Mectus' Automated Industrial Complex is less of a company and more of the industrial branch of the Mectus AI. Countless subroutines run the industrial parts of The Habitat on Kassus, constantly producing Frames (droids and ships that the Mectus AI can inhabit and control). This is mostly done through large automated factories, however, some of the automated processes and the upkeep of the machines is done by Tech-Priests dedicated to the Mectus AI, believing him to be their deity and these machines to be magical constructs used to further his will.
RATIONALE
It took Mectus several hundred years to spread the industrial complex to the limits it is today, slowly expanding The Habitat and relocating resources to these automated factories to build them. Mectus' first automated factory was established shortly after the founding of The Habitat. The founders realized that they needed to rely heavily on automated technology to help them survive, as their small numbers could not invent, create, and maintain all the technology to keep them alive on this atmosphereless moon. It was here that Mectus created his first Frames, used to keep the other machines going and to operate on the moon's surface when needed.
It was really only when Mectus became a deity to the population that his automated factories really began to grow. Since he now basically had control over the entire facility, new frames, equipment, and ships were constantly needed to help expand Mectus' influence and to help expand The Habitat quickly. Great drilling machines were created to expand, and massive solar powered vehicles would travel around the moon, staying on the light side, gathering energy and depositing it back at The Habitat when they circled around. It took hundreds of years for Mectus to have this much industry, and he will continue to expand it.
