Missing on Drongar

Miss Blonde

Trying to be straight in a crooked Galaxy
Drongar; a tropical planet located on the border of Silver Jedi and Republic space. A once warring planet hundreds of years ago in the days of old now a peaceful place of healing and herbalism. Or at least that's what it appeared to be on the outside. For as we all know looks can be very deceiving.

Laying down on a lounge chair by a pool a Republic field agent Garter sipped from some sort of tropical drink and relaxed. She wore a simple red bikini and made it look very good. Running a hand through her long blonde hair the girl smiled and melted into her chair. "See this is what's up, no running around, no getting shot at, not having to sleep with ugly dudes for information." Stretching her legs forward she gripped her drink and leaned forward to stretch her back drawing a few looks from people who passed by. "I mean not that I mind the latter." With a chuckle she laid back and took another sip. And just like that her fun was about to come to an end.

"AGENT GARTER!" Her comm channel yelled at her and she all but froze for a moment. "I KNOW YOU'RE THERE GARTER! PICK UP OR YOU'RE FIRED!!" Hushing the comm link with her hand she sighed and spoke into it. "I'm chasing down a lead right now get off my back!" She said in a annoyed and whiney tone. "Oh yeah sipping Mai tais by the pool you're really invested! Get your ass up and find this Hernaldo Ortega!" With a low growl of frustration Patricia retorted "Uggghhhh!! Fine!" Getting up she sighed and tossed the link in her purse near the chair picking it up in a hurried fashion.

The mission was a fairly simple one. A man named Hernaldo Ortega, the planets biggest supplier of Bota had gone missing. Story had it was the man was at a meeting discussing a price reduction for the healing Bota plants to the republic for war time help. Then before he could enter the meeting hall with republic officials he just vanished, like into thin air vanished. Normally the republic would send a Jedi to handle such affairs but with the army being stretched thin with the war they sent Garter in their place. And to be fair she was doing her job to an extent. She had been running down leads and an informant said that a group of bounty hunters that happened to show up the day of Ortega's supposed kidnapping were staying at this hotel and were checking out today. It might turn out to be the culprits Garter didn't know. But she intended to find out

In a few minutes and a quick change of clothes Patricia wore a simple red dress with a short cut denim jacket. Underneath her aperal she wore various weapons and gadgets that would help her in job. Turning the halls of the hotel she spotted them, four tall burly and large Trandoshans and a single human in dark robes that carried a briefcase. She barely got a look at them before they trailed off deeper into the hotel. Not wanting to lose her lead she quickly followed them then tucked behind them. Three Trandoshans and the human in dark robes, good she had not lost them. "Alright, let's do thi-" being cut off from her words Patricia looked over to her right and it was too late. A large six foot trandoshan burrowed into her slamming her into a door breaking it open and leaving her gasping for air on the floor. "HELP!" She said coughing and wheezing trying to catch her breath

Being lost in the thoughts once more and not being her best at the trainings, Master E'ron wanted to send Nima to Drongar, a wonderful, tropical place that the elders and the young go and live a life that is all about joy and happiness. It had great places to go meditate, and a clean ocean to swim and just forget all the problems and live the life... Thinking all the possibilities, who could say no to such an offer? She nodded with excitement, and ran to her home with lots of thoughts... So many things to put to her luggage... What to do, where to go first? But she was sure of one thing, this little travel of her was going to be awesome. She continued to fill up her luggage, some swimwear, some T-shirts, her toothbrush, some bandages to keep her lekku in control while swimming. Living with lekku was like living with your brain open, so keeping them safe was a Twi'lek's most important job. And of course, her lightsaber. No matter how she didn't want to put this, everything could happen.

After she reported back to Master E'ron to tell she is leaving, she went to the Order's hangars, catching her shuttle just in time. Running all the way from the Temple to catch the shuttle, she sighed in happiness, and sat to one of the comfortable chairs. There was a few people with her in the shuttle, and everyone was minding her own business. As the shuttle continued going, she imagined how beautiful and refreshing this journey would be, over and over, over and over again. Why was she so excited to go there? She thought that maybe the Temple was carrying bad memories, and just leaving it for a moment could help her forget things and continue her life more easily. As the pilot told them that they arrived to their destination, she was the one to leave the ship first.

