Meet The Mechanic (Jen)

Mit stepped off the landing pad, instantly he hated the place. It was absolutely bursting with neon lights and bars. "Don't people have anything to do besides get drunk?" He muttered. So, where is this Jen? He wandered around asking about her for a while, he stuck out of the crowd so much, you could see him for miles. He was the only one that looked half decent. "OH, im sorry..." He muttered, running into a girl. "Do you know a certain Jen Phoenix?

The bustling metropolis world of Antecedant. It wasn't really a low class world everywhere, had become a bit more so since the Red Ravens arrived and had in a way taken the entire world into its grasp, but still. On the main levels it was quite nice, luxurious in its own ways, from the behemoth skyscrapers that lined the central to the lights that lit up the world even during the long nights. However it seemed that Mit had landed on one of the lower levels, at least the pop up message on Jennifer's datapad had told her so.

1PTYKIU.jpg
Jennifer had been sitting by a local cantina when the message appeared on her datapad, so with the knowledge of his arrival and the general arrival destination she decided to get going, taking a cab ride to somewhere near it. She was dressed what one could assume as nicely tonight, her usual tight mechanical working trousers with endless amounts of bags and pockets on it, some sort of prestine in condition sneakers, a white tanktop with a grey hoodie and what seemed as an expensive leather jacket ontop. She liked this outfit a lot. The streets were busy as usual and the hum from speeders, swoopers and all kinds of vehicles could be heard mixed with everlasting sound of upbeat music from every nightclubs she passed. People were either drowning their sorrows or having a good time it seemed. She was absentminded in some way however, this atmosphere was normal to her, she had lived here for quite some time, so walking down the busy street she didn't take too much note to her surroundings and especially not that the person infront of her didn't step to the side as people now normally did when they approached each other. She even had to look up and stop as this person started to talk, angry mutters heard from those behind and infront of them as they had to move past them instead of continuing straight forward. A break in routine! Oh no, everyone cried sarcastically.

"Oh I'm sorry." The man infront of her said.

She seemed confused for a second as she glanced up towards the man, her eyes hidden from behind two round and dark lensed sunglasses who could be seen resting fashionably on the bridge of her nose. What did this guy want?

"Do you know a certain Jen Phoenix?" She almost gasped as he spoke, awaiting her answer afterwards. The odds were.. Well almost non existant, yet it had happened. Or well, she couldn't be sure that this was Mit, but she had no idea who else would be searching for her during this hour. A slight smile crept up on her features, her eyes still hidden behind the sunglasses as she glanced over him.

"I do, yea. What do you want from her?" She answered, her melodious accent heard as she talked. A tactful response she supposed. And if he wasn't too stressed he should be able to put two and two together even now. After all she had even said she would be wearing sunglasses.

Mit was stressed from the ride, so he could never have figured out that this was Jen, the neon explosions didn't help either. "I... Im going on what you could call a date with her, if you want to call it that..." He said, his voice awkward, he felt way to formal for these people, dressed in a buttoned down black trench coat, with a grand hat adorned with a feather to top it all of, as he was. With a little bow he said, "Could you take me to her? She said she would be here, but I may have arrived a bit late."

(ooc: I'll change my speaking color to pink since you're using orange as well :))

So it was Mit after all, since he mentioned the, going on a 'date' and all. Funny, Jennifer had tried to figure out what he may have looked like when they had chatted and from the way he wrote she did figure he was one of those types who try to dress all fancily. Well he did pull it off in his own way she supposed, but that hat.. "That hat.." She begun, raising a finger as a slight smile appeared on her features simply looking towards the hat for a second or two, apparently deciding not to continue her sentence anyway. From behind her round sunglasses it may have looked like she looked him over.

Jennifer simply stood there for what could appear as an awkward pause as he was done talking. Silently as thinking now is she was wondering, only for a second or two if he was fully human, it was funny: Their hair color almost matched, same counting for eye color. A funny coincidence. Her grin grew a bit wider as she got an idea, simply nodding and turning on her feet, starting to walk, waving him to follow as she loudly talked over the noise from the people and general clamor around them.

