Mirror into past

Captain, a rank she had earned, it came with the desk job...and training of new recruits, to which she was eager to do so, for they were the next in line to take the mantles up...or fall in combat while serving their leader

She looked around the lecture hall...she never imagined herself setting in the spot where the teacher would stand...but life seemed odd like that...either way, she waited for the student to file in...she had chosen one out of the bunch who's marks...reminded her of her own

[member="Luna Terrik"]

Breath.

She told herself this over and over again, as she stood outside the lecture hall, trying calm her nerves. This was the first place she was told to go after landing on Dosuun and getting settled in her new quarters. This was supposed to be the meeting with the squadron commander that solidified her place in the FO navy squadrons. Taking one final, deep breath, the red head clasped her black leather gloved hands in front of her, and proceeded into the large meeting area.

Proceeding to the front of the hall where a senior officer appeared to be waiting for her, the thought crossed her mind that she might be late. Trying her best to shake the unhelpful thoughts from her head, the flight officer stopped a few feet from the senior officer, standing at attention, awaiting her command. "Flight Officer Luna Terrik, reporting."

Norin mostly spent his time in space on his ship. However events had him on the ground on Dosuun for the moment. While he there he decided to take a look around the announcements from command. Eventually he made his way to the page covering recent promotions and saw a familiar name. Norin smiled with a chuckle deciding to drop in on his old painting buddy.

So Norin in uniform of course made his way over to the lecture hall where all the other desk monkeys.........he meant senior staff had offices. He whistled silently too himself as he walked. In no time he reached his destination.

Strolling up he knocked briefly on the door frame before stepping. He only spared a quick glance at [member="Luna Terrik"] who appeared to be a new pilot before popping to attention and speaking to [member="Sara Lee Jones"] with a smile.

"I believe a congratulations are in order.............Ma'am."

He paused for a brief moment.

"Sorry to interrupt.........just caught the announcement and wanted to pop in before I had to be back aboard the Hammershot."

[member="Luna Terrik"] [member="Norin Kellarov"]
She gave a smile, she heard the knock and turned towards the door, a smile on her face grew as she gave a salute to norin

why thank you sir, means a lot coming from someone else, and your not interrupting much....in fact think you can stay and watch a bit maybe offer some advice

She turned to [member="Luna Terrik"] and offered her a salute

flight officer, I am captain Jones of the bolt squadron, you might be wondering why your here alone and not with any colleagues...it's because I rather potential to be taught one on one and flourish then teach the pace of a whole, and to my right is officer kellarov of the hammer shot, correct the rank if I'm wrong sir, now then, miss Luna, I don't know own what you know, so grab a holo pad and list what you do know...ohe and you'll have five minutes...see to it

Oh joy. There's a second officer now, as if she needed any other reason to be absolutely terrified of this situation. She tried her best to give the officer a quick smile before continuing to stand at attention before the commander of the bolt squadron.

She nodded quickly at the command, responding promptly. "Yes, of course. Right away." Reaching behind her to grab the datapad, and began listing everything she had learned from basic training. Basic maneuvers, TIE fighter engineering, and extreme basic battlefield tactics. It wasn't a lot, but it was all she had been taught during her time at the Academy on Bespin.

Taking the datapad back to the squadron leader, she gave her a small smile before standing back at attention.

[member="Sara Lee Jones"] [member="Norin Kellarov"]

She was nervous...yet she could see the ambitious spirit underneath...when she turned she gave a slight smile, she could see the girl she was five years ago...untouched by war....just a pilot eager to get flying for her leader

She returned her neutral look, she took the pad and looked it over...so her marks from the academy weren't faked...she was impressed...she let a smile come to her face as she looked to her

and so your potential is true, this is exactly what a fresh out of the Academy flight officer should know...Alright then flight officer Luna, I think I'll give you a offer...a trial if you will, I will offer a position to you...as bolt 2....mind you this isn't permanent till I reach a final decision, your test to get in will be combat...if you can hold up against it....then you've earned your place here...now then follow me

She started moving to the hangar, where a tie sat, it looked like the bombers only the weapons pod was empty with another cock pit, a training tie

i hope you received flight training, if not shouldn't be a problem you seem to be the type to learn fairly quickly

If norin followed he'd be able to watch

[member="Luna Terrik"] [member="Norin Kellarov"]

Norin chuckled.