Taking all the oxygen that the planet offered, she put a big smile on her face and looked at her surroundings. The colors of this places was just making her want to dance. She continued to move towards her hotel, and as she heard from her master the service of the hotel was awesome. She didn't understand why did Master E'ron pay so much for her, but she was grateful. She arrived at the huge hotel, and entered from the glass door. There was a greenish Twi'lek waiting at the reception desk. "Kah'lehalle!" she said, with a cheerful tone. A greeting that Twi'leks say when someone arrived to their place. "Kassurra!" She said with the same cheerful tone, and held her hand up. That was hello in the formal language. It was a long time that she spoke Twi'leki. After taking her key, she left her, saying her goodbyes. Even at the beginning something changed, it was absolutely going to be awesome.

But... Nothing was perfect, of course. After she left her luggage at her bed and slowly opened it, she heard a voice, almost like a scream coming from far. She sighed, and thought to just ignore it and continue her vacation. But the voices continued to come... She was a Silver Jedi, she had to help the ones that needed help. She sighed again and took her lightsaber from the luggage, and started to move towards the voice that was coming from the far end of the hotel. As she opened the door between the voice and her, she saw a big, ugly Trandoshan with a gun was going to hurt someone, they came eye to eye with the girl, and she put a finger on her mouth, telling her to be silent. Then, slowly getting near to the creature, she silenced it, by stabbing it in the stomach. She sighed once more as the corpse of Trandoshan slowly fell to the ground. "Need a hand?" She said, extending her hand to the girl on the floor.

Being knocked to the ground hard Patricia panted and wheezed heavily. She was surprised she was able to scream for help, not that she would need help in her mind. However the situation did not agree with that thought. Looking down at her was a very mean and snarling trandoshan who looked like he wanted nothing more than to rip her throat out and eat her corpse afterwards. She was still stunned and seeing stars, there wasn't much the young republic agent could do but sit there and wait to die. Hopefully the beast would just shoot her and spare her the fate of being his lunch on the floor of a cheap hotel carpet. This was it, taking one last deep breath Patricia was about to scream but then it happened.

A bright light burst through the mid section of the trandoshan. Making a gargling sound the beast looked down at his stomach and froze for a moment a look of shock and terror mixed into his scaley face. "Ugg.." The beast of a man let out a small gasp as if he was trying to say something. He was stuck and it was all over for him now, slowly the trandoshan's face moved from shock and pain to that of a more relaxed demeanor as his head slumped down bellow his shoulders. The man fell forward off the blade and onto the floor a foot or two away from Patricia. Then he died, the goon lay there his eyes open and glossed over. Patricia looked into them for one moment then quickly looked away and up at her savior.

She was a Jedi by the looks of her. And one of those weird head tail aliens that Patricia couldn't care to remember the species name. "Briefca-" she said trying to stand and catch her breath over what had just happened. She tried again and spoke louder. "Republic intelligence. The man with the briefcase, get..." She coughed and began to stumble towards the door. Sucking in a deep breath of air Patricia caught her breath once more and she looked back at the Jedi that she assumed was from the republic to replace her on this assignment. "Come on! He's getting away he might know where Ortega is, there's not much time!" Yelling now Patricia had to get moving before the man with the black robes was gone

"Black robes! Three other Trandoshans with guns let's go!" Coughing one last time the woman bolted from the room and began to run down the hall trying not to stumble on her own feet. Three inch heels were not the best for running in, but dammit Patricia made them look good in her dress.

"Hey hey hey hey! Calm down for a second. What briefcase? What's going on?" She said, some questions appearing in her head but the blonde woman was in a hurry, within a second she stood up and, still in shock she was talking about a man in black robes and someone named Ortega. She started to follow her, the way that the things were going, this girl could put herself in danger in seconds. So much for a vacation, huh? She was a Jedi, and the Jedi were always busy. There was no vacation, or relaxing. In any case, she held her hand close to her lightsaber, things could get worse around here. After a minute of following, she saw a man in black robes, he was probably who she was looking for. They started to follow the scary looking man in briefcase, and looking at his robes, he could be a Sith, so she was worried for an open fight, besides, she was still a Padawan.

