The perhaps poorly named Meditation Tonic is an effort by Cord to neutralize the greatest weakness of all lonely paranoid Sith. The need to sleep. Cord has noticed through study that the Bith do not actually require sleep as most species do, and instead can meditate for roughly half the time and have the same effects as a normal rest. Notably Bith are "mostly aware of their surroundings" during this process. This potion provides a little bit of Bith to the consumer, and allows them to bypass sleep in favor of a meditative trance.
The user simply chugs and appropriate amount of tonic once sleepy and then enters said meditative stance. During this trance the user maintains a strong amount of awareness of their surroundings, but any exertion breaks the trance. This trance needs to be maintained for roughly half the time of a normal sleep, e.g. near humans typically require a four hour trance. While this is more restrictive than say, drinking caf, it's much more maintainable long term as it does not reduce any of the user's mental faculties and the user does not build a tolerance to it(require more later).
