Black Sun Space

On a random Black Sun-affiliated planet a single ship settled down on a landing pad, it was the personal, yet slightly incognito personal ship of the Voice of the Dark Lord, Darth Carach. The reason of his arrival on the planet was an important one, he had been made aware of certain things, things that made the pebble-seeking soul of his very happy indeed.

A long time ago Velok, with the help of Rave Merrill, had hosted a great auction from which a metric fethton of artifacts, holocrons and the like had been distributed throughout the Galaxy, talk about dissemination of information. Amongst those holocrons was the ancient holocron of Adas, said to contain an extensive history of the Sith and a reasonably complete collection of Sith Magicks.

From a friend he had managed to collect the Telos Holocron, and now he was here in the hope of trading one for the other. It had been Domino who had acquired the Adas Holocron, but with her gone - the only reasonable possibility was her old apprentice.

Carach was not sure if she owned Domino’s artifacts, but it was a good guess if anything. From his wide network of information and a suitable amount of money passed, the Sith Lord had a rough idea of where miss [member="Wendy La Fey"] would be.

And so that is where he has headed right now.

Wendy did have Domino's things well what she left her. No one actually knowing if she left them behind or took them with herself to places Unknown. The knight who was with the Sun but they were slowly disappearing secured the satchel from Akure on her shoulders while she was walking in the Song of the Suns armor. Fashioned after her masters but with less bulk, more compartments for her ammo and with the HUD she was looking over reports. With the Ravens being a thing it meant they needed to watch closely but she wasn't a soldier like some of the others. She was a healer and the books she had in her satchel was well versed in helping her while she moved through the marketplace retracting the helmet of the armor and shaking her head. "Thank you Ishi these will work good for the clinic," As she continued she held some of the fruit in a container and stopped to hand some over to the beggers but still beelined it towards the free clinic they had for the devastation.

There was a clinic she was rumored to work in on this planet, that was where Carach was heading right now. Again the Sith Lord didn’t have any solid leads, he didn’t know if the apprentice had been given the holocron or if it was still in the possession of Domino herself. This was literally a hail mary, other leads weren’t forthcoming so to speak.

It would take him a few more minutes to get to the clinic and in the meanwhile he was pondering about this thing. The Adas Holocron for the Telos Holocron, it was a fair bargain, both holocrons were top-tier, artifacts of big importance and yet the Adas would give him something the Telos couldn’t.

A way to con a con man, and that was where the fun would begin.

The clinic as Wendy stood inside it was simple enough, a waiting room with fish tank, booths for patients to get seen by nurses and a wall with an automated door you got buzzed in for the back area where the doctors were. Wendy was with them while her jaw was tight and standing over one of the patients. Hands glowing with the force as she pooled it and sent it down into the body willing the wounds to mend. It wasn't fully force healing it was more what Domino taught her, willing the person's body to mend through the force and with the anesthetics to numb the pain while she was using what Domino taught her from the books to heal the patients with the force. the barest of tendrils of force energy going into the bodies as she pushed it into them.

Carach walked into the clinic and looked around for a while, before finally settling on the fish tank in the middle of the waiting room. It seemed the clinic had some style, giving folks something to look at while waiting the endless hours until their appointment was a go. The Sith pondered for a while, and finally decided to go with the more appropriate method - which was to wave one of the assistants over and tell her that he was looking for one [member="Wendy La Fey"]

He was told that she was currently with a patient, which was alright with him. For these kind of things there was enough patience to be had, so the Voice settled down in one of the chairs of the waiting room with the request to mention to Wendy that he was waiting for her to finish up.

Perhaps after she was done with her patients they could discuss business.

Wendy stood over the bed as she finished up, her hands coming away as the assistant pulled a chair to catch her offering a glass of water. She looked up running a hand through her short hair as she smiled to herself. "You should be okay, I'll be back around with the rounds later." She leaned back in the seat taking a moment to really breathe in and out while one of the nurses approached her. "Wendy there is a man here to see you." There was a whistle from one of the nurses as she scrunched her face blowing out a line in the air. "Alright alright I have no idea who it is but... I'll go and see him."

There was a small smile and moment as she waited there, letting herself fix her hair and wipe some of the sweat from her face before she was securing her satchel under her shoulder and clasping it closed. Not many people came to see her and with the Suns being quiet, with Miss Domino busy on her self exile and quest few people sought her out. Wendy moved going to the doors and waiting for a moment before they opened to have the man pointed out as she stared for a moment then two. She didn't know who that was and now was looking at it with both an air of curiosity and slight fear.