"A date? Jen? I doubt it, Chap. But yea, I can. Follow me."

And with that she started to walk, only looking back once, maybe twice to see if he was following. She didn't walk particularly fast so she was sure he could keep up. It seemed as if they walked barely 100 meters before she started to walk to the side of the road towards what appeared as a Cantina with large windows and lots of tables and chairs outside. All occupied except a pair of chairs by a lone round metal table. As they approached this little establishment, music from inside seemed to come into hearable range, the booming noise felt as a group of laughing guests opened the door from the inside to continue their journey into the night.

Jennifer's voice was raised sightly as she turned towards Mit, a sparkle in her eye behind her sunglasses and her smirk wide as ever. And with determination she went to slide into one of the chairs by the lone table, looking towards Mit as she went to raise the sunglasses up from the bridge of her nose, showing her amber eyes. "For the record, my jokes are terrible and.. No I'm not schizophrenic."

"What about my hat?" Mit asked. 'These people are so flashy....' he thought, looking at The girl he felt like she was familiar...her way of speech that is, but why? 'No matter.' He began to follow her, He kept pace easily with the girl, even with his cane and injured leg. "So, You know Jen?" He said absentmindedly, they were nearing the cantina.

As the two walked in the door Mit muttered something about bars, "Wait, you're..." He said as she said something about jokes, the cantina was incredibly loud at that moment, "Oh, Im sorry! I should have realized..." He said quickly, bowing grandly and blushing slightly. He felt like a fool.

Jennifer's grin widened a bit as he became flustered. She adjusted herself a bit in her chair and pointed briefly towards the other one by the table. "It's alright. You wouldn't know. Sorry about it, I should have been upfront.. Maybe." She went to fold her sunglasses and put them into her leather jacket. The music around them wasn't too loud here outside, or well... At least not to her, she was used to booming music every hour of the day anyway. "Good to meet you. My full name is Jennifer. But just call me Jen, that's easier."

Mit slid into the chair. This music is so loud... "No no, its fine. If anything its my fault. You did say what you would be wearing." He said, his face was still a bit red. "Nice to meet you. You know my name I suppose. Mit, Mit Tuxaire." He set his hat on the table and folded his hands together. As one of the waiters walked by Mit stopped him. "Get Jen here whatever she wants. I'll have some tea." He sat back in his chair as the waiter walked over to Jen to take her order.

[member="Jen"]

"Mit Tuxa.. Aire? Heh.. Well alright Mit. But I think I'll call you.." She looked him over as he too sat down by the table, her amber eyes looking him over one of her hands going up to her chin, rubbing it in one of those iconic manners one who ponders now does. Or very stereotypically does at least. "No I don't got a good nickname yet. Mit it is. For now at least." She muttered out after a long pause, smirking slightly, blinking a few times as she heard the waiter by her side, turning her gaze towards him for a second or two to order "And an.. Ermm.. Iced tea? For me? To keep the sort of theme we got going on here. And hey, thanks." She added as she looked back over towards Mit. Now with hat off and everything.

Yes his silver hair was pretty to some extend, looked a bit like her own, hers was.. White though. People wouldn't be able to tell a different later on the night though, especially not when the night would only grow darker and filled with more strange vibrant colors. She offered yet another smile, waiting for her ice tea to come.

"So.. Good to finally meet you."

"Its a pleasure. I must say you had me fooled back there. Please tell me that the noise stops at night?" He muttered. As the waiter came back around he set a large pot of tea next to Jen. "Please, allow me." Mit said, and poured there drinks. "How do you stand all these lights? And the noise!" He said, his tone was that of a person who had to wait in line just longer than they had expected to.