She looked at her, while they were still following the man. She was nervous and probably was carrying some secrets with her, and she had that aura and the smell of a Republic officer. Thinking these, suddenly she felt a disturbance in the Force, it was like the man did understand that they were following him, and suddenly turned his back. With reflex, she dragged the girl to the ground, he almost caught them... "Phew, that was close. I think you should get rid of that heels, it's making a lot of sound. But after this, I need to learn who is the seller of that, love its looks." She almost had an heart attack, because she already killed a Trandoshan, and she always hated killing things, even it was an enemy. Why was this happening, who was this girl, and the most important thing was, why was she following that man? She had lots of questions in her mind. And she hated to have questions. To think of it, she hated lots of things, because of the events that she lived earlier.

The man stopped, as he saw the Twi'lek in reception desk, and they started to talk. What was one of her species doing with such a dangerous man? And what was happening here... Finding an empty moment now, she looked at her with curious eyes. "Nima Tann, Padawan of the Silver Jedi. Care to explain what's happening now?" She touched her shoulders, in order to calm her down.

Patricia ran as fast as her three inch heels could take her, which was surprisingly fast for someone as small as Patricia. It probably could be chalked up to experience and all the "field time" she got in those things. She however needed to stop whoever this person was, sith or not this D-bag was connected to Ortega and she knew it. Rounding the corner of the hall Patricia took a deep breath then pointed her finger as if she was Phoenix Wright about to scream OBJECTION in all caps. However before that happened she found herself being taken down to the ground, hopefully not by another trandoshan. She was at her limit of ugly alien dudes trying to knock her to the ground and murder her.

"Ah, queen!" She said outloud as she lost her balance and went back down to the floor. One of the trandoshan body guards looked over to where Patricia was standing. He saw nothing, shrugging he kept to himself again returned his focus back to the man with the black robes. He seemed to be stalled by the woman at the counter as they settled the bill for the room. Catching her breath the female Jedi spoke to her telling her that she would highly recommend that she ditched the heels for something more comfortable and less noise inducing. A few inappropriate words came to mind on what she wanted to call the Jedi after that but she remembered she did just sort of save her life so friendly conversation was probably best. "Havana Cross, the shoes." She said with a smile on her face.

Looking back to the man in the robes he seemed a bit distracted making conversation with the good looking receptionist. She giggled slightly and held a hand up to her mouth. Turning back she assumed she would have enough time to speak to the Jedi about what exactly was going. And it really wasn't all that long of a story but she was a bit strapped for time so Patricia would have to give her the short version of events. She had introduced herself as a silver Jedi, and while they weren't republic she would be close enough.

"A man named Hernaldo Ortega is the owner of the biggest crop of Bota on this planet. A healing herb that can help save lives against the war of the sith. He was scheduled to meet with republic officials four days ago but before he could meet them he up and vanished. I was assigned to find him and since I've been tracking down leads I found out these fine gentlemen arrived and checked in at this hotel the day Ortega went missing. And I think they have something to do with it, and my suspicions were confirmed when big green and ugly jumped me." Giving her the rundown of the story Patricia looked out to see the man in robes shake the hand of the twe'lik and walk towards the door where a speeder truck halted in front of the building with another two burly Trandoshans waiting for him inside it. "Agent Garter." She said looking over to the Jedi with a soft smile. "But you can call me Patricia. How do you want to handle this?" She said to her new ally as the man in dark robes began to walk out the door and towards the speeder

"Havana Cross, huh? Need to take a note." She smiled to her, as they were in this situation right now, she wanted to learn who she was helping. Learning she was a Republic Agent, she remembered the Jedi rules that they weren't allowed to join the fight between the Republic and Empire and they had to remain in the neutral path. But this wasn't a fight, this was a crime. She probably needed to report to Master E'ron about that, but the time was very little and if they couldn't catch him now they would lose their chance to find an innocent man, and a great asset for Republic of course. Since they were allies, the goods of the Republic was indirectly theirs too. So she thought for a second, trying to find the best approach. "You are an agent? Why am I not shocked now? You got that smell of the Republic, or is it your perfume?" she laughed, joking around to melt the ice. But then, things come to the business. "Alright, umm Patricia. We can't do anything with direct approach. Let's handle this quiet, our mission is the briefcase, and the location. You know any speeders around here? We don't want to miss them."

