WhY iS iT sPiCy?! | Miren was born and raised in a cult centered around the use of fire, and was trained to wield it to protect her religion. She may no longer believe in her god, but her ability to control fire and heat with precision remains.

Smart As A Whip | They say common sense isn’t common, but Miren has that and booksmarts in spades.

+/-

Distrustful
| As much a help as a hindrance, Miren has learned others are not to be trusted. This means it’s difficult to pull the wool over her eyes, but she might also pass up a golden opportunity due to paranoia.

WEAKNESSES

Uh, Where’s The Start Button? | The Heralds allowed absolutely no use of technology. In a galaxy driven by nothing but, Miren finds herself adrift in a sea of things she couldn’t even begin to know how to use, from computers to weapons.

Illiterate | The Heralds have a completely oral tradition, and therefore only a chosen few among them ever learn to read or write. Miren wasn’t one of them.

APPEARANCE | As a Shi’ido, Miren has the ability to shapeshift. Due to her relatively young age for her species, she does not have the ability to change easily at will in to anything she’d like, and therefore usually sticks to a few tried and true appearances. However, few have ever seen her looking as anything but a reddish-blonde woman of average height and weight, with green eyes and a nose slightly too large for her face.

BIOGRAPHY | Born on Maena, Miren knew very little of the world outside her homeworld’s atmosphere until recently. The Heralds are a cult following the god Xoth-za, a man who lived hundreds of thousands of years prior to the events of today, who according to his followers ascended after killing his people’s oldest enemies in a great battle. He and his people wielded fire with a mastery unknown anywhere, and Miren’s people - generations upon generations later - still cultivated this skill in the hopes that one day Xoth-za will return to speak to them through the flames.

But Miren wasn’t so sure. Days, weeks, months, years on end without so much as a sign. Disillusionment crept in like a rot, showing her things that at first she didn’t want to contemplate about what the reality of the world might be. She had too many questions, too many doubts, each piling one on top of the other.

Until one day she was excommunicated, thrust out from the only home she’d ever known in to a galaxy much more complicated than she could ever have imagined...
