Description:
The MI005 Arc Rifle, is an electrical based weapon developed and designed as a less lethal means to subdue organic individuals. The weapon is thus equipped with a smart computer that is capable of storing the physiological data of up to five individual species that immediately regulates the electrical discharge of the weapon to prevent killing of the individual. This means though that the weapon's computer must be connected to a medical database and download the physiological profiles of a species and thus be properly calibrated before being used in the field. Additionally it has a blank fire setting which is the default setting that can disable a droid or other such electrical device.
While the weapon is designed as a less lethal means, it can still be abused. If not properly calibrated, or tampered with, the weapon in the wrong hands can be used as a lethal device. This is possible by increasing the electrical discharge on the default setting meant to disable or destroy droids. Due to this possibility, it is highly advised that an operator be trained properly in its use.
Due to the weapon also using a life-form scanner, it is possible that the weapon can unintentionally either fry the scanner itself, or the scanner can be fried through the effects of an EMP blast if the weapon is within the range of such a weapon when detonated. This would immediately cause the MI005 Arc Rifle to return to its default setting.
