Mining Phrikin' Ore

Causstik Rahn landed his ship on Alderaan. He exited his vessel and signed a few papers the dock master brought him. After much bureaucracy and a few hundred signatures Causstik simply bribed the man to go away. He walked the length of the spaceport, bought a small snack for an outrageous amount of money and finally found the exit. He rented a speeder to a near by mine. During the trip the cab driver played annoying music that Causstik did not understand a single word of and talked on a head set device to an unseen customer about the wonders of "Doshani Flat Cakes". Upon arrival he was stopped by a fellow Mandalorian. They exchanged a few words and he was aloud to enter, but only after being pressured into giving out his personal information for local buisness adds. Causstik walked into the forge and found a hover cart, which charged him sixty credits by the hour. Causstik sighed. He pushed the cart through the length of the mine until he found a large Vein of Phrikite ore. He began swinging his pick axe and it broke almost immediately. He forgot he'd need a phrik axe. Which he could conveniently find available for rent in the gift shop. Causstik walked back up the length of the mine and into the gift shop where he rented the pick axe. The cashier attempted multiple times to convince Causstik to purchase the warranty, but Causstik was adamant on the fact that he would not need the warranty. He got extremly angry and shouted at the clerk immediately after which he apologized. The guy was only doing his job after all. After all was settled Causstik went back to the vein he had found only to discover someone else using it. He grumbled a little and found a new, smaller vein. He swung with all the anger that had been building in the monster since he got on Alderaan and the rock exploded. Showering the surrounding area in the precious ore. That felt good.

Causstik Rahn began picking up the ore and loading into the hover cart. It was already half full when he was finished. He went back to his vein and swung axe again and again. He picked up the ore and loaded it into the cart. He did this multiple times then decided it was taking to long.

Five minutes later

Causstik sat behind a large boulder near the vein he had been digging. He had rigged it with multiple grenades and now held the detonator in his hand. He pressed the button and was met with a satisfying BOOM. He exited the cover of the boulder and began picking up more ore. He loaded the rest of the content into the cart and quickly filled it. He began pushing the cart when suddenly it refused to budge. His hour was up. Causstik put in another sixty credits and the cart whirred back to life. He pushed it up the hill and into the forge. He unloaded the ore in a near by locker and left to go gather fire material for the forge.

The forge was long, thin and had air holes to feed the fire. Causstik had just bought a ton of coal for the forge from the gift shop and was wheeling it back to the metal working area. He fed and tended the fire for forty hours as he had been taught. He fed it forty tons of coal and the heat was sweltering. It felt good on his scales. Causstik was told the ancient traditions were best. Whatever that meant. The truth is this was the only way Causstik knew how, if there was an easier way he would've gladly done it. Causstik threw his old Beskar'gam in the forge. When the metal had melted he poured it into a chain mold. Once it cooled he weaved it into a nice set of chain mail under armor. He set on to a nearby mannequin to admire his work. The pants would be a little baggy...

Once Causstik was finished weaving his Beskar Chain mail. He had to re-stoke the fire. He bought another forty tons of coal. Heated the furnace for another forty hours. Then he began pouring the phrik into the furnace. The metal took a few days to melt even at such extreme temperatures. Causstik found himself doing spice just to stay up and watch the forge. When the metal finally melted he waited for the metal to purify then poured it into a cast. He had only enough to make the chest plate and pauldrons. He hammered out the imperfections and carved a few designs into the armor plating then lined the armor with fur. For panaz. He set it on a mannequin and admired his work.

When Causstik was finished admiring his work he went right back to monitoring the forge. He did even more spice and stayed up even longer. By the time more of the metal had melted Causstik was beginning to hallucinate from sleep deprivation. He poured the metal into some leg cast and waited for to harden. He pounded out the imperfections then drew his hallucinations into the metal. He atempted to draw a bowl of petunias and came it out something akin to Rosie O'donell. He sighed and set the leg plates on the mannequin. He left the forge and pitched a tent outside for some much needed rest.

Causstik awoke two days later and found the forge completely cold. He bought forty more tons of coal, and shoveled it into the forge. He lit the fuel and began stoking the fire. He stoked it for forty hours and finally when the flames were hot enough he added the metal. He waited several days until the metal finally melted. He had enough for the boots gauntlets and fore arms. He poured the metal into it's respective casings and waited for it to cool. He hammered out the imperfections and stenciled in designs. He placed the armor on the mannequin. He also put knives in his boots, so he could gain better purchase and atched a few blades to the gautlets.

Causstik poured the last of his phrik ore into the forge and stoked the flames. Multiple days later a spice addled Causstik watched as the last of the ore finally melted. He poured the ore into final cast. The one for his helmet. He waited for the armor to cool then took the helmet out of its cast. He hammered out the imperfections and added his own designs. He found a couple of Rancor tusk and attached them to the helmet. He placed it on the mannequin and marveled at his almost complete set of phrik armor. He would just need to add the electronic components and all would be well. He smiled happily to himself.

Causstik placed the crafting lenses on his head and brought the boots, thigh, and shin plates away from the Mannequin. He placed them on the work bench and began wiring the armor. he installed strength stabilizers and neuron inhibitors so that the armor would respond to his movements better. Once he finished this he installed a small pocket for the chain mail Beskar'gam to fit in. When all was said and done he he had a nice lower half of phrik armor.

Causstik set his armor leggings by the door and went to retrieve the top half of his armor. He set the chest plate, fore arms, pauldrons, and gauntlets on the table. He began lacing the armor with the aluminum weave that would help the tiny mother boards communicate with each other and monitor the armor. Then he put the mother boards themselves in. Once this was done he put in neural inhibitors and strength stabilizers to help with mobility. He added a pocket for the Beskar chain mail. When it was all done he set the top half of the armor onto the mannequin again.

Causstik removed the helmet for the final part of the crafting process. He put in the aluminum weave. Installed the mother boards. Typed in the programming that would allow all of the motherboards to communicate and carry out his desired commands. He did not bother to put a visor in. He would not need one. He placed a pocket for the Beskar chain mail and then lined the helmet with fur. He was finally done he placed the helmet on the now complete mannequin.
