Description:
The MI009 Multi-Purpose Assault Weapon is designed as an easy to use weapon, requiring minimal training for its proper use. Its limited ammunition capacity has required and caused its operators to carefully chose their targets and fire at the last possible moment for the most effect. This is primarily due to the basic Iron Sights, lacking the more sophisticated military targeting systems on similar weapons. While this can cause problems in its use and more danger to the operators, it also drives down the production costs and allows for more units to be produced.
Its strengths and weaknesses lie in the simple fact that it is a MAW. While capable of taking on Vehicles, Buildings, Fortifications, etc etc, it also requires more rockets than a more dedicated weapon or system when used against those mentioned above. The MI009-MAW is also easily and rapidly reloaded, with each rocket canister holding three rockets. The placement of these rockets however is in front of the firing trigger, and when hit, has the potential to cause the rockets to activate in the canister.
While advanced in comparison to other similar devices, the MI009-MAW is rather primitive at the same time. It's rockets, rather than having a predetermined point of distance or time to arm, detonate upon impact with a target. Likewise, in terms of penetration of a target, it takes multiple successive rockets to strike at a same point in order to penetrate armor plating, causing its operators to target less armored areas on vehicles.
