Michael Barran,"The Wanderer"
Lord-Captain of the Highland Brotherhood

Biography
Born to Erskine and Carla Barran, heir-apparent to the legacy of the Stormchaser, though not in his birth or upbringing; raised alongside his older brother, Thomas would always look kindly on his brother, often shielding him from the ideologies of their parents so little Michael could enjoy being a child for as long as fate would allow, so the would-be Wanderer would eventually grow to see the PMC, the Battalion, the Free-State and the 2nd Brigade through a sympathetic lens in general. Though never putting himself in line to learn the trade of his father, nothing was stopping Michael from carving out his own future as his older brother went off to do his soldiering with the Fighting First, clearly of a similar mind that inspired the Wanderer-in-the-making to follow his own path, and in his own oddly-talented way. With most of Michael's educational years kept strictly secret from the powers that be, Lord Erskine would have agreed to honour his firstborn's wishes for this to be so, but from what's been uncovered of his formal qualifications, it appears the Wanderer had developed a contrasting love for Spec-Ops warfare and military-history alike.

In his spare time, and in the hiatus-years between enrolment and enlisting, young Barran displayed keen aptitude for swordsmanship like both of his parents, but learning from an array of differing sword-disciplines to those perfected by his parents. Little did the parents or the firstborn know, however, that young Michael had hidden his latent power well, and continued the trend as a few military-colleges along the way had detected sizeable midichlorian counts, stifling the word on the matter with simple bribes or threats to remain safely within the social-norms that he'd known since before he could verbalise words properly. Being a Barran meant he would never be able to return to Galidraan, but it didn't stop young Michael from travelling to Nirauan, Coruscant and Dosuun in his hiatus years, learning much and more about swordsmanship, warfare and strategic innovation along the way. And yet, his father's thrillseeking traits caught up with the Wanderer eventually; beginning with work on deep-sea trawlers in the harsher months, it wouldn't be long before Barran wanted to defy death in the way he always wanted to, in war.

Tied to the other exiled Galidraani in rank, file and status eventually, Michael would receive his ancestral commission as Lady Enedina had, only instead of Lord Willan for his daughter's, it was Lord Erskine. Going against the grain that he went with for Thomas, the Stormchaser himself would offer a less-direct role of command for Michael that the second son himself turned down immediately. With his commission, the Wanderer would search all around the shifting frontier borders of the longest-standing allied factions in search of methods, and subordinates not seen or heard of in Galidraani warfare before. The man even went off in search of his Uncle Ollis, wishing to spar with the strongest Woad-born sword-arm in existence, and also to learn how Lord Ollis went about differing from the family trade of mechanised warfare, even going off to fish Krieg's frozen polar seas with his uncle until the news of his older brother's passing reached him near the end of the holidaying expedition.

Since the funeral, none have seen him anywhere near his immediate family, but messages still occasionally filter through to Lady Carla and Lord Ollis from time to time, but all communications between Erskine and Michael have ceased for now. Whether the young Lord will represent for the Free-State or not is still in jeopardy, though his New-Imperial leanings are still no secret, especially when he hits apocalyptic levels of inebriation.
