Oblivion Mayday, Payday

That was the problem with well-paying jobs - clients never paid more than they had to. This one had paid very well.

As the situation continued to deteriorate, Sar popped one of the Bryn's kneecaps with another blaster bolt, then proceeded to manoeuvre himself as far away from the drones as possible. Only too late did he realised that the damn spirit had been suborned. So much for that guide.

The decision was quick. Almost routine. His blaster shifted marginally, his finger squeezed off a bolt at the onrushing ghost - and a sudden telepathic warning skewered his aim, the bolt either missing entirely or merely grazing the ghost-turned-drone.

"Chit."

Dropping to his knees, Sar's rifle fell from limp fingers, his eyes rolling back as a series of military-grade implants detected and responded to what could only be external influence, pumping his body full of stimulants in the process. Semi-functional against a telepath, less so whatever this was. When a measured approach failed, the unfeeling machinery kicked into overdrive, causing uncontrollable spasms in the mercenary.

In time, however, they too fell still. Inert, their purpose altered.

His endeavor a success, Will did not retreat from Sar’s body just yet. For now there was still the matter of the Mandalorian who was firing upon the group of drones… their comrades now.

Instead, the ghost took control of the cyborg, commanding it as if it were a mech with him in the pilot’s seat to walk toward Darlyn. The other drones would have stopped attacking them by now, instead concentrating all their fire on the Mandalorian, making it all the more obvious that Sar and Will were both part of the collective.

Despite Will exerting his control, Sar’s combat training, his “fighting instincts” as it were, remained in effect. In other words, Will didn’t try to stop him from firing back in self-defense, if indeed Darlyn did turn his fire on them - but Will didn't want to kill the Mandalorian. If they could just get close enough, Will was going to peel out of Sar's body in order to skinjack Darlyn, intent on rewriting him into another one of Omni’s minions.
