Private Memory Without Language | Iren Tel Alam

"Someone could take that any number of ways," said Venyxa with a smirk. The amethyst-skinned Keshiri took it as an invitation to attack him with some of her hand-to-hand combat. She didn't have her lightsaber on her, anyway. She dropped into a somewhat relaxed stance, flexing her hands and cracking her knuckles before she shook her shoulders out and, while she looked like she was preparing, she struck with her leg, aiming a vicious kick at the side of Iren's knee, not hard enough to dislocate it -- this time -- but enough that he would feel it.

Nyx straightened, raising her hands in a defensive position, as if anticipating a counterattack.

"I don't usually do hand-to-hand," she said conversationally. "Normally if I'm within range of touching someone, they're dead before they know I'm even there. Or, if I'm feeling charitable, incapacitated."

"Someone should." Iren responded slyly and paid close-attention to her next move.

His eyes were on her hands and because of it... didn't notice the leg striking out. It connected roughly with his knee and send him twirling in place. It almost seemed like Venyxa had taken him out. The way his body seemed to gyrate in the air, uncontrolled, wild, unfocused. And then something shifted in his figure mid-air.

The speed of it was something to behold as his leg suddenly whipped out to dash into her head from the side.

If it connected?

The force behind it was negligible. A love tap instead of the utter crushing force it could have been. Almost as if Iren had been making a point rather than trying to hurt her in truth.

"Hand-to-hand, foot-to-head, every portion of your body is a weapon."

Iren drawled as he landed on the floor again, crouched down with the flat of his palm pressed against the floor as he looked up to her.

"Again. Strike."

Venyxa realized too late what was happening, though she tried to jerk out of the way -- unsuccessfully. Whether it was from moving too quickly or from the light collission against the side of her head, the Keshiri went dizzy for a moment, somewhere close to stunned although it didn't really hurt. After stumbling back a step and a half, a broad smile split her amethyst face.

"Nice trick," she said as she composed herself once more, settling into a quasi-defensive stance. She wondered how much of the Force was required to twist around like that in mid-air. Perhaps someday she would learn it and find out.

The Keshiri was moving before Cambyses Cambyses spoke his command. As he crouched on the ground, it looked like she was going to dive-tackle him, but instead at the last possible moment she leapt, using her momentum to bound him and, hooking her arm around his throat, tried to pull him to the mat with her in a wiry but surprisingly strong purple headlock.