"We are alone and we are in this together. The man in black robes has a dark aura and he has a lightsaber, so probably he is a Sith, or he's a smuggler that smuggled from one of them. But... let's think of the worst case now. Have you got any equipments, that will help us get out if things went ugly? I only have this little friend." She showed her lightsaber with her eyes. When things got serious, she had to be serious to solve the problems too. No more joking around. She looked and learned from her master, and she felt the need for using what she learned now. As the suspects slowly started to move to the door, she nodded to Patricia, and they moved to the door, following them. "You find a speeder, I find an address if something went wrong. The Twi'lek knows something, I have seen her face." She moved to the reception desk, with an evil grin. It was time to make progress.

She didn't know why, but she felt something different this time, she felt like she was doing something dangerous. But, everything was not that easy, so she had to deal with dangers. As she slowly moved towards her, she felt that the green Twi'lek was nervous. She had to know something. "Well... let's start to talk." She said, with a cold tone.

"Speeder, got it." Patricia sprung up acknowledging everything that the silver Jedi had said. However the man in the robes were still in the truck that lay beyond the glass door. The other mercenaries swarmed the truck quickly and loaded into it with the precision of a professional or someone who had done it a lot. These were not your average trandoshan hunters that wanted to knock someone out and drag them to hunting ground to play predator for a few days. These were the signs of hardened mercenaries working for the man in the robes, whoever he was. "Hope you don't mind pink!"

The small slender agent took a hard right down the hall to disappear from the Jedi's sight, leaving her with that strange last comment. Back in front of the building the man in the good pointed at a map he was holding to the driver. The two looked to be arguing about something. Maybe it was something about the quickest route to their secret evil base of plot twisting schemes. Whatever it was it was a good thing that they stalled long enough to buy Patricia some time. The woman at the front desk smiled and tended to some forms that were in front of her.

The green Twi'lek wore a name badge on her shirt that read "Jade". Jade lifted her head at the words of her fellow kin and gave a smile that bore the dimples of her gentle face. It was a smile that looked to be reserved for hotel guests and good memories, it looked nice on the woman and she probably knew it did. "Oh, hello miss.." Letting the word miss draw for a moment she tried to remember the name of the Jedi who now stood in front of her. With a small snap to her memory a light shined in her head and she spoke "Miss Tann." She said with a smile. "I hope everything is going well, can I help you with something?" Jade said in a friendly and genuine voice.

"As long as it can bring us to wherever we need, pink is okay!" She said, with a low voice to the girl that is outside looking for a speeder. She looked at her surroundings, that the men they were chasing were still there, doing some fixes in their truck to make sure they could run away. The way the things were going, she understood that man in the black robes understood that they were following him, so he was trying to stall them long enough, maybe he was already gone and they were going for a false ride, the only thing to understand that was to follow the suspects to their hideout. "Hello... Jade. I just want to ask a question, that's all." she talked to the Twi'lek as she saw her name from the tag. The nervousness of her was now totally gone, she was calm and smiling. But faces of people were always liars, the ones telling the truth were eyes. And in her eyes, she could see the nervousness was still there. "Umm... okay, sure. What did you want to ask?" Jade talked, the Twi'lek accent could be read from her voice. She knew the basic language, but she was bad at it.

"Jade... I am a padawan of the Silver Jedi. And she is a republic agent." She showed Patricia with her eyes, Jade followed her gaze to look at the blonde. She continued, getting down to business. "We are investigating a suspect, possibly the kidnapper of a merchant, that the man in black robes you talked minutes ago. Do you know anything about it? If you know anything that can help us, please tell me. " She didn't say the merchant's name, thinking that it would be classified. Jade was still acting calm but she could sense anger and fear were growing inside her, she made a fist and bit her lower lip. Whatever she was going to say, she would lie. "I don't know anything about the man, we just talked because they paid for their rooms, Miss Tann." She noticed a movement, Jade's hands slowly moved towards her pocket. "That didn't look like just a pay, Jade... You are hiding something, and it's not good for you. Now tell me what you really know." She insisted for an answer, but all she was doing was smiling and trying to act cool. Nima was getting angry, the darkness inside her was trying to escape once again. "I already told you it was just my business. So I can't help you... I don't know that man."

