THE HARLEQUIN

Matsu had been at Nixor and with the operation finishing... She let her muscles protest the movements from fighting. Let her hair come down from its top knot while her room on the ship let her breathe in deeply and relax sitting on the bed with her sarashi and pants. No need to be subtle, training the small things with Aika and helping the jedi was a workout like no other. Now was the time to relax and she came to enjoy the rhythmic clicking of the chrono in her room. Then a new sound...

Her eyes squinted searching for it and found the holonet page as the screen turned on. She had left it refreshing before she headed down and there was a message... With an attachment. For moment the jedi master was curious on who would request a Ematch date with her but then she saw a twi-lek and her eyes widened seeing the photo of her posing. Quickly Matsu looked down feeling her face flush while peeking out from behind her hand.

Suhr was quite a nice name... She could do this and sent a reply, then waited for a moment until her heart beat in her throat. CHIRP.... The sound came with a number attached where she could reach the woman and frantically the jedi master moved about getting herself prepared. The cam looking at her while she let her bangs hang over her face framing it. Her blue and white stripped kimono with her tattoo's covered minus the ones on her hands and feet.

She sent the call to the number and breathed in deeply letting the screen display her face with a smile while she did last minute changes. Touch ups to see what might be liked, oh she was so nervous now with butterflies in her stomach.

Suhr blinked. She was in her private quarters and had been half asleep when she heard the bleep-blip-bleep of the holo-communicator going off. Groggily she stumbled off her bed and made her way in a zombie like manner towards the holo unit. There was a readout on it, a name. Matsu Ike? It sounded familar. Matsu... Matsu... Where do I-

It dawned on her.

Feth! Matsu was the Jedi she contacted. Oh feth oh feth. Suhr ran around the room, throwing bits of unclean clothing into the nearest hiding place. She quickly threw on some clothes - A grey tank top and some brown bantha-leather skintight trousers. Her Lekku hung down the front of her chest, and went some way to make her features stand out a little more. She quickly brushed the sleep out of her eyes, cleared her throat and tapped the answer button on the holo, so that the Jedi wouldn't think she wasn't going to answer. For all her attempts to look calm, Suhr's heart was going a thousand parsecs an hour.

"Uh.. He-Hello?" Suhr stuttered. For all her confidence at the keyboard, she certainly wasn't expecting a call from Matsu - Naive on her part, but still. She took in the sights that the Jedi had to offer - A fine blue and white striped Kimono, and a face framed by bangs... She resisted the urge to bite her lip. "This is Suhr... You're uh... Master Ike, right? Should I call you that? Or..." Her confidence was falling. Suhr had never spoken to a Jedi on informal terms before in her life, and to have one ring up like this was daunting at best. Not that Matsu could see it through the blue shades of the holo, but Suhr was blushing - at least as much as a Twi'lek could. Her voice was evidently full of nerves, however... "Sorry, I'm... A little nervous." She admitted it begrudgingly - Suhr didn't like to appear timid, but the Jedi was on the other side of the Galaxy, and the other side of a hologram. Suhr breathed out and closed her eyes for a moment to clear her mind, before opening her eyelids with a light flutter and smiling towards the camera.

Matsu looked in the image of the twi-lek and bowed her head offering a smile. She was quite a sight to behold and the jedi master bit her lower lip a little as she blanked on what to say. Her mind raced a million parsecs a second to think of something clever or witty but she couldn't. "Hello and I am as well. This is a first time for me, I've never. Well I have but never on the holonet. Oh listen to me sounding like a nervous girl after her first kiss." Matsu took a breathe in and let it out with a shuddering breathe. Okay one word at a time and she was on the other end of the galaxy... Or somewhere. Not in the room

"You may call me Matsu, Miss Suhr. The master title is only a formality and used within the jedi." There that was easy and she could do much as it stood within the bounds of this conversation. "Now then I think my nerves have stopped making my stomach dance, you know what I do being a jedi. Can I ask what you do? Your profile was quite interesting when I got the chance to check it. It is always nice to meet someone with a good sense of humor."

