Strengths And Weaknesses
  • Strengths:
Enhanced Eyesight; A byproduct of her Father's genes, her eyesight is far superior to the every day humans. However, because her lineage is mixed it is not quite as intense as a full blooded Umbaran's
  • Force Strong; Both of Meri's parents were Force Sensitive, and though she was raised by neither she was trained from a very young age to utilize the gifts she possesses
  • Respectful; There has never been a time in Meri's life when she didn't have a clear and firm authority figure, and as such she knows better than to show disrespect, swift to follow instructions, and careful with her words

[*]Weaknesses:
  • Epileptic; Due to the Umbaran heritage she possesses, Meri suffers when exposed to sudden flashes of light. While this will not always end so severely, it can induce epileptic seizures
  • Sensitive Eyesight; Colluctari Nebula has no sun to speak of, and as such Meri's eyes are not at all adjusted to the intensity of solar rays. While she has been exposed to fluorescent lighting, sunlight could prove damaging without enough time to slowly adjust
  • Physically Lacking; Meri is still little more than a child, and as such is weaker than most and easily overpowered. Even when her Force abilities are taken into consideration, she is not much use on a battlefield, and has a long ways to go in her training
  • Brainwashed; Meri has never known a life outside of her training. She is not aware that she has family out there in the greater Galaxy, she does not realize that what she has been taught is not the be all and end all of knowledge, nor that there are other options for her future out there, which makes her fairly naive and unprepared for the real world

Pre-Roleplay History
Darkness.

The only state of existence she has ever truly known. An ever expanding abyss that stretches out into the stars with the promise of more... Yet the reality is much starker. Much less forgiving.

Meri does not remember a time before the eternal night. Whenever her gaze was cast outward to the barren planes of ice which lay beyond the training facility she called home, only darkness glanced back. If she took a torch out into the frigid and forbidden land, she would see only her own reflection in the ground, and the occasional stirring deep beneath the surface.

The third time she was reprimanded for leaving the facility, however, was her last.

Indoors was safe. Indoors had artificial lighting which held back the dark, it had heaters which staved off the cold, and people to talk to. Sometimes.

They didn't like to talk very much.

Her life was one of monotony. Each day the same things happened, from morning til night - at least, the clocks told them it was morning and night, whether that was the truth of the matter she did not know. It didn't pay to question such things.

Training and schooling took up most of her waking hours, if it wasn't group study it was private study, if she wasn't sparring in class then she was exercising in one of the isolation chambers. Endless drone-like days, broken up by food and sleep... Marked only by the progress they made.

Those who failed were cast aside. There were tales among them that spoke of the beasts which lay beneath the ice; those who failed were sent below, to satisfy the creatures and keep them from rising. Meri didn't put much merit in such claims, yet she strove to avoid such a fate all the same.

Hard work paid off in these parts.

So work she did.

I don't know, but it's cold and dark.

([member='Darth Metus'] is gonna come drag me out of there, perhaps once she's free from the Nebula we can arrange something?)
