Strengths:

Description: The next variant of the ShaShore line is the heavy hitting MFG39 Onager-class Bombardment Frigate. Like the other ShaShore variants, the vessel is designed more for defensive roles and to stand off against more powerful vessels and survive utilizing its powerful shielding for protection while using it's limited armaments to wear down enemy formations. Built around the shielding system and its redundant systems the class is armored in a thin plating of High Grade Durasteel Hull Armor. Multiple socketguards are installed in the networks and transmission lines of the vessel to help prevent hacking and slicing attacks. Redundant Cap Drains are also installed to help protect the systems from ion attack.

Designed for bombardment missions, the Onager-class is equipped with two hundred DER (dedicated energy receptor) sensors. With these the vessel can accurately target vessels by detecting and analyzing their electromagnetic emissions. Running thousands of calculations per second the targeting systems of the vessel can accurately target vessels as small as light cruisers at very long range and corvettes at standard ranges and provide the vessels with the proper alignment to achieve the best angle of fire for the bombardment pod and its energy torpedo projectors. Once the data is received the vessel is moved into position and the bombardment pod fires its forty projectors in a massive volley of plasma energy.

The Onager-classes primary role is to bring massive amounts of fire on a target at long range. It does this with the prow a fixed ordinance pod. This large pod is positioned on the ventral forward fin and houses forty Energy Torpedo Launchers and a dedicated Borealis Reactor Core. While this systems brings a formidable amount of firepower to bear on a target the near light speed magnetically accelerated plasma projectiles are guideless and fire in a straight line. These projectiles are fired at very high velocities and are near instantaneously on target. The tactical profile of the weapon is limited to area denial by saturating of an area with effect fire, or bombardment of large targets such as planets, stations, and large warships of cruiser and destroyer class and above, at long range ranges. At standard weapons ranges the system can engage smaller capital warships such as frigates and corvettes.

Other capital weapon systems utilized by the class are twelve Turreted Light Turbolaser Cannonsto defend itself from capital vessels which close on the vessel and its weaker flanks. Supporting both the main bombardment pod and the light turbolaser turrets are Turreted General Purpose Warhead Launchers mounted on turrets covering the entire three hundred and sixty degrees in limited defensive fire. Most commonly these launchers will fire flechette missiles or carbonite warheads for anti-fighter support, but can fire concussion missiles, proton torpedoes, and plasma torpedos when needed for anti-warship support.

Defensively the class is lightly armed for anti-projectile and anti-fighter roles. Two Turreted Countermeasure Defensive Batteries work to deter incoming fire from attack craft firing canisters of flak and chaff as well as other defensive payloads. One Turreted Laser Defense Battery works to protect the vessel against attack craft with its high rate of fire.

[member="Raziel"] each covers a 300 meter bubble one fore and one aft. there may be a slight overlap in the center but not to count as them as being able to assist each other. The intent is to make having multiple projectors for larger vessels that count towards the gun count slightly. SInce they are so powerful I wanted them to have to take away from gun count. SO for larger ships using these like destroyers and such the cost could stack up. A 1700 meter ship could possibly require 20 of these to cover the entire ship which would take 40 turbolasers off