"Okay... Then what's inside your pocket?" Jade was shocked with this question and immediately tried to evade the question. "Nothing, miss Tann. Just some money." But Nima didn't believe her, not even a bit. So she smiled and moved towards her and talked with a serious, cold voice. "Jade... I came here to relax, got 3 days and you are wasting my valuable time. Show me what's inside your pocket, you don't want to mess with a Jedi. NOW!" "But Miss Tann... Ahh kark it. That's enough playing nice." The girl jumped on her with an ancient knife in her hands, making her fall down to the ground. The knife was on her throat, she was a second close to the death. She held her hand tightly and tried to push her off, but she was a strong girl, and she was winning the fight. "You just needed to go. This wasn't supposed to be like this. That man is dead, Republic is dead, you are dead..." she pushed the knife to her throat harder, cutting slightly but Nima's one hand was free. With the fear of death and anger of losing, she searched a thing to weaken her, luckily she found a lamp, just fell to the ground when she jumped to her. With the remaining strength, she crushed the lamp on her head, making her dizzy and Nima got the upper hand. With a reflex, she took the knife from her hand and stabbed her heart, killing her instantly.

She searched her pockets, finding a paper. The paper was like a riddle, and she didn't know what to think of it first, still trying to understand what happened. "Where the lights are gone, darkness is born. Darkness is nothing but our home." What was that supposed to mean? Were they some kind of cult or something? "Patricia.... Are you done yet? Found something interesting." She cleaned the blood from her throat, she was lucky that it didn't cut deeper.

"Don't get your panties in a twist I'm getting the speeder!" Buzzing over the comm piece, Patricia was outside when the whole murder thing went down with the receptionist. To be fair that was pretty hardcore and if Patricia had been there to watch it, things might have home down a little differently and they wouldn't of been stuck with a corpse and a crappy riddle. The sound of Patricia closing a door echoed through the come piece with a hint of static as she mumbled something to herself. "Damn creepy dudes and crazy ass Jedi. Oh look at me and my laser sword and magic blood, I'm just the best!" She said to no one in particular, she had forgotten to turn off her comm piece and now she could be heard by Nima. With the push of a button the engine roared to life on what sounded to be a big speeder. A song steered up on the radio with a heavy bass and key rift and Patricia all but giggled to it

"Ah crap son this is my jam!" Patrica said with laughter staining her voice. Outside the story was quite different, the man in the dark robes finished his argument with the trandoshan and the speeder soared off down the dirt road into the jungle. Patricia had better of shown up and fast or else they would lose their mark all together. Whoever that man was, he was dangerous and this day already had a body count of two and it was no doubtly going to rise. With the song continuing on Nima's comm piece the hook came and Patricia opened up with it

"YOU!!" She said in a dry manly voice "YOU GOT WHAT I NEEHEED!!" The roaring of the speeder came closer and closer to the front doors as well as the song. "BUT YOU SAY HES JUST A FRIEND!! BUT YOU SAY HES JUST A FRIEND!!" Patrica sing with the grace of a dying hyena and to say the least it did NOT sound good. With the high pitched wailing sound of a banshee she hit a raspy high note finishing the hook "OH BABY YOU!!" The comm piece then went to a high pitched screech from feedback and the like that Patricia was there

Rolling up to the front a large pink hummer like speeder waited outside the front door. The thing was built like a tank and it looked like one to. Looking over to Nima through a rolled down window she saw the dead body of the receptionist and Nima over it. She sighed and knew the Jedi did what she had to but dammit it was more paperwork! "Hurry! Get in!" Patricia said as she could see the sith ahead of her down the road about to leave her field of vision

She talked to her comlink as she tried to understand what was this riddle about. Darkness is nothing but our home? She made a genius guess that their hideout was dark and creepy. "Well you are pretty stuck with that crazy Jedi right now, so I suppose you haven't got a chance to complain. And pfft, it's not magic, it's the Force. They're not the same. Force is real, magic is not, dear Miss I Know Everything." She said with a sarcastic tone, not that she's offended by her opinion about her but she liked her way of talking. "How's the search go..." Her words were cut by the song coming from her comlink, and by the Force it was very loud. "REALLY?!? Agent Garter, it was supposed to be a 'silent' mission!" She whispered as the man in the dark robes looked at her. She looked back and acted casually, smiled and turned down the volume a little. "Ahh... This was my only vacation, look what I am doing right now..." She talked to the comlink. This was going to be one of those days, she sighed.

