Faction Midnight Council: Tempo of War Pt. II | Lightsworn & Jedi

HIRATA ENCLAVE

Dozens of Jedi -- rogues, radicals, and survivors -- stood in concentric rings, under vaulted ceiling etched with cracked star maps, plans, and faded sigil, or something very very close. There was low conversation and the ever-present tension of too many warriors in one place, and they were bound by the same grim truth...the galaxy was unraveling.

She hadn't spoken again yet. She hadn't needed to.

But they were looking at her. Some like they'd seen a ghost made flesh, some she once fought beside, some who know her experience and respected it, others who once dismissed her now stared with a mixture of guilt, awe… and apology. There was silent refrain hanging in the air. Nothing said aloud, but spoken nonetheless in glances, nods, shifting stances. And that was okay...She knew she'd have to have time with quite a few faces...Auteme...Kale...Briana...Lossa...so so many faces.

That was all before the imprisonment.

Before the fall of the core.

Before the pits.

Before the screams.

Now… she was back. Not as a prophet. She wondered if even as a Jedi. She knew for sure though...that she was just a ghost that refused to die.

She reached out and her hand sprawled across Kale's shoulder as he settled in front of her, she nodded at him, those were years of words unspoken. But her embrace was maternal in instinct. It in fact brought her a deep sense of inner peace to see multiple students of hers, or children of those she mentored in some way, here, taking up the charge as she Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser & Cotan Sar'andor Cotan Sar'andor had done for what seemed like a lifetime ago.

"I-" she went to speak, then her head shot around at:

"Her!" Jacen said as he pointed at Romi Jade Romi Jade Romi Jade Romi Jade

"She can vouch for who I am."

"Let him in," she nodded, sharing a stray glance with Voidstalker, an acknowledgement, "He's one of the best of us."

A beat.

"I will send word to my nephew Jared Starchaser Jared Starchaser . And I'll get together with the other seers, we'll see what we can divine; in the meantime continue to filter through any information that may give us tips. Inosuke Ashina Inosuke Ashina --" She nodded in his direction, "I defer to you, what's left on the agenda?"

JACEN

"Let him in," she nodded, sharing a stray glance with Voidstalker, an acknowledgement, "He's one of the best of us."

"Used to be," Jacen muttered under his breath.

"Thank you," he called out loud before finding a seat for himself.

That was the line he wouldn't cross. He had fought alongside Coren Starchaser. Trextan, his own son, had fought in the war too. He wouldn't ask Trextan to again. The young man had found his own path with the Wardens and Jacen wouldn't take that away from him.

The young often shouldered the burden of war. Jacen was guilty of throwing him into the fray. It had felt normal after his own youth of soldiering. He wouldn't do it again.