Suhr smiled sheepishly at the Jedi's hologram. She was captivating, at least to the young Twi'lek. And she was nervous too! Suhr's mind spun, and she tapped the holo unit so it could move on a repulsor unit underneath it. She calmly used the force to nudge it over to a seat so she didn't have to risk collapsing in front of Matsu - The embarrassment alone would have been fatal.
"Matsu... Right... Uh... Y-you can just call me Suhr, Matsu. If uh, we're not being formal and all that." It was clear Suhr was still nervous, even though she was sat down. She made a point of crossing her legs to appear a little more cultured - She thought culture would stand her in good stead with a Jedi and all. Oh by the Force she was nervous. It was eating away at her, twisting everything up in ways that she thought would never untangle. "Well, at least someone's nerves have gone, aha." Her laugh was mostly out of nerves, but at least she had a question to answer. Something to think about other than the nerves... "It's uh... A bit of a long story. I guess I'll keep it short for you! Well, uh.. Two? Yeah... Two years ago my... Well. My master, a Jedi, right? Can you believe it? Aha. Anyway. He went missing, and uh, I ended up back on Nar Shaddaa a year ago. Spent that time dancing and, well... Avoiding slavers, really. Oh, and I sabotaged a generator for a load of slave pens so the gates would unlock in the red light sector but I shouldn't really tell you about that and oh gosh I'm rambling I should just stop now uh... H-how's the weather on Coruscant? If uh... If you're even on Coruscant?"
Suhr was as red in the face as she'd ever been in her life. First she couldn't talk, and now her tongue was flopping about like there was no tomorrow - It made her cringe on the inside. Normally she was so composed, she had it together. But here she was falling to bits because of a surprise holocall. By the Force! Suhr began to twirl the tip of her right Lekku around her left finger in an absent minded manner - it was a habit she'd picked up somewhere along the line when she was a little uncomfortable and needed to fidget but couldn't pace about the room for one reason or another.

Matsu listened to her story and was thinking about the parts. She was a former jedi... Who was on Nar Shadda and very nervous. Or at least she had been on Nar Shadda, it was all very interesting but then the question of Coruscant's weather brought a smile to her face. Watching her play with her lekku was also a nice touch it just made her seem more adorable. Like one of those pictures people did where everything was a better life. "Well I am not on Coruscant currently. I am on my ship above Nixor, the jedi have worked to help liberate it. It is really close to Nar Shadda." The jedi master moved the camera so she could be seen sitting more with a smile. "Your story though, you were trained by the jedi, was everything to your liking? We didn't do anything to make you want to stay away did we?" She was very curious about that now and wanted to get to know. "If you have any questions for me Suhr please just ask. I love talking to people."

Oh wow. Thought Suhr. The Jedi's smile only made her insides flutter and move more, and for a moment Suhr averted her eyes from the camera - She realised however that this could be seen as rude, and soon shifted her face back to look at Matsu. Her smile was accentuated by the hair that loosely hung about the sides of her face - She was captivated. She heard something about Nar Shaddaa, and snapped out of her slight daydream about Matsu's face...

"Wait, wait... Nar Shaddaa? You're close to Nar Shaddaa?!" She panicked a little - This was closer than she thought. And Matsu had a ship! A Ship! Suhr blinked a little in disbelief. "Ech... The one time I wish I was still on that filthy rock... I'm currently in a ship making it's way to the Confederacy..."
She grinned a little bit at the Jedi, but still her finger looped the tip of her Lekku around it. The Lekku slipped away every time, just before it was due to get trapped under yet more Lekku. "If uh... If the Jedi were liberating the planet, did you fight in a battle?" She paused, realising how naive she must have sounded "Not that uh, Jedi should be proud of fighting. That's what I was taught, anyway... Oh and uh, yeah, I guess everything was to my liking, but... I don't know. Part of me wants to find the Order again, the other part wants to see the Galaxy." and maybe if I see all of the Galaxy I can find Master Kytra one day... she added silently.
"I'm uh, really bad with questions Matsu... Especially when, well, y'know... It's not that I don't want to talk though! It's uh... Just... Well... Y-y-you're so..." Suhr didn't finish her sentence, instead opting to shy her look away from the camera and rubbing the back of her head with her free hand, before lowering it back to her lap again. Force alive, she really was nervous. There was so much she wanted to ask Matsu, but she just didn't have the stones to. Not yet, anyway. Just by smiling, Matsu had filled Suhr up with more butterflies than she'd had in her life.

She was going to the Confederacy? Huh that was interesting to say the least but it also let the jedi master enjoy a moment. When Suhr averted her eyes Matsu slightly did the same. She was nervous as well and wanted to ask oh so many questions about her choices. If she wanted to see the galaxy there were better groups but saying so might sour the mood. Saying she was better then most in the templars was and would be mean. So Matsu opted and brush a bang out while looking at her playing with her lekku. "Well if you ever fancy a trip around the galaxy, I have traveled to many places and seen many things. When I was a padawan I used to travel all around. The Wardens of the sky, the zeison shall, the jal shey, disciples of twilight, I have met the fallanassi, riden atop a basilisk war droid with my mandalorian instructors, learned hand to hand with chiss soldiers and studied in the great library." Among many other places, that was merely the short list of locations she had been there was so much more she had learned. Her time with on Mallon in the maw when both their ships had been disabled, drifting and in his bad attempts to turn her taught her alchemy, taught her sorcery to help escape.

