OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Create a component that can modify fuel mixes for another sub and the open market
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: I own Treatech >: )
  • Primary Source: Hypermatter annihilation chamber
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Treatech
  • Affiliation: Treatech Holdings
  • Market Status: Open-Market
  • Model: MMI-131
  • Modularity: Scaleable to any vehicle/ship comparable with hypermatter
  • Production: Mass-Produced
  • Material:
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Unstable Injector
    • Can introduce tiny amounts of matter into fuel mixtures to produce atypical reactions. The most common type of matter is hypermatter, which momentarily forces a ship into hyperspace along its current vector, allowing for huge bursts of speed across very short distances. Other substances can be introduced to produce different effects.
STRENGTHS
  • Unpredictable
    • The ability to introduce substances into a fuel mix at will and produce calculated results allows for a degree of unpredictability. No two ships react the same way to the same amount and kind of hypermatter, so pilots will always have a custom trick up their sleeves as long as they understand injection outcomes.
WEAKNESSES
  • Redundant Safety Measures
    • The micro-matter injector will not prevent dangerous substances from entering the fuel mixture. If someone mixes incompatible substances and blows up their ship when they combine, Treatech cannot be found liable due to explicit safety manuals that warn against introducing basically anything into fuel mixtures.
  • Hard Work
    • Ships react differently to micro-matter injections. Pilots must take the time to understand the outcomes of the type and amount of matter they are injecting, otherwise they put themselves at risk. Nobody wants to jump into a star when they mean to perform a pseudo-micro jump
DESCRIPTION

Developed to outfit in one of Treatech's projects, the Micro-Matter Injector eventually became an individual sub-system available for sale. Treatech officially advises against introducing anything other than approved starship fuel into engines, but it was Treatech who discovered the ability to introduce hypermatter into basic fuel mixtures to produce what is functionally a microjump. Treatech pilots and researchers refer to these maneuvers as "psuedo-microjumps"
