Overview | IC
Since the inception of the Mandalorian culture, those who follow the Resol’nare have become the most feared and most hated. As much as the Jedi are criticized for their dogma or the Sith for their lust of power, there has never been a true ally of the Mandalorians outside of themselves. And now, more than ever, when Mandalore has fallen and our people have been scattered, the Mando’ade need a place where they can rest from persecution and rebuild.

That is the Enclave.

A hidden covert open to all who follow the Resol’nare, the Enclave is a location in which none are turned away. Hunters have a place to take stock and find their next target; Warriors may rest, recover, and equip themselves with new items to further their capabilities in the battlefield; Foundlings and initiates to the six actions may find a place to train under the tutelage of those who came before; Blacksmiths and gunsmiths may hone and practice their craft. The Enclave is what Mandalore was, and what Mandalore cannot be: a safe space, hidden from the galaxy. Home.

What the Enclave has to Offer | OOC
The Enclave is a hub of activity for all writers who currently write or are interested in writing Mandalorians, meant to give the interesting story and thread opportunities with real in-character rewards. In the understanding that there is no real economy on the board, the Enclave operates in its own economy designed to award participation.

The Enclave is designed around Activities, threads that each have a theme or Enclave-related mission. Each Activity is different in its premise, but all three main Activities have a quest-like theme that is rewarded by one of the three ‘currencies,’ or rewards, that the Enclave has to offer. Each Activity will have the type and amount of rewards you can earn from it listed, so you will know what you get out of a thread line.

Each Activity has its own ‘Mission,’ a premise that defines the Activity and what exactly the overall goal of the thread should be. From there, however, you’re free to introduce twists and turns that make any Activity you participate in all the more interesting. To count towards any reward from the Enclave, a thread must be approved by the Quartermaster, who acts as the vendor of the Enclave Marketplace.

The Quartermaster may also dungeon-master Activities and start Activities that are open for characters to join -- these activities, by virtue of being managed by the Enclave OOC, are already pre-approved. Don’t refrain from making your own threads, however; as long as a thread follows the basic premise of an Activity and meets the required amount of posts, it will count towards a reward. Vaults are recommended to be dungeon-mastered by virtue of them being the most complex (and most rewarding) of the activities at the Enclave, and because each vault is at a specific location versus the more open-ended design of the other Activities.

Rewards
Shards
, the in-character and out-of-character currency of the Enclave, is the first and most common reward from Activities. Every activity sponsored by the Enclave will reward you Shards, which are used to buy the three levels of gear: Enclave, Legendary, and Exotic.

The second and less common reward is Legendary Tokens. To buy a Legendary item from the Enclave, you must use a Legendary Token alongside the required amount of Shards. Different types of threads, but not all of them, have a chance to give you a Legendary Token -- with some types of threads having a chance to get a higher number.

Legendary Tokens come in two varieties - Standard Tokens and Planetary Tokens. Planetary Tokens are earned at vaults at specific locations and can be redeemed for legendary items from that location. Standard Tokens, in the meantime, are earned in raids and can be redeemed for any legendary item.

The third and perhaps least common reward are Exotic items. Each exotic item is a unique factory submission, with a history behind it and specialized traits that make it like no other weapon, armor, or item found on Chaos. Because they are unique, earning an Exotic means that your character is the only character on Chaos to own that specific item, making them all the more rewarding.

When first joining the Enclave, you immediately receive ten Shards to either buy or save. Each character’s inventory of currency is carefully kept track of, meaning you don’t have to immediately spend all of your hard-earned Shards. All types of items can be bought at the Enclave Marketplace, except for Exotics; keep in mind, however, that the higher-rarity an item is, the higher its cost.

The Karjr
The Karjr are voluntary warriors from the Enclave who operate with the authority of the Vicelord in places untouched by traditional law enforcement. Unlike day police, the Karjr operate with the traditional modus operandi of the Ori’ramikade, or the Mandalorian Supercommandos in Basic. The Karjr are not afraid to break the law in order to deal out justice.

On the day-to-day, the Karjr roam the unsavory districts of various Confederacy worlds, defending those who cannot and dealing out Mandalorian justice. The Karjr is there to keep the underworld of the Confederacy under reasonable control; they are compensated for their vigilance by the Enclave, giving the incentive to do the dirty work.

A Karjr reports to the Quartermaster of the Enclave, who acts as a loose retainer of the Karjr. While they usually operate freely, the Quartermaster occasionally will rally a team of Karjr after a high-value or exceptionally problematic target. Whether they be crime syndicates, a mobster organization, or a union of sleazy used-droid salesmen, the Karjr will be there to ensure that peace is upheld in the Southern Systems.

Common Questions
  • Question: Why did you make the Enclave?
    • Answer: I wanted to create an economic system in Chaos where people could write adventures that had real in-character rewards for participating in, as well as create a hub of activity for Mandalorian writers.
  • Question: Who is the leader of the Enclave?
    • Answer: Although the vendor of the Enclave and occasional dungeon-master is the Quartermaster, the Enclave is designed to give a system in which you are free to operate unabated. So long as you follow the guidelines established, you can essentially lone-wolf and still have a fun experience.
  • Question: Is the Enclave a Faction?
    • Answer: The Enclave may have a faction page, but it is not a faction in a traditional sense. Mandalorians who participate are not required to swear an oath of allegiance and are basically given free-roam in who they align themselves with. If a Mandalorian is part of the NIO or GA, for example, they can still participate in Enclave activities without changing their loyalties. However, some activities and roles, such as the Karjr, are limited to Confederate Mandalorians only.
  • Question: Is the Enclave part of the CIS?
    • Answer: The Enclave is a sub-faction of the CIS; it is independent in some ways, has it's own narratives and command structure apart from the faction, but still associates with the Confederacy through its location on Roon and the Karjr, volunteer warriors deputized to patrol the Confederacy's underworld.
  • Question: Who can join and participate in the Enclave?
    • Answer: Any Mandalorian character can participate in the Enclave (meaning any character that follows the Resol’nare. If you are Mandalorian by blood but do not follow the Way of your Clan, you are not a Mandalorian in the eyes of the Enclave).
  • Question: So, when does this start?
    • Answer: The Enclave is being announced before completion, as there are several factory and codex submissions and other OOC stuff to be done before the Enclave is 'launched.' Don't worry -- the Enclave is near completion, and regular progress updates will be given.
  • Question: Is this just Destiny, but in Star Wars?
    • Answer: Yes.
    • Serious Answer: Jokes aside, the Enclave -- especially it’s marketplace and reward system -- are inspired by many looter-shooters such as Destiny, but aside from that the Enclave is also its own identity. It’s not just a marketplace, but a gathering for all Mandalorian Writers to band together (quite literally) and create new legends.
