MRSW115Blg.jpg

Image Source: http://www.entertainmentearth.com/images/AUTOIMAGES/MRSW115Blg.jpg (i used google image)
intent: i've made it for personal use but if another player wants to mass manufacture them do so ^_^
Development Thread: none
Manufacturer: Roadblock
Model: thermal detonator
Affiliation: N/A
Modularity: N/A
Production: semi-unique
material: detonite wrapped in a chrome shell
Classification: small,thrown explosive
Size: handheld
length: 5.08cm
height: 5.08cm
Weight: 198 grams
Ammunition Type: explosive: detonite
Ammunition Capacity: 100 grams of detonite

Effective Range: effective at 0-20 meters
Rate of Fire: half action
Special Features:

hard to detect: Because of their small size and weight detection of these weapons could be difficult unless you keep them bunched together
small: you can fit 3 comfortably in your hand (at least the way i envisioned them you could)

Description: small chrome balls with red activation buttons that explode on contact after being thrown (you have 3 seconds to throw them or they confuse your hand as contact and go off)

strengths and weaknesses
+small can carry more of them and throw more in one hand
+great against lightsabers since they can't block every little fragment
+shred through no armor
+seriously cut up light armor
+penetrates medium armor if the explosion is close enough (right next to or on contact but onl a few fragments get through not the whole grenade)

-does nothing to heavy armor (sorta like throwing eggs at brick wall hoping it'll fall over)
-lightweight so they are harder to throw further than their larger counterparts

(this is my first invention post so if i missed anything important let me know ^_^)

Modularity: none that i can think of you might be able to paint it but that's my degree of more components
Please just put "None" or "N/A" (No need for quotes)

Production: currently unique but as ive said before mass manufactured can be fine if a player has a factory
As you are producing this and only want enough for your character please put "Semi-Unique", this would mean you have enough to supply your character, or "Limited" so that your character produces enough for your character to constantly have a supply of these specifically for themselves.

length: 2 inches height: 2 inches
Please change these to metric. 5.08 cm (centimeters) would be the correct conversion. You don't necessarily need to include a height, as there isn't such a field in the ranged weapon template, but you can keep it there if you'd like.

Effective Range: as far as you can throw it (i assume you could put them in a launcher my char hasn't but it's not in the realm of impossible)
I'd like the effective range (diameter/field of effect) for the explosion itself. This can be in square meters if that works for you. Feel free to give me a unit of measure and I'll convert it for you if you aren't sure on the metric units.

Overall this is good for your first submission, and doesn't have any huge issues with the submission itself, but you've left out a few portions of the template which are required to be left in and filled out. I'll spoiler them below, just copy-and-paste the ones which are missing (I'll highlight them in yellow) in the appropriate places to match the template.
Image Source: (Please link to where you found the image, or to the original artist if possible. TinEye or Google Image Search can help.)
Intent: (Example: 'A personal weapon for Darth Scabious' or 'an advanced armored personnel carrier for the Republic')
Development Thread: (The main way people work for their toys, though most submissions don't require a development thread. Restricted items require specific development threads. Substantial development threads can help judges approve more powerful submissions. If in doubt, put 'If necessary,' and a judge may or may not ask you for one. Threads cited here must be at least 10 quality posts.)
Manufacturer: (Kuat Drive Yards, BlasTech Industries, [Character Name], etc.)
Model: (Example: E-11 Blaster Rifle. For submissions where a model wouldn't be appropriate, such as a custom walking stick, put 'N/A' for 'Not Applicable'.)
Affiliation: (Example: The E-11 Blaster Rifle was produced for the Galactic Empire and used almost exclusively by Imperial Stormtroopers. Do not put the company unless the product is only for your company's use. Common choices include 'Open market' or the name of a specific faction.)
Modularity: (Can components of this submission be swapped out for other components? Is it especially easy to modify? For most submissions, put 'No'.)
Production: Production: (The scale is Unique (Only One Character), Semi-Unique (Only A Handful of Characters), Limited (Only A Select Group Of NPCs/PCs), Minor (Any Character, Only Select Groups Of NPCs), Mass-Produced. (Anyone.))
Material: (What is it made out of? Certain materials are more resistant, or vulnerable, to certain weapons. Example: 'Durasteel, blaster components.')
Classification: (Blaster, Slugthrower, Crossbow, etc)
Size: (Handheld, Stationary, Ship-Mounted)
Length: (Via Metric System)
Weight: (Via Metric System)
Ammunition Type: (Power cell, gas canister, bullets, etc. Example: Blasters require both a power cell and a gas canister.)
Ammunition Capacity: (More powerful projectile weapons tend to have a lower capacity. Example: A heavy blaster pistol with a power pack capacity of 50 shots and a gas canister capacity of 350 shots. If in doubt, find a real-world equivalent or search Wookieepedia.)

Effective Range: (Personal, Battlefield, Starfighter, Capital Ship. Feel no need to use numbers. 'Equivalent to a laser cannon' or 'equivalent to a standard blaster rifle' is acceptable. The more detail, the better. Also, remember this is effective range. A mass driver in space may have an infinite range, but it can only effectively hit targets at normal ship combat ranges.)
Rate of Fire: (Single action, pump action, semi-automatic, fully automatic, etc.)
Special Features: (Even if you've discussed your features at length in the Description line of the Base Template, this is a good place to list them.)
Description: (Include some strengths and weaknesses here. Describe some of the history behind the submission. Give us some idea of how it might perform its function, what it excels against and what some limitations of it are. This is where you talk about your idea, flesh it out over at least a good-sized paragraph, and address some of the ways it might be used or abused. For especially powerful or ambitious submissions, a very thorough description is recommended.)
Primary Source: (Please link the source of another writer's submission that you are modifying for your use; only necessary for "Chaos Canon" submissions)