He had not anticipated his vaunted talks of power had been heard but she was a jedi, had a jedi's heart and when he returned to the empire in shame. She had heard only that he had disappeared. Not killed or alive but vanished since it was known he had revealed more secrets to the jedi then she had given him. It was just one more skill she knew how to use. Then she realized she was reflecting and gave a small giggle averting her eyes before bringing them back up. "If however you wish to see the galaxy or come to the order again. I am here now and always. I would gladly show you the wondrous sights I have seen, from the beaches of Spira to the icy landscapes of Csilla, the deserts of Benjeel with the sandworms that dominate the planet and the endless wonder that is Katarr. So much beauty in the galaxy one should never stay cooped in a temple. It is why I have my ship so if I get that itch for adventure I can always help."

She might even prefer it, her daughters were antsy and that brought another smile to her face. The time she had taken to speak had let her come to an answer for the nervous Suhr. "Suhr, you are a beautiful girl with nothing to be nervous about here. It is I who should be, so talented and so skillful. With brains and looks, wit and a sense of humor. You are everything I would want to have in a friend and I do hope you can come see me or I can come and see you. There is a lovely cafe on Zeltros if your ever in the area."

Suhr was struggling. All of these places, and people, and sights! She could barely imagine them, let alone guess what actually visiting them all would be like. Every place, every name, every action. Each bit cast a spell around Suhr's imagination to the point that she could barely focus on keeping her jaw from clanging to the floor. Suhr had never been far - Nar Shaddaa, Coruscant and Donovia. That was the total sum of her traveling exploits. Hell, she thought to herself. I've spent most my life on one ship or another.
Yet at the end of all that, the unthinkable happened. Matsu offered Suhr a chance to travel with her. To see everything she had seen - The Galaxy. All of it. Suhr was stunned. She didn't know what to say. For what seemed like an eternity she sat in silence, a look of wonder etched into her face. She had nothing to offer Matsu, yet Matsu was offering Suhr everything she could have dreamed of. What's the catch? The thought threw her back into reality. There was no way this came without strings, but Suhr couldn't bring herself to be so rude as to say that. Not in this lifetime, not in the next, and not in any others.

"Z-Zeltros sounds nice..." Her voice was crumbling. She realised just how out of control she was of this situation, but she couldn't bring herself to do anything about it. Not with everything that Matsu just offered. And then the compliments on top of that! A quiet Twi'leki swear word slipped past her lips, it had a tone of disbelief about it. "I-I'd v-very much like to uh... See you at some point, M-matsu."
Suhr couldn't belive what she was saying it was like she was on auto pilot. The surprise holocall, the beautiful Jedi that appeared, and now all of these compliments and promises of galactic travel? It was too much for Suhr to take in at once - Yet she couldn't bring herself to say so. Her bottom lip curled inwards, towards her mouth and found itself caught on her teeth slightly, and her finger twirled the Lekku around it once again. Suhr smiled. She didn't know how she was going to meet Matsu, only that she had to.

Matsu continued to looked at the girl and that pause for a moment or two brought her eyes onto her. She seemed surprised, was it of the jedi masters travels or the offer to come and join her? She wondered it for a moment before hearing the news and she was back to being nervous again. "And I would like to meet you Suhr, there is much we can talk about and perhaps in person you would be less nervous. Your very pretty but I don't want to intimidate you or make you flustered." Her smile returned though and it was quite easy to talk with her but time to move the conversation. "Now come Suhr, tell me more. Where would you want to go if you could go anywhere? There are so many places one could see."

Suhr smiled a little at the image of the Jedi... there were a whole lot of anywheres in the Galaxy, and Suhr wanted to visit them all. She sensed the Jedi wanted to move the conversation on, and she was more than happy to.
"Any anywhere? Well. How about your favorite, wherever that might be! You can take me on a tour?"
She stopped twirling her Lekku around her finger and brought it up to rest along her neckline. Suhr was calmer now - less nervous. If she wasn't having to talk so much she could at least pretend to be confident.

"My favorite." Matsu thought about it for several moments. Somewhere she could show and have a wonderful time. Some place another might find beautiful. "Well I always loved the moons of Iego, there is no sun in the system, the nebula surrounding it, obscuring it heats the world allowing it to be suspended in time. A day there can be a lifetime of just a few moments. The songs of the creatures of the world are said to be the essence of music and the force while the sight of the angels who fly around the moons. Can be seen in wondrous splendor, their forms appearing how the one looking wishes them to. It is such a wonderful place to look up into the sky and see all the colors dancing in the skies above. Or there is also the crystal caves of Ilum."

