Private Mirror, Mirror | Queen of the Deal

The waters of Vizcanyo Bay glittered like glass beneath the late afternoon sun.

The vast crescent of the coastline stretched for kilometers, its turquoise waters dotted with pleasure yachts, corporate cruisers and sleek ferries weaving between the marinas. Along the shoreline, palm trees swayed above promenades lined with cafés, open-air markets, and gleaming resort towers whose glass facades reflected the ocean like mirrors.

It was a city built on warmth, water, and wealth.

If Qosantyra was the ceremonial heart of the Commonwealth, Vizcanyo Bay was its economic pulse.

The Coral Lumina District rose along the most exclusive stretch of the waterfront. Elegant villas and high-rise residences overlooked private marinas where luxury craft drifted lazily between corporate transports and cargo barges moving toward the deeper shipping lanes beyond the bay. Here, secluded gardens and discreet security offered privacy to those whose negoations shaped the fortunes of entire worlds.

Deals like this were rarely made in palaces. They were, instead made in places like Vizcanyo Bay.

On the upper terrace of a waterfront pavilion, Ivalyn Yvarro stood overlooking the marina below.

Warm ocean air moved gently across the bay, carrying the distant hum of speedboats and the laughter of tourists along the boardwalks further down the coast. The deep navy blue folds of her attire stirred softly in the breeze as she rested one hand against the granite railing, watching the quiet choreography of commerce unfolding below.

Trade was the lifeblood of the Commonwealth. Vizcanyo Bay was just one of its beating hearts.

Far overhead, a sleek corporate shuttle descended through the sky, its hull catching the sunlight as it approached the district's private landing platforms.

Emilia Locke had arrived.

The location for the day's meeting had not been chosen without purpose. The Commonwealth could have hosted Locke in Qosantyra's marble halls beneath the domes of the Hyacinth Palace. Business, though, rarely flourished in rooms filled with ceremony. It flourished where wealth was visible. Where trade moved freely. Where opportunity stretched outward like the open sea.

Below the terrace, a row of luxury yachts rocked gently in the harbor, their polished hulls bearing the insignias of shipping magnates, banking houses, and corporate dynasties from across the Outer Rim.

Somewhere beyond the skyline, cargo freighters were already moving through the Commonwealth's vast network of trade corridors, thousands of routes carrying millions of shipments between worlds.

Today's meeting, however; was not about the routes that already existed. It was about the ones yet to be built.

The Pasha watched as Emilia Locke's speeder settled gracefully onto the landing platform behind the pavilion. Corporate power and sovereign power rarely met as equals.

Yet sometimes they did.

Behind her, the pavilion doors opened quietly as attendants prepared the private conference suite overlooking the ocean. A faint smile touched her lips. Business negotiations, she had learned, were not always about the numbers. Sometimes, they were about vision, and today... She intended to introduce the future of the Commonwealth to Ms. Emilia Locke.

The shuttle settled onto the private landing platform with little more than the muted hiss of repulsors before its engines wound down into silence. Emilia remained seated until the cabin door had fully opened, gathering her datapad from the seat beside her before stepping out into the warm coastal air.

The difference between Naboo and Vizcanyo Bay was immediate. Naboo's beauty had always felt organic, shaped around its rivers and hills until cities seemed to grow naturally from the landscape. Here, everything reflected deliberate ambition. The waterfront below was alive with movement as luxury yachts drifted between private marinas while cargo vessels traced steady paths toward the deeper shipping lanes beyond the bay. Commerce wasn't hidden behind polished facades it was part of the view itself. Emilia paused for only a moment, letting her eyes travel across the harbor, an interesting choice. A palace would have spoken of history, tradition, and sovereignty. This spoke of the confidence of open markets, established trade, and an economy comfortable enough to place its prosperity on full display. It was less an exhibition than a statement. One she understood.

Locke Capital Investments were measured by the strength beneath the presentation, and first impressions only mattered when they accurately reflected the foundation supporting them. Thus far, the Commonwealth appeared to understand that distinction. A member of the reception staff approached, offering a courteous greeting before leading her toward the pavilion overlooking the bay. Emilia followed at an unhurried pace, her attention wandering only briefly across the terraces and the steady rhythm of business continuing below.

As she stepped onto the upper terrace, her gaze found the woman waiting at the granite balustrade. "Grand Vizier, Emilia Locke." Emilia inclined her head in a gesture that was respectful without becoming ceremonial, the faintest smile accompanying it. "Thank you for the invitation. I must admit, you've chosen an excellent venue." Her eyes drifted briefly back toward the marina before returning to Ivalyn. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you."
