She had been waiting to the side of the abandoned warehouse, and once she was sure it was safe to come out, she approached the two Jedi. Kixi approached her as she came, while George initially stayed where he was and observed.

"I have not much time. I may have been followed."

Kajtia began saying to Kixi as she pulled out a data disc from her pocket. She appeared scared. Something wasn't right with her.

"Take this disc Kixi. It's the location of Darth Ravern's base of operations."

Kajtia was shaking a little as she handed over the small disc to Kixi.

"Are you okay Kajtia? You seem a little spooked?

Kixi came closer to her and gently placed both her hands on Kajtia's hips.

"Kajtia if something is not right you can tell me. I'm here to help."

"If I am seen here with you, they'll kill me. I've risked enough giving you that disc already. But there is something else I must give you friend. Another disc. It contains important information on someone who is feeding Imperial and Republic secrets to Lord Xiz'Jhan. It's imperative I give it to you, but I didn't bring it with me.

"Woh, woh. Who is wanting to betray me Kajtia? Who?"

Kajtia quickly looked around.

"Kajtia I know you're frightened but no one is around here at the moment but us, and the Nautolan Jedi behind me. We are Jedi, we can help you."

Kajtia starred Kixi in the eyes.

"You are a Jedi now Kixi?"

"Yes. It's very much a similar warrior to what I was before. A Force sensitive Züncålazin, but that doesn't matter right now. Who Kajtia?"

But Kajtia was spooked. She answered slowly and softly.

"I've risked a lot already rendezvousing with you. I need to give you that other disc. It will contain things on it that will shock and surprise you and who you need to watch out for. In an hour from now at the location not far from here that I'm about to give you, meet me there and I'll give it to you. Don't be late."

Kixi took in the new set of coordinates as she took her arms off Kajtia.

"Are you sure you are okay. You can always come with us you know."

"I will be okay Kixi. I know you see me frightened, but it's just because I'm worried that I might be seen with you. Once this is over, I'll be fine."

Kixi nodded in acknowledgement and then came closer to her friend and embraced her in a huge hug.

"I've missed you all these years Kajtia. How did you come back? Back from the dead that is."

As Kixi continued to hold on to her old friend, Kajtia would explain very much what Kixi had already worked out regarding the transfer of consciousness at the time the original Kajtia had been executed. Then after another minute of silence, Kixi and Kajtia, let go of one another.

"Please don't be late. I'll see you again in another hour."

As Kajtia rushed off, little did the three present know that someone was indeed watching them. Via a silent hovering drone high above them, invisible to the Force. Kajtia's life was now in real jeopardy. Yet she didn't know it. Kixi had sensed danger lurking just as both George and herself had landed. Yet she still couldn't work out what it was.

"Master this data disc. Hold on to it. It should contain what we need to know about Ravern and how to find him. I'm meeting Kajtia at the new location in an hour. I feel something is not right at all. She is trying to genuinely help me but fears someone or bodies. I need to know as that person or persons is probably seeking to hurt me too, or if not that, perhaps spying on me and ultimately intending on hurting me and others around me in the end."

NPC Kes En'jusek

It didn't take Kajtia long to go retrieve the other data disc and get to the coordinates that she had given Kixi less than 30 minutes prior. She had planned it to give her more than enough time for her to get it, change locations, and make it a quick exchange. All this has been measures that she had taken just in case she had been followed. Little did she know that the entire earlier conversation had already been compromised and that she was about to meet her fate.

Kes could see Kajtia alone and awaiting nervously for Kixi to return with that other alien blue skinned Jedi. She had to do what she had to do, and quickly as both Jedi would be to where they were within just over half an hour. Kes had been made aware of this meeting after the last time Kajtia had encountered Kixi and her Jedi companion George on Dromund Kaas. Kixi oblivious to Kes' real plans had told her everything as per usual. Kixi trusted and confided in Kes. However Kes had less than 30 minutes to correct the present and obvious serious problem that would undoubtedly jeopardise her position and plans. Kes causally approached Kajtia who clearly looked nervous. Just like anyone who was doing what they shouldn't be doing would naturally look like.

