DESCRIPTION
This duster is made of alchemized Maalraas leather. Rather than strengthening the Maalraas' natural defence against force and heat, judging those to be sufficient as they were, Dhakarta instead imbued with jacket with the Sense of Veshet, a uniquely Dathomirian 'spell'. While it is weaker than it would be if preformed by if actively performed by a Witch, she was quite pleased with the results.

The lining of both the jacket and it's multiple pockets is baffleweave, to help Mavrek keep his business just that, his business.

It's also a rather eye-catching red, making sure Mavrek is not only protected, he's stylish. Very important.

Strengths:
  • Allows for Wide Range of Movement
  • Protects against range of attacks - specifically any that can be considered heat based, including lightsabers, plasma weaponry and fire. This is a natural feature of Maalraas leather.
  • Baffleweave - The baffleweave lining confounds most sensors and scanners, allowing Mavrek to transport what he likes, as long as he doesn't get the pat down.
  • Sense of Veshet - Allows the user to see in the dark, as long as there is some slight bit of light. Unlike when used by a Witch, the version present in this jacket does not allow the user to see in true darkness. Also imbues user with a strong sense of smell, allowing them to sift through scents within a five to ten foot radius depending on the strength of the smell, allows them to recognize people via scent or track scents. Radius is much reduced from the average 100 metres when used by a Witch.
Weaknesses:
  • Leather - Can Only take a small amount of kinetic damage before needing repair, might slow a knife a bit, but zero defence against slugthrowers
  • Jacket - It does not protect Mavreks head, feet, shins or hands. This reduces the amount of, for example, heat damage it can effectively block because while his torso would be okay, Mavreks head will fry from the ambient heat rendering its strong defensive capabilities on that front a rather moot point.
  • Recognizeable - It's a bright red leather duster, it stands out
  • Force Foolishness - While within a Ysalamiri or equivalent field, the alchemical effects are no longer active, and do not reestablish themselves until the force nullification is removed.
 
Hello, I'll be judging your submission this evening.

Looks pretty good, just one question, what would be the result of the jacket being used within a ysalamari field or other force nullification area? I assume it would no longer carry it's alchemized properties.
