OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To Create an Avian Species on Dathomir
  • Canon: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: N/A
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Dathomirian Skydancers
  • Designation: Non-sentient
  • Origins: Dathomir
  • Average Lifespan: 20-25 years
  • Estimated Population: Planetary
  • Description: The Skydancers possess a fearsome look to them, capable of installing fear into smaller prey. Their white feathers are in fact fur, allowing them to filter out the heat that radiates heavily on Dathomir. Their eyes are red in color, and possess a 'beak' filled with razor sharp teeth; and a tongue that has a sticky substance designed to trap and hold prey much smaller than their traditional food source, such as insects and small arachnids.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I
  • Average Height of Adults: 0.762 meters
  • Average Length of Adults: 1.2192 meters
  • Skin color: Pinkish (Featherless)
  • Hair color: White w/ Black Tips
  • Distinctions: There is very little distinctions that separate the males from the females. The males have a more defined color of white to their fur, almost snow white in color. The females have a more reddish tint to their eyes than the males.
  • Races: N/A
  • Force Sensitivity: No
Strengths:
  • Extremely Fast: In terms of speed, there is no aerial species that can rival them. They are, in terms of apex concepts, the top guns on Dathomir.
  • Venomous Bite: They possess a slight neurotoxin in their saliva. The toxin is not powerful to kill, but can incapacitate not only small prey, but species equal to their size, and slightly stun species bigger than themselves. The toxin, more or less, helps breakdown the flesh for easier consumption; and prevents the prey from trying to scamper away.
  • Split Tail Impalers: As their tails begin to wind down toward the end of their bodies, it begins to split, and at the ends are two powerful and staggering appendages capable of piercing flesh. It is a defensive mechanism they implore to prevent being caught and eaten by much bigger prey.
Weaknesses:
  • Skeletal Fragility: Like most avian based species, they too harbor a fragile skeletal system and can be easily crushed with little applied pressure.
  • Poor Eyesight: As a 'bird of prey', they have poor vision. Due to their speed, they must act quickly to catch their prey, keeping close contact when tracking them.
  • Parthenogenesis: This is a type of asexual reproduction where females can produce eggs, and offspring, without fertilization from a male. When this occurs, normally in areas where males are lacking in quantity, the offspring produced are born extremely weak, possessing a high mortality rate that kills eighty-five percent of the offspring that hatches.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Carnivore
  • Communication: They communicate through body language and clicking sounds from their 'beaks'.
  • Technology level: N/A
  • Religion/Beliefs: N/A
  • General behavior: When two Skydancers choose one another through the ritual of courtship, they are mates for life. The work together to raise their young; the male stays at the next guarding the eggs, whilst the female goes out to hunt for food. Skydancers love to hunt, even when they're not looking for food. It's almost like a game of cat and mouse to them. Despite they group together in flocks, they do not pack hunt. They tend to stay away from other species, for the exception of their prey, and will live in the same area or region all their lives; treating it like a personal hunting ground.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The species was never indigenous to the planet of Dathomir. It is believed they were brought over from Peridea when the first Dathomiri first settled on the planet of Dathomir many eons ago. As they did on Peridea, they flourished in the barren wastelands and mountain regions of Dathomir. Quickly they took over the regions they lived, quickly outnumbering the other flying animals, pushing them outward.

They mainly hunt for small ground based animals, other birds, insects, and arachnids; but will scavenge for food if presentable. They are rarely seen outside their regional habitats, but are hunted by the Nightsisters and Night brothers for their meat, that has a high concentration of protein and other nutrients.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To Create a Flying Dragon Beast
  • Canon: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: N/A
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Chthonyx Dragon
  • Designation: Non-sentient
  • Origins: Dathomir
  • Average Lifespan: 125 - 150 years
  • Estimated Population: Rare
  • Description: Their body is midnight black that is covered equally with midnight black hair, with golden hue color eyes. They have a long tail that possesses small spikes used mainly for protection, and two very long horns atop their head. They have very sharp teeth and massive arching leathery wings. Thier legs are long, almost crippling like in appearance.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I
  • Average Height of Adults: 2.1336 meters
  • Average Length of Adults: 1.524 meters
  • Skin color: Midnight Black
  • Hair color: Midnight Black
  • Distinctions: They are nothing like any know dragon species, a unique species in their own right. Males tend to be more muscular in design, whilst the female tend to be sleeker.
  • Races: N/A
  • Force Sensitivity: Force Dead
Strengths:
  • Force Eater: The Chthonyx Dragon feeds off the energy radiating from the Force. It can be from a Force user, a Force imbued object, or from Force infused flora and fauna. Sapping the target of its Force energy, effectively robbing a Force user of their ability to use the Force, or an object to remain imbued.
  • Enhanced Night Vision: The dragon possesses highly enhanced night vision, allowing the dragon to see as clearly as if the sun was out.
  • Fire Breather: The Chthonyx Dragon has the capability of breathing high temperature fire from its mouth. The fire's temperature can reach up to four-thousand and two-hundred degrees Celsius. The temperature reaches its peak based off the amount of Force energy it siphons. Without the Force energy enhancement, it's temperatures can reach to two-thousand degrees Celsius.
Weaknesses:
  • Nocturnal: The dragons are nocturnal by nature; but caught our in the sun it will grow extremely weak and die
  • Slow Healer: When or if injured, it takes a long time for the dragon to heal and regenerate itself from the afflicted wounds.
  • Low Birth Rate: The Chthonyx Dragon has a low birth rate, meaning seven out ten newborns die in infancy.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Carnivore
  • Communication: Low guttural screeches
  • Technology level: N/A
  • Religion/Beliefs: N/A
  • General behavior: The dragons are extremely aggressive toward other species, including themselves; with the males being more aggressive. After dragons procreate, the male will leave, allowing the female to raise the young dragon alone, due in part to their aggressiveness, which if the male lingers on, the newborn is at risk of being killed by the father. The dragons are nocturnal and only hunt when hunger strikes them. The dragons are extremely territorial, and will attack anything that treads into their territory, including other dragons.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