"Hello there Kajtia".

Kes spoke out to Kajtia calmly and with her hand close to her blaster. Kajtia's face went all white and pale in shock as she hadn't expected Kes to just come out of nowhere. In fact it was the last person she had expected or wanted to see.

"Surprised to see me?

"Ummm, ummm what are umm are you doing here Kes?"

"I could ask you the same question Kajtia. However I don't need to. I know exactly why you are here. That was very stupid and foolish of you before."

"Ummm what do you mean?"

Kajtia gulped as she spoke. Deep down she knew she had just been caught out.

"Oh let's not play games or stall things Kajtia. You know very well what you did. You revealed information about Darth Ravern to Kixi. Now that girl was a big no, no. One that cannot be let go unpunished."

As Kes spoke she pulled out her blaster which was set to kill and pointed it at Kajtia.

"No, no please wait, let me explain. I gave her the information on Ravern only because umm well I wanted to lure her and her alien Jedi into a trap. Really I did."

Kajtia was stuttering her words, scared as Kes pointed her weapon at her.

"Oh sure you did Kajtia, listen to yourself speaking will you. Surely even you don't believe the words your saying."

Kes simply shook her head in disappointment and disgust as she prepared to take aim.

"No, no please Kes, don't kill me. I'm
Sorry, really I am."

"Well you see Kajtia, if this were all you had done, I could've spared your life and just punished you in a different way, but you see, you were about to tell that stupid moron Kixi all about me, weren't you?"

"Oh is that what you think Kes? It's not true otherwise I would've just said it to her face then and there."

"Ha! Nice try fool. You were going to show her proof. Give her another data disc with that proof weren't you?"

Kajtia just stood there, sweat now coming out of the sides of her head.

"Ah the sweat in the coldness is proof that you are guilty of that. Now give me that data disc."

Kes extended her free hand demanding the data disc.

"Go to hell, I'm not giving it to you."

Kes simply laughed at the notion of Kajtia refusing her demand. After all she was the one with the blaster pointed at her chest.

"Well you have it on you, so I'll just take it off you after I kill you."

Kes briefly waived her blaster to the side and laughed before once again pointing it at Kajtia. Kajtia froze, frightened and starred at Kes.

"It shouldn't be all that bad. After all this will be your second time, except this time you won't be able to cheat death again."

Kes gave Kajtia a huge smile which would instantly change into a face and expression of hatred. She pointed the blaster to Kajtia's stomach and shot her without further hesitation. Kajtia dropped to the floor and lay on her back, both arms and legs spread out. She wasn't dead yet, exactly what Kes had wanted to do. She would kill her slowly and painfully. Kes slowly knelt down before Kajtia as she holstered her blaster. Kajtia was immobilised in her pain. She garbled a little as both her arms and legs twitched a little and blood began to slowly oozing out of her mouth.

"Now you will suffer painfully for your treacherous act."

Kes searched Kajtia's body for the data disc and found it. She turned it on briefly to ensure it was the one she was looking for. Shaking her head as she saw exactly what it was.

"Your foolishness has now cost you your life. And Kixi, that nothing more than a dumb lesbian idiot that she is, will still never know a thing about my true and cruel intentions. And you fool, will have now died for nothing."

Kes put the disc away in her own pocket as she checked her watch.

"Well Kixi and her protective alien Jedi scumbag will be here in around 25 minutes. You should be dead from your wound in lets see now. Ummm I would give it between 5 to 10 minutes. Plenty of time for me to watch you die in pain and have time to get the hell of here before they arrive."

Kajtia couldn't move. Her stomach had been ruptured. She was in sheer agony and immobilised. She starred at Kes who in turn starred back into Kajtia's eyes. Blood kept oozing from her mouth as Kes placed two of her fingers on Kajtia's throat to feel for a pulse. She found one, a weak one, one that was slowly getting slower and slower as Kajtia's life slowly drained away from her. She would hold her fingers there and stare at her directly in the eyes until she was dead. Kes was a cold blooded assassin and actually took please in feeling her victims die slowly and painfully. She then picked up Kajtia's left arm and wrapped her hand with hers. It twitched slowly as Kajtia suffered in immense pain. Kes would hold onto her until the twitching would eventually stop, her hand go limp and Kajtia dead.

