Mechanical Beasts (Foundry Of The Maker and Avery Designs)

Lord Mettallum

A really buffed Metal Lord
Lord Mettallum was looking down at his factory trying to figure out how to deal with a small problem he has bumped into which was that he needed droids that could somewhat blend in with organic life and be used for jobs such as surveillance and reconnaissance while also not scaring organics as Lord Mettallum found out not all organics on loronar like seeing Beta Dragons fly past them. While looking for a company that sold any form of surveillance Lord Mettallum found Avery Designs. While the company was somewhat new it had exactly the type of droids and drones Lord Mettallum was looking for. Due to the fact Avery Designs seemed to be based in the outer rim and Lord Mettallum not knowing any way to contact the owner of Avery Design, [member="Zai Avery"] Lord Mettallum decided to send his faithful to all known planets Avery Designs is based in.

After a few days one of the Faithful was successfully able to spot Zai Avery in a cantina on Ryloth. With her two D1 body guards in tow. Once she walked up to Zai she would tap him on the shoulder if he had not noticed her already

Zai nerves were frayed, he was badly on edge. Every day it was the same routine, after the First Order posted that bounty on his head. Sleepless nights, always looking over his shoulder. He knew he was in a bad position. He'd spent the last of his credits covering his tracks, both physically and digitally. It was expensive to remove details from the holonet, and even then he could only hide so much. He was almost ready to go into hiding, he just needed one more, very important, thing. Money.

In desperation he'd sent feelers throughout the galaxy, searching for a business partner. But few were interested in his small-time company. Then just as he was about to give up entirely, he was contacted by [member="Lord Mettallum"]. The only catch? He wanted the designs, not the droids themselves.

He clutched at his drink in his favourite cantina on Ryloth. He glanced over his shoulder for the eighth time and debated how he would reach the Metal Lord. He didn't have enough money to hire private transport, so he would have to take commercial freighters. And even though he was far from First Order space, the chance of being spotted by a bounty hunter was great. The situation became a catch 22 as he realised the longer he stayed in one place, the more likely he was to be spotted.

His train of thought was interrupted as a ornate golden droid approached him. He swallowed and reflexively reached for his blaster. The droid held her arms up as a symbol of peace. "This one means you no harm. I bring you a message on behalf of Lord Metallum". Zai hesitated, but eventually let go of the hilt of his weapon. She seemed harmless enough, though her gold plates attracted the attention of all kinds of swindlers.

"Very well" He replied. "What is the message?" She cocked her head to the side at his response and said: "Lord Metallum invites you Loronar, where the two of you will discuss the terms of the business arrangement". She produced a formal invitation that repeated exactly what she said, with the addition of a Lord Metallum's signature. Zai didn't like the idea of meeting on the Metal Lord's lands, but he sensed he was out of options. "Very well, I suppose you have a transport to take me?" "Rightly so" She replied. Ignoring the stares of the other patrons; Zai followed her out of the cantina.

The flight over was uncomfortable. He sensed the droid might have been programmed to interact with organics, but was set on minimum function. She had insisted on taking his weapon, but he gripped a small pen knife in his pocket all the same. They passed the Jade moon and landed on the metal lord's ship, The Metal throne. He was greeted by more of the Faithful, who escorted him through the metal lord's palace. The ship was huge, and Zai felt small under the weight of it all.

The faithful led him to a large room where he finally met the metal lord himself. Zai bowed his head as a sign of respect. "Lord Metallum, thank you for letting me into your home. I've come to discuss the terms of our agreement". He shuffled a bit and waited for the response.

Lord Mettallum was Awaiting for [member="Zai Avery"] in one of the conference rooms in his ship. Once the shuttle Zai was in reached Loronar space and requested to board The Metal Throne, Lord Mettallum granted it and sent two of his faithful to escort Zai to the conference room. Once Zai entered the room he would see a massive conference table with multiple chairs around it clearly made for beings around Lord Mettallum's size to sit on.

"Welcome Zai Avery I Lord Mettallum do hope you had a wonderful trip here. Now if you would kindly take a seat we shall commence the negotiations"
As Lord Mettallum was speaking he gestured his Faithful away and took a seat. As he sat down one of his GP Guardian Droid move behind him while another one walked past Zai to close the door behind Zai before moving next to its fellow GP Guardian Droid.

"Now Mr Avery will you like any drinks however I Lord Mettallum must warn you we droids make pretty bland drink. Anyway enough chit chat I Lord Mettallum must know how much would a shipment or blueprints of lets say your bird drones or what ever you call them and have you ever tested any of your drones on the field before?.

Zai wrung his hands nervously. [member="Lord Mettallum"] was massive, as was his furniture. Zai, who was small by human standards, was dwarfed by the massive chair he sat in. He felt like a toddler sitting in an adult's chair.

He asked for a glass of water and was delivered a glass of distilled, pure H2O. Mettallum gave him a short moment to get settled before rapidly firing off multiple questions. Zai choked a little on his drink as his mind swam with the questions. The Metal Lord wasted no time it seemed, and wanted the business concluded as soon as possible.

Zai cleared his throat. "To answer your second question, Avery Designs provides extensive testing on all products. The droid in question, The A-37 X, has been tested in flight on 43 separate occasions. Additionally we performed diagnostics and stress tests on the machinery and it performs well. I have the details here". He knelt on his seat to reach the bench and slid a large folder towards the metal lord.

He took another sip of his drink. "Inside are also details on the other two droids produced by Avery Designs. Did you want me explain them or are you purely interested in the raven?" He finished his drink as he waited for the response.
