SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Pulse Stun: Rather than be a weapon of mass destruction the Incapacitator is a souped-up ion cannon with the express focus of disabling sentients with as little harm as possible. A damaged slave has no purpose on the market, after all. It is capable of projecting pulsed stun ray blasts of around six by six meters. This makes it essentially perfect for crowd-control and disabling groups of individuals.
Strengths:
  • RoF: It can project its stun blast in an efficient and relatively fast manner.
  • Range: The combination of efficient design and power distribution allows the cannon to be effective on a battlefield scale.
  • Modular: Capable of being mounted on various starship classes, even those that weren't expressly designed for this armament.
Weaknesses:
  • Scaling: It is only capable of being mounted on ships up to a Frigate. Anything larger than that and accidents start to happen, because of interference from the larger-scaled repulsor lifts and artificial gravity fields.
  • Effectiveness: It is most effective against unarmored / unshielded objectives. Any military shielding will decrease its ability to stun its targets. The same goes for heavily armored targets.
DESCRIPTION
Inspired by the ancient Deck Sweeper stun blaster design that allowed a blaster to project large cones that stunned its targets at a mere touch the Zygerrians realized they wanted something similar in their ships. After all, while it was wholly possibly to stack their starships, gunships and the sort with weapons of mass destruction... a dead slave wasn't really worth much on the market.

The Incapacitator is the answer to that.

Designed to be mounted on ships up to Frigate-size (smaller is possible, larger is not) the stun cannon is effective at what it does. With a rapid rate of fire and a decent amount of punch behind it, it is efficient at offering the possibility to stun relatively large crowds. Unless they are heavily armored or shielded anyway.

The more armor or shielding has been stacked on top of the target, the less effective the stun ability is.

As an example a sentient wearing just regular clothing might be taken out in a single shot and be incapacitated for hours, while someone wearing thick armor (or an advanced shield generator) might just be dazed from one shot.

For your effective range of Battlefield you are missing the justification in Strenghts/Weaknesses as required by the template.

  • Effective Range: (Effective range in relation to the weapon type. Remember that a carbine will have a longer range than a pistol, an assault rifle longer range than a carbine, and a sniper rifle longer than an assault rifle. Choose from Point Blank, Personal, Average, Long Range, Battlefield, and Extreme. Battlefield and Extreme will require justification in strengths and weaknesses.)
