With the advent of the Kondoru-class Assault Starfighter, it was realized that a powerful air/space superiority fighter was needed both to engage the more dangerous fighters capable of easily destroying the heavier starfighters fielded by the Asahians and to dominate the field in air/space superiority. Engineers and designers kept both tradition and technology at the forefront of their minds when designing an Elite Starfighter capable of fulfilling these roles. The fruit of their labors was the greatest Elite Starfighter in the Asahian fleet to date: the Misago-class Starfighter.

The Misago features a brutal array of weaponry in the form of twin heavy lasercannons, a heavy ion cannon, and a homing warhead launcher capable of swapping between concussion missiles or proton torpedoes (loadout assigned prior to mission). This combination of weaponry wielded by the best pilots Asahi has to offer makes the Misago a cruel mistress of the skies. Capable of taking a beating while still maintaining speed and maneuverability equivalent to most known starfighters, the Misago dominates the field with relative ease. In the hands of an elite fighter ace, this ship is nearly unstoppable.

This is not to say the Misago is invulnerable, however. The Misago features heavier armor than a regular starfighter and still maintains adequate speed, but the armor can still be penetrated. Heavier weapons or a direct, solid hit from an adequately large caliber weapon, usually fielded on capital ships, can take down the Misago. The Misago also features no shields whatsoever. Also, interceptors, while generally shredded by the Misago's guns, can outmaneuver the ship, getting behind the Elite fighter and targeting critical components such as the engines.

Couple of things.
  • Again, make note of the lack of shields for clarity.
  • You need to knock your warhead count down to 6.
  • Please specify what type of warheads you're carrying.
  • Elite fighters are the elite, you're not going to have more than a wing of them across the whole faction. From your description though it sounds like these will be pretty standard in combat in line with mass-produced fighters.

Gotcha. Edited.

Okey doke. Figured I could combine the total warhead count together and then drop a few to make it work (I think the ultimate combined total was 12, but I could be wrong). I'll edit to 6, but is there a way I could bump it to 8 total? I'd like to maintain combat effectiveness as long as possible. If not, no worries and I'll leave it at 6.

Um, I'll be honest. I'm not 100% sure what you mean. I assumed it was a standard warhead launcher ammo type with a homing missile modifier. Standard warheads carried are proton torpedoes (going off the X-Wing here), but I don't think it was explicitly stated in the guide. Could I get some clarification here?

They're minor production, which is the max production available for Elite Starfighters. That said, I don't plan to spam them like the Taka-class in every engagement. Also, we don't have a clearly stated fighter organization chart listed in the guide or anywhere else I can find (working on that with [member="Ayden Cater"] however). I mainly plan on using them as escorts for other Elite fighters, Elite reserves in combat, and/or a tougher spine or backbone for the starfighter corps. In the sense of standard issue/equal with mass produced fighters, that's not the case. Standard procedure would be to use them as the aforementioned roles in the last sentence. Also, I don't plan on these being carried by anything lighter than a Light Star Destroyer as smaller ships really don't need them.

The homing has a x2 modifier now, as for the warhead type I was asking if it carried concussion missiles or proton torpedoes. Could be switched out though, just make a note. As for what I was talking about with the elite, that was just a reminder not to have these as your main fighters in every engagement and so on. Your description kinda made them sound like that.

I edited in the variability to clarify. As for the numbers, I don't think I'd carry more than two squadrons at once and even then that would only happen on maybe a Command SD sized Carrier/Support ship. Anything else would have maybe one squadron. They're not for spamming, they're more for countering enemy Elite Fighters or for escorting other craft to important objectives. Kind of like a "You showed up with your hard hitters, I might as well show up with mine" type deal.
