MISC EQUIPMENT
  • Standard Countermeasure Suite– The Cossack features a standard set of flares, chaff, ECM and ECCM for protection against hostile targeting and weaponry.
  • Heavy Deflector Shield Generator – That first layer or protection.
  • Internal Missile Magazine - Automated system containing two sets of reloads for the multipurpose launchers. Requires one crew (typically a gunner) to operate safely.
  • Encrypted Communication System - Includes standard battlefield comms and tactical and battlefield datalinks.
  • Combat Scanners and Advanced Targeting Suite - Contains your standard TAT, BAC and TIN, plus a variety of other advanced systems to make the Cuirassier lethal at range and up close. Specifically includes aural and sonic sensors to help compensate for blind spot.
  • Fully Sealed Environment System - For hostile climate operation, whether that be a Zero-G planet or a battlefield where chemical weapon use is anticipated or active.
  • Ionic Defense Suite - Including Cap Drains, Anti-Ion Mesh, and standard EMP reinforcement. A repulsorcraft without power is a formerly floating brick, after all.
  • Reactive Magazine Survivability System - The internal magazine is a semi-separate enclosed system that can be ejected from the craft either upon receiving critical damage or by approval of the tank commander. This renders the missile system totally inoperable.
Strengths:
  • Tank Destroyer - The Mk 45 Railcannon is capable of putting a hole in nearly any similarly-sized tank or armored vehicle, or at least doing a lot of damage.
  • Good Defenses - A good top speed, combined with double-layered protection, and
  • Versatile Missile Suite - An extra punch when needed, not to mention air defense.
Neutral
  • Lacks traditional viewports, has a variety of positive and negative effects, detailed below.
Weaknesses:
  • Dedicated Anti-Armor - Limited effectiveness of railcannon against unarmored or soft targets.
  • Missile Magazine - Explosives tend to explode when shot. Penetrating the armor in the area of the magazine will almost certainly disable the Cossack.
  • Repulsor Vulnerability - The skids still have much lighter armor than the rest of the craft.
Description:
A follow on development of the Cuirassier, the Cossack is a dedicated anti-armor vehicle, designed to outrun, outflank, and destroy enemy tanks and heavy equipment with precision fire.

The Cossack features much of the same equipment as its less specialized brother, sporting similar defensive systems, anti-personnel blasters, and even the same embedded missile system. It is not the same tank, though, and the shields and armor are overall somewhat lighter (though more heavily sloped) in order to make more room for prominent main gun.

A development of standard railgun technology, the FR-45(v)3 High Density Railcannon launches a 27mm projectile at hypersonic velocities, resulting in a kinetic impact that is staggeringly effective against armor (and shields). In rounds of testing, Light and Medium vehicles were typically destroyed outright by the heat, spalling, and pressure of the impact. Heavy tank-like vehicles were disabled or heavily damaged. The FR-45 also displayed excellent damage profiles against large walker-type vehicles, though it did not achieve penetrating kills on single shots.

Secondary weaponry is the same battery of 4-tube multipurpose missile launchers featured on the Cuirassier. This is usually a mix of anti-personnel fragmentation rounds and anti-air missiles, though conventional warheads like Concussion Missiles can fit too. An internal magazine contains two reloads for each tube, for a total of 64 missiles when fully loaded. Reloading takes time, about 45 seconds per launcher. Of course the magazine is vulnerable to enemy fire, and an internal detonation will almost certainly disable the Cuirassier if not outright destroy it. The Reactive Magazine Survivability System can prevent that if utilized properly, at the cost of losing the whole missile system. Four fully automated anti-personnel repeating blasters mounted on the rear and sides of the craft round out the weapon systems.

Armor is layers of trimantium on top of a durable Quadanium Steel hull. It is heavily sloped on the sides and the nose, giving great resistance against head-on fire. Unlike the Cuirassier, the Cossack does not feature a tiny slit viewport for the pilot. A prominent scanner tower mounted behind the gun turrets collects data from various sensors and numerous cameras and feeds it all to the crew. While this gives the tank remarkably good general awareness it does render the tower vulnerable to fire. Should the sensor tower be destroyed, the pilot of the craft must manually open a viewport to drive, exposing both him and the interior of the tank to fire. It also means that directly below the tank is a large blind spot. This is compensated in part by aural and sonic sensors, but is still exploitable by a clever opponent.

The Cossack also features a heavy deflector shield generator to act as a rechargeable first line of defense for the tank. It is not quite as heavy as that of the similar one of the Cuirassier, in order to allow for more power to propulsion and maneuverability, the hallmarks of a good tank destroyer.

With all the ratings you've got that are 'High,' it's clear that this is an already exceptionally strong vehicle. Without necessitating lowering production, I'll give you the option to lower the rating down to a Moderate, one higher than the Average it was set at previously, and one lower for what you have currently, an even balance.

Please give a rating for the armaments. I realize the cookie-cutters have not been updated to reflect this rule change however it is in the original template.
