Master Vote-Arisa Yune [Masters Only]

Looking through the thread tracker, [member="Arisa Yune"] has an impressive number of threads overall and has participated in a fair amount of faction threads from what I've seen. I think she's due for a promotion.

Thread tracker is here

I vote yes.

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
I am on the fence, on the one hand yes she is active on the other however her work doesn't reflect it. In general her participation in some threads is minimal yes she is there and in some she can be active. Other times she will appear, not post then respond several weeks later. She makes a great effort but she also leaves things hanging or abandons threads to move on to the next thing she wants to do. As a person in the ooc I like her, as an IC jedi her attitude usually comes off as the all knowing one who can't accept others might have an opinion. Given her hiatus where she left the site for a time between getting knighthood and now makes the 4.5 months she has lost some chance for development. She just needs to work on her development, finish threads instead of dropping them and I'd recommend something that usually goes forward more to show her as a character over all fo the ooc talking about what she wants to do. It is one thing to say things should be done it is another to try and make it happen.

I would say not at this time.

Though I certainly haven't been active for a good while on the boards, I have seen Arisa put a good deal of work behind what she does. For me I haven't had much time to do much other than lurk over my absence(which was a bit unexpected due to real life happenings), I don't see why the way the character is portrayed should count against her.

I can understand the argument about working on the depth of her character, and trying to see threads through to the end. Sometimes though you simply lose your muse and drive for a thread and can't even come up with a good exit post, I know it happens to me plenty. Given the number of threads though, and the sheer amount that are faction based I would give Arisa a yes on the promotion.

I can understand your concerns about activity, but I've been more active since my return to the SJO earlier this year, participating in doms (along with submitting proposals) and faction threads that included skirmishes. I've also worked hard at recruiting members, and drumming up activity for our latest dom by getting four new people to post to it. Outside of yourself, I've probably submitted more codex and factory subs for use by the SJO more than anyone else active, which does take up some of my time. I do talk a lot about my plans, but to be fair, I also submit my plans on the board for review and criticism. Some plans don't come to fruition because there's no support for them, that's just how it goes.

A lot of the posts where I left you hanging were tech dev posts, which are honestly soul crushing as far as writing goes. I don't enjoy that format of writing, and neither did most of the board, which is why dev threads were effectively eliminated. Because of that fact, I've been able to focus almost wholly on writing threads from a story and development from a purely character standpoint, which definitely helps me stay on track. I really like what I've done here, and would like you to read through it (to be continued in a private thread).

As for other posts, I was just dealing with a lot having to manage the GR where I had a good portion of the board attacking the faction in one way or another. That was depressing, and almost drove me off the site. There was a lot of days where I just wouldn't login because I hated how nasty people were being, and it was causing me to become toxic in turn, which is what made me step away for a bit. I'm in a better spot now, and I'm really trying to keep up with things and push threads to keep moving along where I can.

On the IC front, Arisa is going to bump heads with a lot of your characters because she more open minded about accepting alternate ideas about how a Jedi should comport themselves, while also wishing to be more proactive in fighting Sith. She tries not to be judgemental when people slip up, and instead seeks ways to try to help them improve. She believes taking a hardline black and white approach doesn't do anything but drive away people, which has happened before. At the same time, she finds characters like Matsu hypocritical, because they like to chide other Jedi for acting a certain way while they themselves perform questionable acts. I'm sorry if you don't like the way I write my character, but I don't think that should be held against me.

How the character is portrayed IC has little to no bearing on Master votes for me whatsoever. My impression of [member="Arisa Yune"] is that she's a headstrong and progressive Jedi, which I think of as a breath of fresh air where Jedi personalities are concerned. Not everyone is going to get along perfectly and agree 100% with everything, and that's how it should be. It opens up discussions that otherwise wouldn't happen.

Arisa has been highly active over the last couple months and has done a lot for the faction, so it's a definite yes from me. :)

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
I can see both sides of both sides. But in the end, I have to come down with a decision one way or the other.

So, I say...
