Description:
History: The MCL40 Valiant-class is a direct descendent of the old Mon Calamari MC40a light cruiser. modernized and updated to the current technological levels, the engineers at MCS have given the old class new life in the MCL40.
Design:
The vessel is built n the same principle as all Mon Calamari built ships. Defense over offense. Made to out last its enemy and win by attrition. With redundant systems and overlapping quad redundancy shielding the Valiant is a formidable vessel often underestimated by its enemies. With energy absorbing framework and ablative layered armor the MCL40 is the perfect ship for solo missions and patrols, Escorting convoys and larger vessels, and as assault support for small assault missions.
Armaments
The Valiant-class is lightly armed relying on its defensive capabilities to survive and defeat its enemies. Six turbolaser Hex Batteries make up the main armament of the vessel, Defensively four heavy defense batteries give the ship anti-fighter and anti-projectile capabilities with their eight rapid fire point defense lasers and short ranged light defense turbolaser cannons.
Complement:
The MCL40 Valiant has one large hanger amidships which open on each flank. This hanger can accommodate three full squadron of attack craft and the dropships and shuttles of the assault force. The vessel carries a full company complement of one hundred and eighty troops and twelve vehicles or walkers, which are used as security and assault troops.
