WEAKNESSES
  • Ammunition Capacity / Rate of Fire. This bow fires one arrow at a time. Then the wielder has to draw the next from a quiver, assuming they have another arrow and notch the next arrow before pulling the drawstring and aiming the next shot.
  • Drawstring. Archers never skip arm day at the gym. The physical strength and dexterity required to wield this weapon are a workout for even an experienced archer.
  • Underpowered. Compared to blasters, lightsabers, or even slugthrowers, this weapon is a stone age relic and is going to have limited application outside of traditional game hunting.
DESCRIPTION
The Life Day gift presented to Ylva Heavenshield in 860 ABY by her adopted son, this bow was a replica of the type of recurve bow typical of Valkyri, Aelvar, or Beorni that form Midvinter's hunting and archery culture, albeit as interpreted and crafted by a thirteen year old Pantoran kid from downtown Coruscant. Crafted from Coasian wood, the bowstring was constructed of spider silk. It required a modicum of physical strength and exceptional dexterity on the part of the archer in order to wield effectively, as the forearm strength of the wielder was placed under stress when drawing back a notched arrow.

Owing to her love of archery, the gift was intended to have been well thought out and full of meaning; and not at all indicative of Life Day approaching and the Pantoran panicking that he hadn't yet thought of what to get his parents.
