- It's not about the length: While its original length of Mia Kar is that of just an average cane through the use of the exotic echani compression technology it is able to go between quite the variety of lengths to as small as a baton to as large as a staff with a flock of Rene’s wrist.
- Its about how you use it: Within the core of the cane attuned to Rene are a Seoularian and Key crystal, ones known for reacting to the mental energies of the wielder. This could be used in a variety of ways but the most obvious and common use for Rene is using them to release shockwaves from the cane.
- Harder than Durasteel: In truth, the use of Ultrachrome in the creation of Mia Kar makes the cane far stronger than one of durasteel would be allowing it to come into contact and withstand large amounts of energy or even contact with a lightsaber for prolonged periods of time.
Appearances do Matter: With the use of Reflec the cane will often not even appear on sensors or will seem like nothing but a regular walking stick, along with the nice black sheen that it adds to Mia Kar.
- Knock Knock: The use of the Seoularian and Key crystals within the core of the cane are capable of being utilized to create shockwaves or even release bursts of energy capable of knocking over and even sending wookies careening through the air. Alongside this benefit are the abilities of the crystals to amplify other types of energies across numerous spectrums if channeled through them. (Mental energy, electrical, ect…)
- Gonna need more than a blaster: Gonna need more than just a blaster: Crafted from Ultrachrome the structural integrity of Mia Kar is something to be marveled. The natural abilities of ultrachrome allowing it to deflect blasterbolts, and even clash with lightsabers for extended periods of time.
Good Vibrations:The Ultrasonic Vibration generators built within the staff are a nasty little surprise making the edges capable of cutting and rending flesh, bone, durasteel plating and even denser/stronger materials.
- Ouch that hurt: While capable of withstanding prolonged contact with a saber eventually the cane will begin to take damage as the heat will begin to be transferred all across its surface possibly leading to it burning Rene’s hand after some time or even melting.
- Lose some weight: Through the use of Echani molecular compression plus the extra parts of Mia Kar held within the cane weighs far more than one its size should making it more tiring when used and taking longer to adjust to.
- Begone Bantha: Still requiring electricity to operate the vibration generators an EMP or ionite could completely render these functions of the cane useless.
Mia Kar, or to those who don’t speak Old Corellian “My Dear”. Mia Kar was something that has always been an object of interest or existed in some form of shape all throughout Rene’s life. When he was a kid it was a small baton that he’d use as an enforcer within his family. As he aged it switched to something more elegant, to show the man’s pride and prestige all culminating in the ultimate and Rene’s favorite tool.
Having once been completely ignorant to the use of Seoularian and Key Crystals, it was through his associate [member="Prowler"] that Rene had even come to know of their existence. Having gone out of his way and spend thousands upon thousands of credits to acquire a few for himself Rene went about installing them into the staff along with attuning to them through the force ensuring that they would only react to his influence over them. These crystals in combination were far more deadly than useful separately one alone capable of being harnessed to create shockwaves to knock someone off their feet. When in concert they can be used to release destructive shockwaves or channeled and released through the end of the cane/staff by amplifying the vibration generators outputs in effect turning it into a vibration blast to sent people careening through the air. The Key and Seoularian crystals respond to the mental energies of Rene and as such it requires him to utilize them but are also really good power sources known to amplify other forms of energy from across many spectrums including electrical, mental, and many more.
Another addition was the echani molecular compression, a useful technique that they often used on their own combat staffs and one that Rene found very interesting as one couldn’t simply expect a cane to be all they need in combat. As such the materials necessary were gathered and the weapon has three settings. One setting turns Mia Kar to the size of a small baton that can be easily concealed, another the average length and serves as a cane which is its most frequent setting, and finally an extended form to serve as a staff.
To aid in passing off the appearance of just any other cane the ultrachrome exterior is coated with reflec to ensure that it doesn’t appear on sensors, often baffles them and best of all give it a grand sheen. One of the most exciting innovations placed within it were the ultrasonic vibration generators causing the weapon in staff form to act much like a pike from millenia ago capable of shredding and rending through bone, flesh and even durasteel plating with little issue and even able to penetrate heavier armors. Even when unable to penetrate them the vibrations from the generators can still travel through or across the materials it strikes. When in cane form the vibration generators only operate on the bottom of it, though when extended into staff form both ends will pulse with its energy. In its shortest setting as a baton, Mia Kar’s vibration generators are completely inactive.
The downsides of such a tool are that its become a crutch for Rene, the Corellian outright relying on it at times, even fearful of being separated from it. Along with that while the ultrachrome material used for it allows Rene to deflect blasterbolts and even clash with lightsabers after extended periods of time the heat will begin to spread across its surface possibly burning Rene’s hand or even beginning to melt.