There was a time eons ago that the Chthonyx Dragon was the supreme apex predator on Dathomir, feared heavily by the Nightsisters, Nightbrothers, and the other species that roamed the planet's surface, but only through myths and legends and campfire stories. The dragons have always been a rare sight, which led to a belief they did not exit at all; with many tales of their sightings by explorers and the Nightsister's deemed false testimonies. This was due in part to the low birth rate that plagued the dragons, keeping their numbers grossly low.

It wasn't until the Clone Wars that the myths of the dragons began to unravel, turning myth and fantasy to reality. Several reports by the CIS began to breathe life into the dragon's existence when General Grievous and his armada came to battle the Nightsisters which during the Battle of Dathomir, or what the Nightsisters called the Massacre of the Nightsisters. The existence of the dragons grew more traction during the Imperial Era when the Galactic Empire began world building on Dathomir, with high-ranking Imperials mentioning the dragons in reports and personal logs.

In a holocron that once belonged to the Sith Lady Darth Talon upon being opened, there she mentioned the dragons on an expedition to Dathomir with her Master, Darth Ruyn. She spoke of how one single dragon nearly destroyed her Master and herself, that only through quick thinking where they able to survive and escape the encounter with their lives. She further explained the ferociousness of the dragon, going as far as calling them "majestic creatures with the power to melt flesh from bone with a single puff".

Throughout history from the fall of the Empire to modern times, sightings of the dragons have become truth over myth and legends. Still rare in viewership, the dragons, despite their low numbers, remain a top tier predator on Dathomir; living far away from villages, towns, and other civilizations, opting for seclusion over contact with the outside world from their domains, which seems to include the few forestry areas of Dathomir and the mountainous regions of the planet.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To Create a Deadly Plant on Dathomir
  • Canon: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: N/A
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Phantom Sanguinary
  • Origins: Dathomir
  • Other Locations: N/A
  • Classification: Ipomoea Alba - Carnivorous Plant
  • Average Growth Cycle: The life cycle of the plant from seedling to maturity to death is roughly 12 months.
  • Viability: The plant requires a temperament environment in which to grow and thrive, while needing at least 10 hours of moonlight to survive. The plant doesn't require water, since it gets its nutrients and such from its prey. The plant can't be harvested, it will die immediately if done so, it will carry its nasty side effect if consumed, which is highly recommended against.
  • Description: During the daylight hours, it appears to be nothing more than a simple folded up plant. However, at night when it blooms it turns into something monstruous. Its petals take on a crimson color whilst in the center emerges a head with a long tongue with top and bottom rows of teeth; the top of the jaw possessing two long dagger-like fangs.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Average Height: 20.32 cm.
  • Average Length: N/A
  • Color: The stem is green in color, whilst the leaves are red in nature. The face is greyish green with red eyes.
  • Nutritional Value: N/A
  • Toxicity: The plant is extremely toxic, mainly from the neurotoxin it possesses. The toxin can only be administered through its bite and will affect the majority of species in the galaxy.
  • Other Effects: If consumed, it will cause extreme nausea and diarrhea in the individual.
  • Distinctions: The most defining distinction is when it blooms at night, changing from harmless plant to a plant riddled with horrifying features.
Strengths:
  • Nocturnal: The plant blooms at night only, lying dormant in a balled-up form during the sunlight hours.
  • Tetanus Toxin: The plant possesses a toxin which is a very potent Neurotoxin that causes Tetanus in those it bites. Mainly, the toxin is used to help subdue its prey, but it will bite passer-byers if feel threatened.
  • Aggressiveness Expansion: The plant is aggressive in its expansion, quickly blooming from dropped seeds, across jungle and forest floors. Though it consumes flesh from small animals and insects, it will attack and destroy nearby plants, dominating the area.
Weaknesses:
  • Short Lifespan: The plant has a really short lifespan after full germination, only twelve months after reaching full maturity.
  • Slow Reproduction Cycle: The entire cycle from pollination to germination is a slow process, with some of the seeds never maturing at all.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The plant known as Phantom Sanguinary has been on Dathomir since the planet's formation. It is unique in design, how it consumes food, and how aggressive it is. The plant was discovered by Gethzeron one night when she was exploring a region of Dathomir whilst brainstorming ideas in her head that would eventually lead to her writing the Book of Shadows. She observed the plant carefully, fascinated by its unique nature and how it ate small animals, something that was unlike anything on Dathomir.

Hoping to take a plant back with her, to plant in her garden with the hopes it would thrive there, it essentially died quickly upon being plucked from the soil. She later observed the secondary effects of the plant when she witnessed one of the plants eaten by one of the accompanying Nightsisters. Over the years upon its discovery, many off-worlder botanists found the plant to be very enchanting, studying it thoroughly; and it was through those studies the plant's mysteries had been unlocked.

Today, the plant can be found thriving in almost every forest, jungle, swamps, and bogs on Dathomir; where they continue to dominate their area aggressively.
