With the development of the Barbarian Rancor, the need for the assigned handlers to be able to do their job came about. The reproduction of the matron pheromone, essentially what tells a baby rancor who is it's mother, was needed. The pheromone was created, tested with some failures initially, before quickly coming to a universal series of pheromone strains that most Barbarian Rancor recognize as their maternal figure. The pheromones themselves are created in a lab within the Myrkr zoo, each batch tested before mass production is begun using the strain. Revisions are sometimes made to add a certain marker into the sequence, but this specific pheromone is designed to work exclusively on the Barbarian Rancor.
