SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Heads Up Display- a heads up display for convenience, comes with trackers for ammunition, grenades, hostile and friendly tags, and augmented tracking and aiming protocols.
  • Comm-Pack- Comm unit built into the helmet of the armor allows an easy long-range communication with other soldiers
  • Build In Life Support- The armor is air-sealed to prevent liquids leaking inside and to allow the wearer to survive in the vacuum of space for extended periods of time.
  • Abregado Combat Shield- Much like other contemporary designs from the workshop of Metal Lords and the Guild of Hammers, these suits come equipped with Abregado Combat Shields, deflectors which besides granting additional protection against plasma-based weaponry, also protect the user from effects of electromagnetic and ionic weaponry to a certain degree.
Strengths:
  • Blaster Resistant- due to the protective layers of duraplast and armorweave these suits of armor excel at absorbing and dissipating plasma-based shots, granting the wearer a significant resistance against such weapons. This extends to an average protection against attacks from such high intensity energy weapons as lightsabers
  • Vacuum Proof- due to being airsealed and containing its own life support, these suit of armor can be easily worn within the void of space for prolonged periods of time, keeping their user alive
  • Electrical/Ionic/EMP Resistant- the addition of Abregado Combat Shields grants a significant protection from ionic and electrical attacks, as well as ability to absorb blast from an EMP grenade.
Weaknesses:
  • Vulnerable to Armor Piercing Slugthrowers- although the armor grants average protection against kinetic weaponry, armor-piercing slugthrowers like shatterguns can pierce and shatter the duraplast armor plates of these suits easier than plasma bolts of blasters, as well as piercing or ignoring the layers of armorweave underneath.
  • Vulnerable to blades in joints of armor- produced in a simple layout based on the ancient Mandalorian armor suits, Metal Lords Standardized Armor is vulnerable to blade weaponry at major joints where the armor is weakest to be most flexible, this includes armpits, knees, and wrists, although the neck was kept pretty well protected due to the presence of a protective gorget.
  • Vulnerable to Sonic/Concussion- the hard plates of the duraplast and the thin layer of armorweave underneath do not serve well at absorbing concussive shocks or waves of sonic weaponry, allowing such attacks to easily bypass through this armor layer.
DESCRIPTION

Intro: Every power is built upon the back of military, even Commenor, although they try to claim otherwise, requires some sort of security force to keep peace within their borders. Same applies to the Metal Lords and their dominions within Droid Space, to maintain a strong army they require to keep their army up to date, and as such from time to time they need to reevaluate and modify the designs of equipment they have used before.

History: One of the properties of their government which Metal Lords praise is their vast diversity and ability to determine how exactly each Lord's forces will look while marching into battle and what kind of equipment they will use. While this makes their armies rather colorful, it also makes their military a bit of a mess. For one thing no single Lord decided to invest into developing proper additional armor for their soldiers, especially the organic ones, as each would rather to focus on designing new and continuously improving droid designs. HK, however, pushed for creation of standardized common army and navy to be shared by all Metal Lords in similar fashion as other powers utilize. The first step towards that effort was designing and producing large numbers of cheaply made standardized combat suits which these forces could use. Perhaps what also influenced the droid's decision to start with that was the fact that his own forces still relied on old suits stockpiled from the days of Omega Protectorate. Either way, these new standardized suits were based on the ancient Mandalorian and Republic soldier designs, using similar layout and relying on thicker duraplast armor plates sitting upon an armorweave under-armor jump suit, however the helmets were designed without visible visors and made more bulky to resemble the old Protectorate-era helmets utilized by the Iron Legionnaires of Abregado-Rae.

Special Features: These suits come with the standard special features one could expect from contemporary combat suits. For one thing they are built with their own life support systems, combined with the fact that they are air-sealed it allows the user to fight in the void of space for prolonged periods of time, a feature especially included with the largely organic marine corps of the Metal Lords. Another special feature is the comm-pack and heads up display within the helmet, allowing the soldiers to easily communicate between themselves and track their targets using advanced built-in arrays of sensors and trackers. Finally these suits are equipped with Abregado Combat Shield, a feature which grants them additional protection against energy-based weapons and protection from ionic, electrical, and even electromagnetic attacks, a feature which is especially useful for any droids who would decide to put on these suits.

Strengths: The greatest strengths of these suits come from the ability to survive in the vacuum of space, due to being air-sealed, the augmented protection from plasma based weapons, which includes average protection from high intensity weapons like lightsabers, and the great protection from ionic and electromagnetic weapons from the Abregado Combat Shields.

Weaknesses: The weaknesses of these suits on the other hand come from the lacking protection against armor piercing slugthrower weapons, like shatterguns, which are able to easily pierce or shatter the armored duraplast plates apart, gaining little boon from the armorweave beneath them as well. Just the same neither duraplast nor armorweave protects well against concussive and sonic weaponry which can bypass right through them, and foes equipped with bladed weaponry would be able to cut through the weakened joints of the armor, for example wrists, armpits, or knees.

Conclusion: In conclusion, this is a standardized medium suit of armor designed to be especially effective against the vastly common blater-based weaponry. Its strength comes from adaptability and remaining useful in variety of scenarios, especially if a user takes time to modify it with other improvements on their own time. Even without its modularity this suit of armor is still fairly decent in most contemporary combat scenarios.

The shield is minor production while this submission is mass, I suggest you find a replacement for it.

Lowered the production of this submission to Minor to fall in line with the production of the components used in it, increased protection specific to Slugthrowers by one tick to Average in response to lower production as permitted by the Standardized Factory Rules
