Minecraft [Phrik Mining On Sletos. Suns & Invite Only]

miningbasespeed2.jpg

Seltos; now here was a world he was familiar with. And a world that was familiar with the old him. Cypher was no longer the Dread Pirate Wilded for all intensive purposes. That name was like a soaking blood rag. This was the reason he formed a new identity when he took over Black Sun as the Underlord. No one would be the wiser.

Now as to why he'd come back to this world. It had to do with his lattest venture, Sun Forged Industries. And specifically its mining division. Seltos was rich in Phrik, a rare ore few worlds held in large enough quantity to profitably mine. Its lightsaber and energy resistance properties would be put to use in the companies other areas to make some arms, armor or just whatever they felt like, and sell them at a very high profit or put it to their own use. Risk was involved here, but the investment was worth it.

Seltos trade authorities accepted the company proposal to open a mine on the world. With the Republic moving in to bring Seltos under the sphere of influence; investment was flooding in. Most of that government money, but entrepreneurs like Cypher were tossing big bucks to get the prime deals while they were still open. This world wasn't in their grip yet.

Over a month has past and the mine was near to the ore lode so samples told. They just needed to dig deeper. Cypher looked out an office window over the mine. He was proud of what they'd done so far. This was his companies first big venture after all. He couldn't loaf around now though, there were things to do.

And why was Lex involved in the whole think?
Well Cypher's operations would most likely need an experienced accountant, like the nerdy Nautolan for example! Who knew books enough to cheat them here and there and get away from it, Lex was also a bit of an infochant and smuggler on the side, another trades that came useful when dealing with new business opportunities.

Getting something off of the planet here and there, gathering up info on the local businessmen, their weaknesses and obsessions, it went a long way when trying to get somebody's favor! Or when trying to manipulate them, more likely.

Either way, everything went smoothly, they got the operation set up on the planet, great, now it was time for actual work. And that mostly involved just machines digging, not much excitement found for the Nautolan there. But at least he would still get paid, and not just in credits, he would be paid in phrik this time around.
So, his tramp freighter, Lady Luck, would enter the orbit of the planet, sending a transmission to Cypher's mining base of operation.

"This is Captain Lex here, coming in for landing, has there been any excitement around today?"
He grinned to himself that brilliant Nautolan grin.

"Nothing to exciting there Lex. Same as its been for a week. We're close. Ohh and you're clear to land". The flight control officer was pretty lax at his job. Not that there was anything urgent to warrant a state of high alertness. For him anyways. He isn't working with heavy mining equipment after all. Word was passed along to Cypher that Lex had arrived. His services would be most welcomed here. Cypher trotted off to the landing pads to meet the captain. He could see his ship coming in as he arrived. A hand was readied to pull up the collar to shield all the dust that was gona fly.

"Copy that!"
Lex responded to the operator, his ship coming down towards the landing ramp, dust blowing every which way on the sandy planet as the tramp freighter's engines did their work at slowing it down.

The ship would touch down with a clank and a soft whirr of engines powering down. The ramp of the ship would extend out towards the ground and the air-lock would open to show the outline of Captain Lex, visible through the dust thanks only to the light of the doorway behind him.
"I come in peace!"
The Nautolan called out, walking down the ramp he would use the side of his Armour-Ani jacket to shield himself from dust as the doors to airlock behind him closed.
"Take me to your- oh, nevermind, there you are."
He would grin to Cypher from behind the jacket as he recognized the Black Suns man.

Lex would put the side of the jacket down as the dust settled after few seconds of the ship landing, he had a pair of goggles on his eyes he kept on, though, because the whole dust and no eyelids things did not mix. Besides, he was kinda a dork.
"I heard there wasn't much going on down here, but we're closing in on the payload, eh?"
He would give that Nautolan grin towards Cypher once more.

The dust really kicked up as Lex's ship touched down. More than just pulling his collar up he had to turn away too. Damn canyon was a poor place to be for the climate it had. Nothing like the forests this world held. But one had to be where the ore was.

"Take me to your- oh, nevermind, there you are."

Well that was nearly a terribly cliche joke. Cypher cringed from behind the clothes he hid behind. The dust was settling down and he took a step around to see the Nautolan coming down the ramp and towards him.

"I heard there wasn't much going on down here, but we're closing in on the payload, eh?"

"Thats what the rock expert says. Close. He's been touting that line forever it seems. There is traces of Phrik in the ground samples we're digging up. Just not enough to process. Its not like we're mining gold". Cypher dropped his collar and stood loose. "What of you though. Safe enough trip I hope"?

Nautolan nodded, smiling a bit as the dust settled, now being able to have a good luck around at the place from the ground, he placed his hands on his hips idly,
"Well one day it's bound to come true."
He grinned, looking back to Cypher at the question of his trip,
"Indeed, no trouble, the Confederacy may be trying to close their fingers about our territory but it's easier and easier to sneak through their lands."
Lex would smirk to Cypher and nod,
"My gut tells me that we're making them nervous and they don't work as well under pressure."