Several minutes passed, no one spoke. Kes kept her fingers on Kajtia's throat and held Kajtia's hand with her other hand as she kept starring her in the eyes. Then Kajtia's growning and gasping would stop, her body would twitch even more for several more seconds and then that would all stop too. Her pulse would disappear or stop completely as the hand Kes was holding became and felt limp. Kajtia was dead. Kes continued to stare at her lifeless eyes for another minute before moving her fingers away from her throat and letting go of her hand, kissing it and placing it on her chest.

"You left me no choice Kajtia. Good night and all the best in your next life."

Kes then retrieved a small light torch from her belt. She shown it one at a time on Kajtia's lifeless eyes. Just to be fully certain she was dead. The light shining on both eyes resulted in no movement or twitching whatsoever. Kajtia was indeed dead. Kes put the torch away. She had to do one last thing before she would leave. Kes retrieved a small pointy device from her utility belt. She would insert it at the back of Kajtia's head. The needle like device, Kes forced into the back of Kajtia's deceased head. It pierced the brain and Kes then activated the device. Within half a minute it totally fried Kajtia's brain as her already deceased body violently twitched and then stopped once Kes was done and pulled the device out from Kajtia's head. The purpose of what Kes was doing was simple. Sajnens had technology that could be used to retrieve the last moments of death on virtually any one deceased. Something Kixi would undoubtedly attempt once she found Kajtia dead. That would most certainly would have Kes caught in the act. However with a brain that was nothing more than burnt out charcoal, there would no longer be any chance of that occurring. The smell of charred flesh oozed from the back of Kajtia's head as Kes dropped her head and put away the device. She looked at her watch. The blue alien Jedi and his dumb lap dog Kixi would be arriving in just over 10 minutes. Just enough time for Kes to get away without a trace. She quickly skimmed her hands all across Kajtia's deceased body one last time to ensure no evidence of her doing was left. She then got up and ran and was long gone into the cold night.

As Kajtia came forward, looking around paranoid that there was someone, or something following her. She spoke with Kixi for some time she soon handed off a disc to Kixi. However it hadn't finished there. There was to be another meet in an hours time. What for? Another disc was all that was known, what was on the disc only Kajtia knew.

As Kajtia left Kixi returned to George and handed over the disc, she wanted George to hold onto it in case anything were to happen, not that George would let anything happen, but piece of mind. "Kixi I am coming with you, you know that right?" He said, he knew that she thought it would be best for just herself to go, but in a place like this George didn't want to take any chances. "There is still something in the air, and with Kajtia looking so paranoid it makes me feel as though she is not behind it. Seems as though your feelings of the past were stronger than either sides loyalty to their leaders." George was still somewhat surprised by the outcome, not expecting Kajtia to be so willing and helpful. But it was about time to get something to go their way. And now with the disc with Darth Ravern's location, they had a solid lead.

Given there was some time to spare, Kixi was by no means in any immediate rush.

"Of course you're coming with me Master. I wouldn't think of it any other way."

However Kixi was deeply concerned. Normally when she gave such responses to her master, she would grin, or smile or even give him a classic cocky look. However he got none of that from her on this occasion. Only a serious expression of dire concern. Time did seem to go quickly, but at the same time it felt like an eternity. It was one of those moments of desperation that one had to wait it out. Not the best of feelings or situations as far as Kixi was concerned, and sadly for her, things were only about to get a lot worse.

"Master I can't wait any further. Let's go now. I don't think it will matter if we are there a little earlier."

In leaving a little earlier, it would allow the two Jedi to reach the coordinates that Kajtia had given her a good five minutes earlier. By that time Kes was gone leaving her victim dead where she lay. Kes had left with around ten minutes to spare. Lucky for her as she would've otherwise have ran into the two Jedi.