Jen's hair was, quite like Mit's. He realized, looking at her as he handed a glass of tea to her. "You didn't say anything about liking my hair so much that you would copy it." He joked, "Once the sun sets, we may be mistaken for siblings." He added. "I hope you don't mind my saying." sliding back into his seat Mit sipped at his glass.
"This place is really not what I imagined."
[member="Jen"]

As their drinks were poured Jennifer gladly accepted her own glass before leaning back into her chair once again, sipping her ice tea. Lovely. All those, warm things were so overrated anyway! But to everyone their own. She chuckled, looking about as Mit mentioned the lights, simply shrugging. "I guess it's the sort of 'fashion' here. Love it actually. Wonderful colors. It's probably also what's cheapest, I guess." She nodded a bit at her own words, lifting her feet up on her chair as she leant back he started to talk once more.

"Awwhh, wouldn't that be hilarious though? I could just imagine it. But yea.. We do sort of look alike.. In some ways at least."

She took a sip from her glass as well, her eyes peeking towards him and the hat on the table. This tea was good. She should order that more often.

"I hope that you will come to like it if don't already though. So! What do you want to do?" She paused, no she still hadn't figured out a nickname for him "Mit?"

Mit sat back and listened while Jen talked, "Where I hang around, you don't care about fashion, you care about how warm it is." He said, a grin on his face, "Tea's much better than I thought, hope you like it."

"I might grow to it, right now though, I must say It is a bit too bright for me." He said, after a moment of silence he looked back up. "What?" He asked sitting up, querious.

[member="Jen"]

Jennifer shuffled slightly in her chair, raising a brow. Oh. Perhaps he didn't hear her before, there was an awful lot of noise anyway, Jennifer could kind of see that. And with Mit taking all the sights in the noise probably wasn't helping keeping him sharper than, something sharp. Yea.

"Oh.. Erm.. I mean, what do you want to see here, do? Fight Club? Amusement parks? Resturant? Casino? Teatre? Whatever floads your boat I'm up for."

"Oh, sorry." Mit said, he waved towards the lights. "All this is distracting for someone who... Well, doesn't live here." He said awkwardly. "Im fine with anything, You pick something. I dont even know what half these places are!" He said, taking a sip of his tea.

"You... Er... How long have you lived here?" He added after a moment.

[member="Jen"]

"Oh, sorry." Mit had said, waving a hand towards one of the billboards on the other side of the road, it was probably shining right into his eyes. "All this is distracting for someone who... Well, doesn't live here." He said awkwardly. "Im fine with anything, You pick something. I dont even know what half these places are!" He finished, lifting his cup of tea to his mouth to take a sip.

It was funny, the noise continued around them and just as many people continued to walk down the busy road just a few meters away from where they were sitting. It didn't seem to slow or quiet down anytime soon. This truly was a city alive at night. A planet alive at night even.

"You... Er... How long have you lived here?" Mit added after a moment of silence with Jennifer not responding. It was something she should carefully consider one could suppose.

"A few standard time months? Time's relative, isn't that what they say? So.." She smiled a bit at herself, streatching her arms over her head and letting out a.. Sort of loud yawn:

"But! I got an idea. You got a HoloRecorder on your datapad? If not we can buy you one. But if you do have! Then I say that we from now on try to secretly take pictures of each other whenever something funny happens... And then when all this is over we can make a little portfolio? I guess?"

Jennifer shrugged, grabbing her scratched up datapad from one of the many pockets in her trousers, waving it around absentmindedly: "But what about we just walk down the main street here, try to find our way up to some of the higher levels and when you see something that looks fun. You say so? Is that the plan for now?"

"But what about we just walk down the main street here, try to find our way up to some of the higher levels and when you see something that looks fun. You say so? Is that the plan for now?" Jen had said, Mit couldnt think of anything better to do, so why not?

"Sure, If the lower levels are like this, im a bit worried to find the upper levels." He joked.

When the waiter returned to the table, Mit waved him off. "We're fine here." He handed the man a credit chip. "Keep the change." He said. Sliding out of his chair he took one last sip of his drink. "Well, come on." He extended his hand to help Jen up, She didn't need it, but habit was something hard to break.