Looking up at the facility again he would smile to himself slightly,
"So, how about we get this meeting inside? No reason to be standing out here in the dust when there's phrik to be discovered at any minute in there."

"Right you are Mr. Matako. Best I check in on progress anyways. And dammed good to hear that from a spacer like you. The Con's are shaky after that big defection. Danger says she has the leader of them working with her. So maybe a little subtlety will have them fighting with us if and when the time comes.". Cypher turned about, facing towards the nearest entry point from the landing pads. A wave of the hand was made to hustle Lex along with him. "Its a good day to be a Sun". Grinning to all their good fortune.

Wendy had been sent.. or really she had simply come trying to find something to do as needed and help out where she could with the suns. After Miss Domino had taken them into the Unknown regions. She had thought that might be the end of the suns but it wasn't and now she was struggling to get down here and help the two other members while not making Domino look like a fool. "Ah what do we need to do?" She walked up straightening the armor and keeping her saber on her hip.

[member="Wendy La Fey"]

Cypher stopped dead in his tracks. reason being Wendy La fey was blocking his way. And she had questions. Or at least one, and as for the answer he was just as puzzled as the girl would be. "Well, me and my friend here were going to check with the rock guy if he's found substantial quantities of Phrik in the ore samples yet. You'd I assume were sent by Domino to check up on me. She has a habit of keeping tabs on folks. That seemingly not the case why don't you come with us. Be our escort guardian for the time being"?

[member="Cypher"]

Sure she could do that... she could protect them and with a nod Wendy stepped to fall into position flanking while her eyes flicked back and forth taking in all that she could. Well at least she wasn't going to trip as she walked .... and then the small cape trailing behind her caught her boot and Wendy felt the finicky slap of gravity as she planted her face into the ground. THe rattling scraping her cheek but she stood back up quickly hoping no one saw it before holding the side of her face.

Cypher spared her them embarrassment of him looking back on her. That loud thunk her armor made when it hit the steel flooring held nothing back. Still a smile came to him, amused but not cruel in nature. "Come along now Fey". The cohort, the guardian, and the leader continued on through the hallways of the offices. "So Wendy. Let me ask you something. A knowledge test. Have you any idea just what Phrik is"?

[member="Cypher"]

"It is a lightweight material that makes a good alternative armor wise to durasteel and provides a good amount of protection. I know the sith empire, the old empire made full suits for their shocktroopers and several have fashioned it into pikes for combating lightsabers." She continued to walk and rolled her shoulders while straightening up... this time paying attention to where her feet went.

[member="Wendy La Fey"]

"Correct. Really all types of weapons can be made of the material. But there are more applications then just armor and pikes. You can armor droids, star fighters even. Of course those require a great amount of material. With luck, this mine will be producing enough for whatever I want, and support other Sun projects. Whenever; if ever; we encounter Jedi or Sith in a hostile situation, I'd like my agents to have a fighting chance". Cypher halted at single door. Behind it was a lab the geologists and other scientists did their work. "I've read you used to be in the Order. Whether you still care, I don't hold anything against the Jedi. Only individual members who have some superiority and morality high ground they claim. And the two who humiliated me". Shrugging before a response could be given, though not meaning to block one. Cypher produced a key card and swiped it. The door opened by him a hand waved for them to enter.

[member="Cypher"]

Yeah she had been in the order and bore it no ill will, Nar Shadda had been interesting to say the least. She wasn't really sure about it or what was happening to it while walking and gave a nod. Armor for soldiers and droids wouldn't besuch a bad thing if it meant they stood a chance same agaist a saber wielder. "I was but I left with Miss Domino on Nixor." She gave a small grin though and wondered about the mine. "You wouldn't believe how much it can be within the order, I never tried to get on that little hill of being morally superior. I prefer doing what is right."

"And to follow ones own code is one of the most noble things you can do. Be you own leader. Just, you know, do what I tell you so long as you consider yourself a Sun. They didn't make me the Underlord for nothing". Cypher and crew entered the lab, and only a dozen or so steps in they were at the seat of the man they'd come to see. The rock guy. Or the metal guy. The title didn't matter much just so long as he had good news that they'd hit pay dirt. "What news on the samples"?

The geologist spun round in his chair to address his boss. "Very good news sir. Twenty four of twenty five of today's samples have yielded mineable amounts of Phrik ore. In other words, we can begin real production by my estimates and lab observations. I think some congratulations are in order"!

"Ayy that they are. All the work and credits are paying off. In my wildest dreams I wouldn't of expected to wind up where I am now". Cypher laughed heartily and shook the mans hand vigorously. Success was a sweet feeling, and profitable. Cypher wheeled around back to Wendy. "Hah, bet you didn't expect that did ya"? A grin wider than ever across his unshaven face.