Her eyes flicked to one of the security guards just in case but they were paid to protect the people with tazers and binders. It wasn't a high paying job that she didn't envy but keeping the workers safe from unruly or dangerous. She didn't have her sonic shotgun but the saber was in her satchel just in case. The doors opened with a buzzing sound as a small jet of air came blowing the short hair before she came through standing for a moment with enough space for others to get around her as she spoke. "You were asking for me." She let the confusion play across her face but kept her eyes searching for any signs of hostility or deception.

Miss La Fey, a pleasure.’ the businessman would answer with a simple curt nod, he rose from his chair and added a slight bow for good measure. It never hurt to be civil and polite in a conversation, some Sith enjoyed to play the overbearing pesky brute and others understood that waving around your metaphorical stick only brought you so far in the Galaxy. ‘Is there a place where we can talk in private? We have important business to discuss.’

[member="Darth Carach"]

That was curious, she wasn't certain of what business they might have while her mind was trying to think about it. To place his face with some dealing they had done. There was nothing coming to her while she gave a brief nod backing away just a bit to let him rise up. Her head looking around for somewhere private while she motioned going to the doors and getting buzzed in. Making the path towards the break room as she opened it up revealing a dimly lit room with a couch, caf machine and fridge. The table covered in boxes of pastries and water bottles. She motioned the man in with her hand while turning the lights up to illuminate the area as the mismatched and broken tiles with a set of lockers on a wall had name plates. "It isn't much but it will be private enough." She looked at the lockers for a moment walking towards them and standing. She had more of her equipment in the locker for safe keeping and protection just in case someone tried fighting in the place. "So who are you? I have not done much business outside of working with Miss Domino and I don't remember you from any of it."

[member="Wendy La Fey"]

It didn’t take a genius to understand why Wendy was standing at the locker, but Carach wasn’t here for any fighting or conflicts, contrary to popular belief he didn’t believe in handling his affairs that way. It only made future engagements more messy and difficult and that was a thing the Sith tried to avoid whenever possible.

So the Sith Lord simply settled himself down in the chair, his hands gently placed on the table and relaxed himself. This would hopefully show the woman that he wasn’t here to kick her teeth in or start any problems.

‘Sadly I never had the chance to meet miss Domino, my business kept me occupied in other areas. But it has come to my attention that she was in the possession of various valuable artifacts.’

Straight to the point, that was another thing Carach liked. He didn’t enjoy waxing around affairs when it could be handled clearly and correctly.

‘With her gone my only lead is you, I am not stating that you are in the possession of the goods and you do not have to tell me. But I am simply here to tell you that if you would be able to procure that which I am interested in, that I would be willing to barter for quite a bit of things in return.’

And then he waited for all manners of responses she could give him.

Wendy was expecting that as she stood there, a small smirk coming across her face. Well he was smart at least in some things, she would be the one who knew where things had been kept at least... most would assume that... and she did in her own way. She chewed her lower lips in contemplation at first if she should say anything about it though and looked at him. Not reaching into the locker to her weapon but instead putting the satchel into it as she spoke closing the locker with a wider smile. "Most would think she took things with her but most people are a little dense. My master was smart but she wasn't like many others and greedy... where it mattered. Credits were one thing but she had wanted to share the knowledge she had with those who were special. Even made a school awhile ago with a special vault that could house holocrons, treasures and would have a private link to the Reason."

She left the explanation of the ship go, most knew Domino's Reason, the largest stealth ship in the galaxy and what it usually did which was sit around and orbit planets secretly. Having another one of the vaults her master was fond of. "As to the artifacts she had well my master had several vaults not including the public one on her station that most would usually go for." Now she sat down across from him and took one of the pastries that was only slightly stale and tore a small chunk off. "Though the real truth is all of her vaults are fake, my master kept everything in plain sight for people to see and they would always miss it. No one sees a sith holocron when they are looking at a ship models base or a book filled with secrets when it is next to an almanac of playhutt. Their neglect and thinking everything needs to be behind something special became the ultimate ally."

That was what she usually did as well having another small bite and quickly chewing it. "So depending on what you are looking for and have to offer I could be convinced to reveal its location and where she kept it. The vaults are only important for keeping our vacation pictures and when we went to the hologram fun world. We got pictures with every historical figure we could think of and danced with the image of the chancellor into the night."

It seemed that miss La Fey wasn’t dense by any sense of the imagination. What’s more, it seemed that she had intricate knowledge on how her Master had operated- which might not sound strange or special, but man and women of power such as Domino? They usually didn’t share knowledge and power easily.

But it seemed that had been exactly what Domino had done with Wendy. Which would made this trade just that much more easy to figure out.

