Zofia Marek

Master and Commander
When something made money, especially large quantities of money, it was hard to shut down everything around it. It was possible to quash illegal activities, especially when the area in question was quite small compared to entire worlds, but the actual supplies? The workers, the materials, and the revenue? That never disappeared. No one sat on a figurative cash bantha without trying to shake a few credits out of the thing.

Ganath had long held interest in Kessel and the potential revenue it held. It was true, Spice was a highly addictive narcotic with a dark history and a steadily rising death toll, but it also was a key ingredient in many pharmaceuticals throughout the galaxy. With a finger in the proverbial medicine pie, Ganath could stand to profit from the productions of such medications and formulas which would, in turn, earn a profit through exportation elsewhere in the galaxy. It was a recipe for increased revenue and one that Ganath was hell bent on grabbing a hold of.

Currently, it was owned by the rather large galactic nation calling itself the Silver Jedi Order, or the Silvers as most regarded them. While negotiations weren't entirely needed for a fully legal company holding all of the necessary paperwork, including the seal of King Karl XXII of Ganath himself, the paperwork was rather... tremendous.

Entrusted with cutting through the sheer amount of red tape and founding a solid supply of the massively valuable was the Ganathan Crown's latest investment project, the Royal Ganathan Trade Company. The Chairman, Zofia Marek, had personally ventured to the Kessel system to head the acquisition. She'd expected to be stopped from the start and had prepared to negotiate her way into a deal. What she found was a stack of paperwork easily the size of her head.

"All of this... for a single, blasted mine," she muttered as she picked up another sheet of flimsy and applied her signature to the appropriate areas on the form. Around her a small number of legal professionals well versed in economic and interplanetary law reviewed documentation section by section before handing them down to the Cathar. It was a slow, grueling process, but necessary if she wanted the RGTC and, by extension, the Ganathan Crown to get the best deal they could.

It didn't mean she would rather be anywhere else, however.
