OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

  • Intent: To fulfill a special order for [member="Jorco Czeku"]

  • Canon: Ghest

  • Links: Created by GenPals
GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Name: Mini Ghest

  • Designation: Non-Sentient

  • Homeworld: Farana, GenPals Labs, Engineered Species

  • Language: N/A

  • Average Lifespan: 7-12 years

  • Estimated Population: Rare (one created, though more could be. Not for public sale)

  • Description: Reptillian and carnivorous, the GenPals made Mini Ghest is a smaller less foul tempered version of the native Rodian Ghest.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION

  • Breathes: Type 1

  • Average height of adults: 30cm

  • Average length of adults: 75cm

  • Skin color: Greenish tan with a blue-green underbelly.

  • Fur color: N/A

  • Distinctions: Long, flexible body, clawed feet, smooth scales. With a long tongue and slightly bulging blue eyes, the mini ghest looks generally surprised, no matter what else it is feeling.

  • Races: N/A

  • Strengths:
(+)Predatory Roots: Like the Personal Defense line, the Mini Ghest is not created to be merely a friendly companion. It is swift and agile with sharp teeth and claws. While it could seriously injure someone who was unarmored, it would be useless against an armored foe.
(+)Trainable: The Mini Ghest can learn from its mistakes and is able to be trained on tricks and commands.

  • Weaknesses:
(-)No armor: A Mini Ghest’s hide is not resistant in any way to a concerted hit by any sort of weapon.
(-)Sterile: Like all GenPals animals, the Mini Ghest is sterile to discourage irresponsible breeding.
(-)Proprietary: Like all GenPals animals, the Mini Ghest requires GenPals brand food to remain healthy and within warranty. GenPals animals fed non-branded food will eventually weaken and possibly die, as they are engineered with certain nutrition needs only their proprietary blend contains in the right ratios.

CULTURE

  • Diet: GenPals Brand Reptile food. The Mini Ghest should not be fed off brand food or it will void its warranty.

  • Communication: Growls, snaps and hisses

  • Technology level: N/A

  • Religion/Beliefs: N/A

  • General behavior: The Mini Ghest is, by its nature, slightly less affectionate than your average GenPal. That does not mean that it does not make a good companion, simply that it will seek other stimuli first to satisfying it’s basic needs. It will seek out water and warmth, and only then attention. The Mini Ghest should have a shallow pool of water available to it at all times for maximum comfort and happiness. It will exhibit its contentment by periodic head bobbing. A warm, comfortable Mini Ghest may stretch out on a lap, across someone’s shoulders, or beneath a chair, head bobbing all the while. Generally appearing to be fairly lazy creatures, Mini Ghests can move with alarming speed when threatened- or offered food. They need very little in the way of entertainment, ‘boredom’ not really being an issue for this creature. In fact, over stimulation can make the grumpy and prone to biting.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
When the Rodian [member="Jorco Czeku"] approached GenPals about bringing a taste of home into his life, it was a relatively simple order. Already with experience in adapting reptilian species, GenPals procured a sample of the original animal…..

And immediately wondered why anyone would want more of such a creature.

But someone did, and so the scientists set to work. It was easy to take the Ghest out of the swamp, but less so to take the swamp out of the Ghest. Shrunken down with it well known bad attitude tempered, the Mini Ghest held enough of the original to invoke the wilds of Rodia…. But hopefully not enough to make it an unpleasant housemate.