Matsu was remembering the sights and sounds of Ilum like a warm comfort and all the things that came with it. "The snow might be a bit for some but.. Walking through the caves and seeing all the splendor, hearing the resonance of the force in the crystals while they hum and show you their history, sitting by the underground streams or finding the hotsprings... Oh so much one can see there." Her smile was wider now at the other things one could do when with someone to keep from the cold but she didn't say it just looked upon Suhr who was now sitting more confident."

"Iego? Ilum? Can't say I've heard of either..." Suhr smiled a little. Planets. She could talk planets. Nothing to be nervous about, so long as Nar Shaddaa or Ryloth wasn't mentioned. "They sound perfect though, Matsu... I'd love to be able to see either of them - or both! The sights sound amazing, and the company sounds even better."
She was relaxed now. And a relaxed Suhr was a confident Suhr. Now that she had stopped panicking, she was able to take in the real picture of the Jedi that appeared before her. Suhr took a vague guess that she was somewhere in her thirties - She'd read it on the profile, but she couldn't quite remember the full details. And the way she carried herself was... Well. Like she had more than enough experience with people. Maybe in that way too... she added to herself. The smile that carried across on the Jedi's face at the mention of Ilum though, put suhr at ease. If it could make a Jedi smile that much, then it was definitely worth visiting. But then again, there was snow to deal with. Whatever that was.
"Uh... Matsu. What's a snow when it's at home, anyway?" Suhr sounded confused. She'd never seen it. Never been in it. Never really heard anyone talk about it. And when she did hear about it, it was only bad. Something you generally wanted to avoid if you could. Such was the way of things when you'd lived in a cage on a ship or a city planet for the vast majority of your life. Suhr began to imagine it as some hairy creature, fifteen foot tall and covered in long shaggy hair. Like some kind of Wookiee-Rancor hybrid. A bit for some... Really? She put the thought of the Snow out of her mind. Probably just some horror story to scare young Twi'leks, she thought.

What was snow? For a moment thought how best to explain it but settled for the one she used to alter the environment. "Snow is just frozen water Suhr, chilled in the sky on winter nights and made to fall to the ground to continue the cycle of water. It can be one of the most beautiful sights and one of the most dangerous elements. It can set the stage for horrible things to happen and dangerous creatures but it is also a thing of wonder. Oh you should see it, it was something I was born it as it swirled around the room. It is what I was taught about the force with." Matsu slowly held her hands out as she used a glass of water and the force to levitate the liquid. Then slowly she started to make the room freeze, a small amount of freezing until the droplets started to harden... Then it went up and fell lightly while the jedi master held her hand out. "It can be a moment of beauty and fun, I do hope you can see it with me if the time ever comes. I would enjoy dancing under the moonlit sky on a fresh patch of snow."

[I may well be the worst person ever! Forgive me, @[member="Matsu Ike"]! Consider this a major I.O.U. for a thread/arc/something that can involve Suhr. Just PM me from the Matsu Ike account whenever you want to cash it in with a bit of info so I know what I'm going into, and I promise I'll put it as priority #1!]

Snow... It sounded somewhat alien. Well it was from other planets, yet... It was one of the many things Suhr had yet to experience in her life, and as dangerous as Matsu made it sound to her, it still had a somewhat appealing nature to it. And then there was whatever the Jedi had done to the room she was in. Was that snow? Could she just make it like that? Suhr had no clue. It certainly wasn't the fifteen foot tall Wookiee-Rancor Hybrid she had imagined so vividly in her mind.
"I uh... I'd very much like to see the snow with you, Matsu." The young Twi'lek was trying her best to remain collected, but the Jedi's promises of snow and wonder-filled sights had more than done it's work. Her body language changed without Suhr realising it. Instead of the calm and collected appearance that Suhr was trying to project, it increasingly became apparent that Suhr was somewhat enamored with the idea of heading out into the Galaxy to visit the snow... And of course, Matsu herself.

Matsu was enjoying the idea, the words and demeanor from Suhr were very welcome. Something as small as showing some tricks... Well not tricks but it was easier, it was just something she could do and would one day have to train an apprentice for. A rare skill few could master and she had started she hoped in training Aika but one never knew what would happen in the future. Still hearing Suhr would love to see it did offer hope for what she could do. There was so much more then just where she was headed so it would be a treat. "Well depending on where you are and when, my ship is always open. I'll send you the channel for it, the Harlequin would welcome your presence, your youthful intrigue. I would welcome the company of course and maybe teach a few of the lessons I had been taught."