The truck started to move, Patricia was still nowhere to be seen, singing the song that she was hearing, with a very loudly voice. She laughed hearing how she was into the song, and the way she was singing. "That's my girl, come on! Let the song blow my mind, because you are doing that right now!" The high pitched voices that she heard from the comlink was causing her a headache. She was bad at this, very bad. For a second, the voice coming from the comlink cut, the loud voice of a speeder engine coming afterwards. There, she was sitting on that fancy, pink speeder and she looked excited. She moved quickly to the speeder, then sat behind the Republic agent who was smiling evilly as she moved. "Let's never do that again, alright? Leave the singing to me." She laughed, as Patricia started the engine once again, and their mission of following creepy guys has begun.

"That's actually pretty cool! Ohhh, oh my that's a car watch out!!" she said, excitedly trying to hold on, because they were going very fast and it was pretty dangerous to ride against the traffic. "Patricia slow down! We are not trying to kill ourselves!" It was a mistake, it was a mistake... She continued to repeat thinking that words, but no matter how dangerous the journey was, it was exciting too.

Patricia laughed a hue of velvety giggles as the speeder did what it did best, speed. The agent had to catch up to the man in dark robes before they lost them completely. The truck was more than two hundred yards away and it was speeding through worn jungle roads and paths past the city. "Don't get your panties in a twist! I'm the one with the badge after all!" Patricia chuckled again and slammed down on the accelerator propelling the two forward at break neck speeds.

They were starting to close, two hundred yards, one hundred yards, fifty yards, at around twenty five Patricia slowed down and tried to look casual and unnoticed to the man in black ahead of them. Which was hard since they were in the equivalent of a bright pink hummer. "Besides." Patricia said with a more serious tone. "You better start explainng to me with a damn good reason why we just left a body at the hotel? And why you killed her." The agent said coldly in almost an upset manner. Patricia had killed before, but only when she had to. When it was one hundred percent needed. Not like that

"Because if I find out that her life could of been saved I'm bringing you in for man slaughter." Patricia hovered backwards and kept a fair distance between herself and the trandoshan filled truck of bad guys. By the looks of things the man in black robes was going through the hot steamy jungle. But he was going for something. She just didn't know what

"Alright alright, but slow down a little, I don't know about you but I still care for my health." But of course, the agent continued to ride against the traffic with more speed, which was going to cause a heart attack for Nima. They followed the truck in the jungle, and in the city which was a little dangerous, it was known for its thieves. Just as she thought, the truck started to slow down, and Patricia followed, slowly decreasing the speed. "Thank the Force, you were going to kill us..." Nima sighed, instead of hearing her say something cheerful, she met her cold gaze. It was a little out of character for her, considering she was the cheerful type, but she understood that something was wrong. She lifted her right eyebrow as she heard her words, She openly threatened her for killing someone that attacked her first, and Nima's smile disappeared, her serious look replacing it. "Really now? You are going to put me in a jail because I probably saved that Ortega of yours... and your life?"

She wasn't going to just listen and agree with what she said, because she did what was right to do. And it wasn't murder, they were their enemies and one way or another they had to die. "Look, Patricia... When I saved your life from that trandoshan, I had lots of choices, I could spare his life, but I didn't. I was defending you and killing him completed my job. And I didn't mean to attack that Twi'lek too, she was one of my kin... But she attacked me and she was going to kill me... I only defended myself, and in the process, she died. An enemy is always an enemy, with or without weapons and if you don't take care of them when you have the chance, they will live for another day to confront you again, and with more preparation this time, and you'll regret that you didn't finish the job when you had the chance. Now don't tell me they didn't need to die, I know you still think that way. But the right thing to do is sometimes not the popular one. Now, you still want to save that man?" She looked towards the truck, seeing the truck stopped and the man in the black robes was on the move again.

Was the explanation a good one for her to trust her enough, she didn't know. But if they wanted to save a great asset they had to work together and trust each other. "I'll be sure to be more patient this time." She made a promise to the agent, nodding slowly. And she and the agent started to follow them in this dark, twisted city, she knew that she wasn't going to keep that promise for too long.