‘The Adas Holocron.’ the Sith Lord simply said at first, there was no reason to beat around the bush or play games here. He wasn’t here for that, he simply wished to make a business transaction.

‘I see you care a fair amount for the clinic here, it seems you are somewhat of a healer yourself. I am prepared to donate a substantial amount of money to expand the clinic. Allowing it to treat and help more people.’

This was only the first bid, of course. But this would show that Carach was serious about the entire deal, that he understood what Wendy was doing here and that he respected it.

Because that’s all this boils down to, no? Simple respect.

That holocron.... Wendy paused for a moment and her chewing stopped for a moment before she continued. "Oh that holocron... that is something very valuable that is stored somewhere not many would go." Okay she was lying kind of while she moved standing with a smile. "Alright I think that can be done for something more then just credits though. Donations in large amounts raise questions where knowledge of techniques can save others." A smile played at the edge of her lips now though. "As for the holocron itself that is going to need some supplies. Heatsuits, radiations shields, weed killer most likely, some hacking spikes." Okay she was rambling off random things now while getting her bag with a medical waste symbol as she opened it and there was a pop as she broke the seal of resin for the false bottom. Bringing the holocron up and out of her bag. "Or just look five feet. Plain sight after all. No one ever thinks to look in a bag marked waste."

Two raised eyebrows to indicate just how surprised the Sith Lord was, he definitely hadn’t been expecting this kind of hiding place for a valuable holocron such as the Adas Holocron. But perhaps that was the entire point of it, no? Who would ever suspect that it was hidden underneath the fake bottom of a simple medical dufflebag?

Definitely not him, but those two eyebrows raised up was the only indication of surprise, before Carach simply nodded in affirmation.

‘The money will of course be transferred through multiple proxy channels, over a reasonable long timespan too.’ the Sith Lord explained, before acknowledging the point brought up. Money was a good commodity and it would grease things, but there needed to be an equalizer.

‘Have you ever heard of the Telos Holocron, Miss La Fey?’

[member="Darth Carach"]

That was more then enough and she was interested now, a holocron like that could do wonders... Just learning how the darksiders used their magics to heal or to mend... Okay Domino had explained it to her once that it was less mending and more they bludgeoned the body to be whole again with nasty scars. Her eyes almost lit up for a moment while she held the holocron and spoke. "I have, last time I remember hearing about it someone had stolen from the sith emperor along with his diary. One who has that would be very influential I gather. It would make my master happy if I had it but I don't know where it is."

Lips curled up in a smile and the Sith Lord pulled something out of his cloaks. His hand revealed an object of atypical design, for those in the know and those that could extend their senses with the Force? They would know that this wasn’t just some kind of art piece, it had the Darkside around it and perhaps Wendy would recognize the design from some old pictures.

Luckily I do know where it is.’

A shrug.

Do we have a deal?

[member="Darth Carach"]

Wendy was looking at it, the design the idea of it. He had kept it on himself which... again she was thinking the best way and unexpected. No one suspected someone to just hold a valuable thing in their pocket... Assuming it wasn't a fake but she doubted on would go through all that trouble. While sitting in her seat she placed the holocron on the table and almost wanted to say gimme but didn't. Instead sliding hers while holding her hand for him to make the exchange. "It is beautiful."

[member="Wendy La Fey"]

And so a deal was made.

The Sith Lord placed the object in her extended hand and accepted the Adas Holocron in exchange, because that was really the only thing that had truly interested him. A repository of knowledge that contained Sith Magicks and the complete history of the Sith, there were few things that were as valuable to him as that.

“A pleasure doing business with you, Miss La Fey.” Carach would finally say, after gently touching the Holocron with the Force and making sure it was the genuine article.

Holocron such as these ones were hard to replicate, it would take a Master Builder several magnitudes above what Carach could accomplish.

And so Carach knew that it was truly the holocron of old.

With that he would raise himself from his seat, the holocron disappearing in his cloaks and gave the woman in front of him a shallow bow.

“If you ever find something else of interest… you know where to find me.”

And she would know, magically.

With that Carach departed, leaving Wendy to play around with her new acquisition. People like them… needed some private time, to truly be able to appreciate the gift given.

Wendy gave a nod of her head and held the holocron as she looked it over. Letting him depart and she slid it into the bags false bottom next to the other things she had of value. Maybe not as much but Domino had left her a few things... if she could ever figure out what that secret order thing was or how to use it. They should have given her a decoder ring... would have looked so much cooler while she closed it up. The slowly straightened her hair while exiting and offering a smile to the doctors there. The credits she hoped would help them and she would always be able to find some place really nice to set her ship and have some drinks.