"Maybe to celebrate we could attend another art class at the University."

He turned towards [member="Luna Terrik"] extending a hand to the girl.

"Commander Norin Kellarov. The Hammershot is a Heavy Cruiser."

He would then take a step back and watch how Sara interacted with her fellow pilots. At first glance Sara seemed to be an intellectual based leader. It certainly was a different approach than he had. If it had been me then he would have had Luna meet him on the flight deck, jump in a fighter, and see what she knew. Then again he was the guy who used to fly twenty feet off the ground at max speed. It was the differences that made the galaxy great.

[member="Sara Lee Jones"]

as one of the best pilots to come just come out of the acadamy (not the best student by far) he was called to the hanger. unsure why he was summoned but he was told there was flying so he didn't mind. he always loved tie fighters and flying since he was a kid, and now he's living his dream it took him alot of hard work to pass the classroom aspect of the course, but the flying, that was easy. he stood near a training tie fighter, not the interceptors he liked, waiting for his orders. he see's [member="Luna Terrik"] and Captain [member="Sara Lee Jones"] walk in the hanger and toward a training tie (looking much like a bomber)
be for the Captain reached the tie he called out. "Captain Lee, Orders?"

The training tie looked much to the description of a TIE bomber. Quickly she ran over the statistics in her head of all what the TIE bomber did. It was slow, which meant worse in a dogfight because of the slow turns. Alternatively, the blasters were slightly more powerful than a TIE fighter, which could work to her advantage.

Walking side by side with the squadron leader, she gave the other flight officer a small smile before walking over to stand beside him at attention. The redhead figured that he would be finishing his training alongside her, so it only made sense to stand beside him while waiting for orders.

"I am ready as well, Captain." She stood at attention, ready to begin.

[member="Quin Leeman"] [member="Norin Kellarov"] [member="Sara Lee Jones"]

Norin walked a few feet behind [member="Luna Terrik"] and [member="Sara Lee Jones"] quietly. He would pop into view after [member="Quin Leeman"] reported to Sara. He smiled looking around the hanger. It had been a long time since he had sat in the cockpit of a fighter. It just wasn't his role anymore...........he had a different job now.

He turned to Sara with a smile.

"Hey look at that............your class size just doubled. It's a shame you don't have a rabbit to chase. Shooting a drones just isn't as much fun as the real deal."

He smirked.

"You ever flown so low you good literally reach out and touch the tree tops? There is no rush like it."

Norin looked at the new face of Quin.

"Commander Kellarov.............FIV Hammershot........part of Battle Group Imperator. You got a name?"

not seeing the other office enter caught Quin off guard of a second, but just one second. he snapped to attention facing Commander [member="Norin Kellarov"]. quickly replying "Quin Leeman sir. an honor to meet you sir." drone shooting, ugh he did this so many times he beat almost all time records in this area and was quite frankly tired of the petty training. he knew he was ready to try his hand at a 1v1 dog fight. he would be flying a single cockpit Tie/FO Starfighter with training weapons on it today. [member="Luna Terrik"] [member="Sara Lee Jones"]

[member="Luna Terrik"] [member="Quin Leeman"] [member="Norin Kellarov"]

Sara looked over at quin, she turned a s she gave a smile as she looked to norin and got a grin

Luna get the tie ready please and thank you quin hop into...uhhh....get in a tie with the training weapons...get it ready norin a word

She pulled norin aside and whispered

first off if you wanna another drawing session I think I'll be the model this time make it different. Second wait a few minutes after we take off and take off set up a ambush for the two...should be fun

She turned as she started for the training beer getting inside ithe

Norin chuckled looking at Quin.

"At ease at ease Mr. Leeman no need for all that. This is the flight line...the hanger bay. Save that for the classroom and parades."

He turned towards Sara as she pulled him off to the side. He chuckled at her response turning to the group and giving them a warm smile.

"Well Ladies......gentleman.........enjoy your flights. I will see you all later.........drinks are on me."

Norin turned and moved towards the door stopping briefly to turn towards hanger control. He spoke with them for a minute before he left the hanger bay to go retrieve some equipment for the day.

Cracking her knucles though the dense, black pilots gloves, Luna took ot the ladder, climbing up it and into the starfighter. Opening the hatch, she slid her way inside, getting comfortable in her seat before pulling the safety harness over her shoulders.