[member="Jen"]

"Sure, If the lower levels are like this, im a bit worried to find the upper levels." Mit had said in a teasing manner and funnily enough that probably wasn't the case. The upper levels here on Antecedant was a bit more controlled, you wouldn't miss the occasional vibrant colors, but it was a bit more controlled. At least it seemed like it. So that was a plus one could suppose, at least for Mit. As he went to pay, Jennifer mentally noted it down, turning towards Mit from her seated position.

"I'll pay next time then." She had said in a matter of factly manner, seeming surprised at first as Mit so kindly reached out to help her out of the chair, but what the hell, he was just trying to be well mannered so with a laugh at the.. Well rare display of such things she extended her arm so he could help pulling her onto her feet.

As she was up standing she dusted off her jacket, smiling broadly. "Alright let us just continue up the road to the right here. Yep?"

And with those few words she was suddenly seen dodging between the tables people were seated at to get back to the large road they had previously been seated at. As she stood at the edge of where people were walking, she turned towards Mit which presumably was still trying to get out from the crowded area infront of the cantina, raising the heavy duty datapad she had been holding in her hand. "Oi, Mit. Over here."

Snap! the datapads speakers said as a white light was seen coming from the back of it, barely hearable from the noise already present around them. First picture of the night! Hopefully it was alright.

Jennifer glanced towards the screen as Mit made his way towards her.

"I'll pay next time." Jen had said, oh no she wouldn't. That would be ungracious of Mit!

He helped her to her feet and started to make his way through the crowded area. He never pushed nor shoved. "How do you get through these crowds so easily!" He shouted. even as he was getting annoyed by the amount of people he was grinning at how stupid this was. "Why am I even here! Next time, we're going to Hoth!" He could be heard saying.

"Oi, Mit Over here.~" He head Jen shout. He looked up and grinned, the flash of the datapad was nothing compared to the neon sea around them.

With an agile leap, Mit landed behind Jennifer.
"Hows it look?" He said with a grin.
[member="Jen"]

"Not too bad, I guess." Jennifer muttered out, raising the datapad for Mit to see, who know stood behind her after he had made that elegant leap of his. Yes it could be difficult to guide yourself through the terrain of endless amounts of people, but as long one was determined one would move forward. Well Jennifer's size helped her one could suppose. This size was also the reason for raising the Datapad that was now showing the picture of a Mit flashing a smile while trying to get past a group of rodians by a table.

"You're almost photogenic. Haha. So, how about you lead the way? We just go right here." Jennifer pointed towards the right side of the road, preparing to follow Mit.

"You're almost photogenic. haha. So, How about you lead the way? We just go right here." Jennifer had said, Mit grinned.

"Try to keep up!" In an instant he was racing towards the buildings on the far side of the street. With a bit of help from the neon signs, he jumped on top of a billboard. "Well, come on then!" He shouted, pulling out his own datapad he snapped a picture of Jen as she attempted to fight through the crowds. "Now were even!" He said. He started to run along the neon signs, not following any path, just seeing if the girl could keep up.

"It looks much nicer from up here." He said with a grin.

[member="Jen"]

"Wait, where are you going?! That's the wrong way!" Jennifer shouted after him, laughing meanwhile as she tried to slip after him, hurrying across the masses of people, inbetween them, left and right. As she neared the other side there was suddenly no sign of Mit, but suddenly his voice was heard from above, his shape seen ontop of a billboard. "Well, come on then!" He shouted from above, a datapad seen in his hand which snapped a picture only a second after.

What a sly little.. Hopefully she would look good on it, often she had been praised for being photogenic... Well, not really, but one could always dream. Not that she looked bad on pictures though.

"Hey that's not fair! What are you doing up there anyway?"
She said as he was finished talking, and with a few jumps and pulls she was up close to him, her feet moving carefully along it towards him. "You should watch it!" Jennifer laughed teasingly as she neared him: "The law enforcement can be quite strict here."

That, was in a way though ironic however. They wouldn't get in trouble. At least not while Jennifer was around.