Kixi could see the body of Kajtia laying motionless on the ground. Instinctively she already knew.

"Nooooooooo."

Kixi cried out as she ran towards her. As she got to her, she checked for vital signs, however it was pointless as Kixi already knew she was dead. Kixi lifted her up slightly and put her arms around her.

"Nooooooo. Not again. I've failed you again. I should've come with you to retrieve that other disc."

Tears ran down Kixi's face as she tightly held onto Kajtia's limp body in a hug. This would last several minutes until finally Kixi gently put Kajtia back down again. She searched her body for the disc but didn't find anything. She examined the body for initial course of death and came to the obvious conclusion.

"The assassin has probably taken the disc. Whatever Kajtia wanted me to see, clearly someone didn't want me to see it and silenced Kajtia for good. Death, blaster wound to the stomach. Slow and painful. But there is more. This part is most intriguing."

Kixi lifted Kajtia's head and showed the small incision to the back of her head, which even from a metre away, the smell of burnt flesh was evident.

"Her brain was fried, highly likely after she died. The device used to do it is of Sajnen origin. Purpose was to undoubtedly prevent me from examining her brain afterwards to see the last moments of death and catch the killer. We have such technologies to do that. Very planned out from the assassin I would assume. The killer had access to Sajnen technology. However it doesn't mean one of my people are responsible. Kajtia was working for the Imperials. It's possible she may have given them access to this. That now raises the question. What else did she give the Imperials? Is Darth Ravern using any. Worse still, does he have biological weapons initially developed by me. We have a lot of work to do."

Kixi wiped the tears from her face.

"As for Kajtia, she deserves a proper funeral. I couldn't give her one last time, this much I owe her now. We normally burn our fallen comrades on a pyre. We will take her body back to the Ueshiba. I will have my scientists examine her first, although clearly there won't be much to be found. I'll also have Kes look at it since she is an expert assassin. She may shred some clues. Then I'll have the body put in frozen storage for until a proper funeral can be held."

Their work was done on Dromund Kaas. Kixi lifted Kajtia's corpse with the Force and the then made their way back to the Câlder mir Arkhan.

"You'll have to fly the ship Master. I'll help you get around the Sajnen interface but it shouldn't be hard for you. I'll sit in the back with Kajtia's corpse slumped on top of me. If I put her on top of me facing me, we should just fit. If you sit in the back, you're too big thus why you'll be flying. It will be uncomfortable, but I can't leave her body here."

They then all got on board. They left without further incidents and would eventually get to the MXS Morohei Ueshiba, Kixi's prized starship.

Kixi was anxious to get to the rendezvous point so they decided to move a little faster, getting there early couldn't hurt? As Kixi and George made their way towards the meeting place. As they made their way closer both of them saw a body lying limp on the floor. Instantly Kixi knew what had happened, she ran off towards the body and George wasn't too far behind. He grabbed both hilts from his belt as he followed. Looking around to make sure there was no immediate danger, as the killer could still be in the area.

As the area was clear George put the hilts back on his belt as he walked up behind Kixi who sat over her dead friend. "I am so sorry Kixi." He spoke as he laid his hand on her back. Kixi mood quickly changed, tears still rolling down her face she immediately examined the body, telling George the results. It wasn't good, slow painful death and apparently he brain had been fried, something George had never witnessed in his life. Although according to Kixi she was already dead when it was done, the brutality behind it was extreme. "We will get the answers, we will find who did this to her and we will bring them to justice. But for now we must get going, the assassin is probably still in the area, and we don't want that fight right now, we are vulnerable here." He replied as he gently grabbed at her shoulder trying to get her to begin moving.

She finally began moving, she picked up Kajtia with aid of the force and brought her back to the small fighter that had been brought along for the mission, it was a tight fit and with that George had been thrown in the pilots seat. He had never flew this sort of ship before and the instruments were all different, a large learning curve indeed, but something he would pick up quickly. Kixi quickly ran him through the details of the ship and how to fly it before she took her seat in the back with the limp body of her friend laying over her. It was devastating to see. So George did his best to get back to Kixi's starship as soon as possible. She wanted to give Kajtia a proper sending off in her cultures way, George had no problems with that.