Taking a small breah to relax herself, the redhead began to go through the preflight checklist. Computer? Powered on. Targeting system? Corrected. Fuel? Full. Everything checked out, and she gave the flight control the 'alls clear' signal before slowly powering up the massive craft.

"Here we go.." Taking one final breath to steady herself, she took her helmet into her hands, slid it on, and connected the oxygen tubes to their right connectors. Grinning to herself, she eased the throttle forward, shooting the TIE out of the hanger into the awaiting darkness of space.

He ran to the Tie fighter, ecstatic to fly, scrambling to throw on his flight helmet. he climbed into the tie. taking his time going thru the list, computer, life support, weapons systems, fuel, and engines. all good. he left of the targeting computer off, he didn't need it. he made sure his air hose was connected. he was ready. [member="Luna Terrik"] took off in her tie with [member="Sara Lee Jones"] in the 2nd cockpit. Quin carefully lifted the tie off the rack and proceded to exit the hanger. "time to kick some a$$" punching the throttle.

Norin chuckled watching the two new recruits...........sorry pilots race off like it was there first time in a fighter. He smiled looking down at the borrowed equipment in front of him. True he had felt the itch............the call of a chance to get back into a fighter and go screaming around in space faster than man was meant to go. He sat there for a long time just staring at it. In the end he could bring himself to do it. Instead he pulled to envelopes out of his pocket and wedged them in the door of Sara's new office. One was addressed to her and the other to Commodore [member="Carlyle Rausgeber"] of Battle Group Imperator.

To Sara he expressed his pleasure in meeting her and getting to know her during what little time they had together.

To the Commodore it was his letter Resigning his commission as a Commander in the First Order Navy. It was formal and concise adhering to Navy and First Order protocol.

Both letters were a move he felt he had to do and it was something that had weighed heavily on him for a few weeks now. It was long over due and Norin walked down the hallway in silence. It was a decision he had been fighting with for a while but once done gave him a sense of peace.

Sara smiled, she had gotten herself ready and everything, checking her controls to make sure in the event she needed to take immediate control, she then sat back as she felt the tie rise up then immediately out, she hopped the comms to speak to [member="Quin Leeman"]

flight officer Leeman move into escort position on flight officer Terrik please ....now their is a few targets out there in the field...we shall practice a being run and a follow up barrage on them understood?

Quin received his orders and knew the precisely what he had to do. he increased his throttle just enough to gain some distance from Captain [member="Sara Lee Jones"] and flight officer [member="Luna Terrik"]. approximately 20 meters in front. he made sure the training weapons where primed and ready to fire. All good. a few seconds later he saw the targets, right out in the open. he felt something was off, like there was something he was missing, something else out there. almost like it was a trap. he immediately went to the comms " Flight officer Terrik, evasive maneuvers, execute, execute, execute." he slammed into a upward barrel-roll coming at a asteroid and swinging around it seeing his target, another training tie an interceptor thought. he was lucky, the interceptor did not see him come behind him, Quin fired several shot directly at it , hoping he disabled it. but he hade no time to think, there where several more to "eliminate". he flew towards his next target.

'Huh. She set up and ambush. Interesting.' The redhead thought to herself as she began to analyze the situation. Four TIE fighters flying in a diamond formation right outside the astroid field, seemingly undetered by the new visitors to the area. Meaning they were attemping to draw the newbies into the open and use their superior numbers to beat them.

The redhead bit her lip in thought, before coming up with an idea. Radioing her fellow flyers, the newbie hatched her plan to them. "Quin, theyre obviously trying to draw us out of the astroid field into the open, so that they can beat us with superior numbers. I've got a plan, and i think it'll work. Form up behind me when I into the field. We're going to try to draw them in there. Use the astroids as cover to beat the fact they have better numbers."

Closing the comm, she let out a small breath before heading into the field, hoping Quin followed up behind her.

[member="Sara Lee Jones"] [member="Norin Kellarov"] [member="Quin Leeman"]

Quin saw the fighters and knew they where trying to draw then in. but [member="Luna Terrik"] said something that intrigued him. she had a plan but he knew not to question the pilot. he readjusted his position to be at her 5 o'clock high, that way he could see every thing without having her TIE in the way. he hailed her, "Complying with orders, at your 5 o'clock. I like it, use what would normally be a disadvantage to our advantage, waiting on next orders. lets have some fun." as he formed up behind her they speed into the asteroid field.