As they returned to the Morohei Ueshiba George made sure to contact the Silver Jedi Assembly and inform them of their status and to inform them of the delay. George stepped back and let Kixi organize her friend funeral. Knowing for sure that Kajtia got the sending off she deserved. It was a sad time for all, but George kept his cool. He needed to be there to support his former Padawan.

The trip back to the Ueshiba was trouble free. The lift off from Dromund Kaas had been a little shaky. That was understandable given they had taken off on atmospheric engines, meaning George was effectively flying an aircraft, and then mid flight switched to sublight engines for space flight. Assuming that was his first time, he did quite well, although Kixi thought for a moment that he might stall mid flight, however the Jedi Knight kept all under control. George was a quick learner.

As they arrived at the Ueshiba's hangar bay, members of the crew helped lift Kajtia's body off Kixi from the Arkhan, and then assisted Kixi off too, even though she would've been fine to get out on her own. Kixi ordered the body to the medical room and then asked her chief medical officer to examine it and see what little clues could be found regarding her death and killer.

"You look a little exhausted Kes?"

Kixi would then comment observing the assassin.

"Yes, I was working out. I was summoned here at your unexpected arrival and quickly got changed and got here."

Kixi nodded in acknowledgement. Oblivious to the fact that Kes had in fact been on Dromund Kaas, killed Kajtia and had only just gotten back to the Ueshiba. Infact only around 30 minutes before the 2 Jedi did. She had used one of the Sajnen Starfighter R ships that were similar in speeds to the Arkhan. How she had managed to eluded the entire crew of the Ueshiba, that is leave, be missing for some time, get back on the ship completely unnoticed, would be a subject for another time. Fact was, she had covered her tracks well and would never be suspected for her treachery.

"Kes I want you to assist in the autopsy. Since you are let's say an expert at these things. Kajtia's brain was fried using our technology. See if you can possibly recover anything. Examine her skin, her face, everything you can."

Kes acknowledged and then followed the chief medical officer to the medical lab where Kajtia's body had been taken.

A day had passed and it was quickly concluded that Kajtia's cause of death was very much as Kixi had already worked out. As to who killed her, nothing could be found as expected due to the circumstances. And even if there was something there, Kes who was actually the killer would've covered it up. Kixi then ordered Kajtia's body to be put in frozen storage onboard the ship. A suitable world to conduct the funeral wasn't going to be hard to find. The problem was time. They needed to get back to Voss and examine the disc relating to Darth Ravern, then inform the Council and plot their next actions. No one on the ship including Mako had infact been told of the disc. This was to obviously to prevent any possible sabotage. Yet unknowingly to the Jedi, Darth Ravern and the Imperials already knew. Kes had known that Kixi had the disc regarding Ravern. After all she had seen Kajtia give it to Kixi and then kill her not long after.

Another day passed and both George and Kixi would return to Voss on the Arkhan. After they landed and then walked towards the main buildings, Kixi spoke.

"So no one from my ship knows we have the Intel on Ravern. If we are compromised, and I hope we're not, we will know it can't be anyone from my crew. Shall we examine this disc on our own first before advising the others, or should we invite others from the Council to participate in seeing it with us now?"

Kixi asked eager to see exactly what was on the disc.

On the return to Kixi's ship George left Kixi to her devices, she had everything planned and set to go. George rested up in one of the spare rooms over the few days that she took to organize and prepare Kajtia's body for the funeral.

Finally it was time to leave the Ueshiba and head home, George and Kixi took her fighter back to Voss. As they arrived they needed to decide what they would do with the disc and who to inform, Kixi wondered if it would be wise to include the Assembly in the combing through intel to find Darth Ravern. George felt that they would inform them, but the two of them would be able to get the information they needed by them selves. "We'll keep them informed of what we find out, there is no need to include the entirety of the Assembly for this, we can do this ourselves." He replied as they set off for the Sanctum to brief the remaining Assembly members of their mission and the somewhat success.
