Inspiring | Leader | PTSD | Vengeful | Survivor | Rough | Tactical

Mason Reznov from the outside seems like a roughed up, thick-skulled soldier. However, this is an inaccurate representation of who he really is. He has the mindset of a true, inspiring leader. Mason is capable of boosting morale of troops at anytime in battle/before battle. He tends to give patriot speeches, inspiring loyalty to his cause. However, past this inspiring leader is a darker side. Mason is very vengeful and rough/merciless. He's willing to kill whoever/whatever in the way of his cause, especially if that person has wronged him or one of his comrades. He has the "survivor mentality" where he is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure his cause survives.

Another reason the "thick-skulled" view of him is so inaccurate is due to how truly tactical and experienced he is. Mason has been through absolute hell, and learned a lot from it. He's good with strategy, and even better at executing said strategy. Like said before, Mason is a very excellent leader and a big inspiration. He's able to turn a small group of prisoners into a full out riot against an Imperial Detention Center, using them to burn the center to the ground. He often gives out speeches and advice before battles to help boost morale and troop performance. Mason has moderate PTSD due to his prison riots past and just general violence that he's been forced to witness. Flashbacks are occasional.

Overall, Mason's biggest qualities include his leadership capabilities and his willingness to do whatever it takes.

"The path towards our glorious victory has been a journey of blood and brutality. All of it has been necessary."

Strengths | Weaknesses | Traits

Experienced: Mason is extremely experienced having fought/organized many battles, riots, etc. This benefits him greatly, as he is able to adapt to situations with more knowledge.

Battle-Hardened: Over time Mason has become hardened to the sight of battle. Blood, death, gore, etc is nothing to him at this point. He is willing to go to extreme measures, and not even hesitate.

Loyal: Mason is extremely loyal to any cause he follows, and is typically willing to die or kill for it.

Hopeful: He never loses hope, and is always willing to fight to the last breath.

Too Trusting: Mason will easily trust somebody who has fought with him, even if it was just one battle. This leads to betrayals.

Underestimating: While his hope/loyalty to his cause is a good thing to most, it has a downfall. He often believes that his own will and belief in his cause overlaps his enemy's skill. This isn't always the case.

Biography

CHILDHOOD
Mason Reznov was born on Tatooine, in the Mos Eisley area. He didn't grow up in the safest, most sheltered environment, often being surrounded by illegal substances and criminals. His parents however, were hard workers. They did the best they could for Mason. He didn't get much education growing up due to lack of programs in the area, but he definitely got street smart. He began learning the areas of Mos Eisley that most didn't even know about. Tunnels, small alleys, etc. Mason began to know the city like the back of his hand. This would prove useful later on.

Mason's mother and father both worked jobs. Mason's mother was a waitress of a local cantina, while his dad was a musical performer that would perform on the sides of the street for tips. They made enough money to at least survive. Being a human, Mason had a rough time socially. He was often bullied and pushed away from the social groups. He got into a lot of fights because of this, and he started to get quite good. By the age of 12, Mason's mother fell ill. At first they thought it was stress-related, so him and his father just had her relax away from work. One day they both came home to find her dead. To this day, Mason does not know what it was that killed her. His father fell into a depression, but found a way to get out of it. He continued his music, except took it more seriously. Mason's father began getting more recognition, and every single day you could hear the sweet, harmonizing sound of his instruments from the streets.

This continued on for years. One day, rumors spread through Mos Eisley that Imperial Troops would be landing there soon to conquer it. Truly this had no effect on Mason, as he didn't understand the Empire or politics at all really. He found it boring. However, his father was outraged. His father went on rants regarding how corrupt the Empire is, and how the city will only get worse from this. Mason's father had gained a large amount of relevancy due to his music, so he had a little bit of influence within Mos Eisley. The next day after these rumors came about, sure enough, Imperial Dropships landed and hundreds of Imperial Troops flooded off ordering everybody back into their homes. Mason's father was horrified, disgusted, and angry. Mason kept to himself in their tiny home, but watched as his father created things like signs, posters, etc. It was clear he was going to start something. Mason was around 19 now.

The day after, there was a crowd waiting for Mason's father to be there to play his music. He finally arrived, but instead of holding instruments, he held signs, propaganda, posters, etc. He began passing it out all to the crowd. All of these items were anti-Imperial. The crowd accepted these items, most being disapproving of the Imperial presence as well. A chant began throughout the crowd, "Be Gone Imperials". Pedestrians and people inside buildings began joining the crowd after hearing the chants. Mason also heard this noise and came out. His father began giving a speech, which was one of the most inspiring things Mason had ever heard/seen in his life. This speech lasted roughly three minutes, yet empowered a movement to last years. His father finished the speech off with "Now, march! March on the imperials! Show them they will not take what is ours! Take back our port!". Everybody in the crowd began running through the streets, burning and trashing everything in their sights. They were rioting. Some rioters began taking out their weapons, and firing on Imperial troops and ships. The port was burning, trashed, and broken. These riots lasted for around 10 days and nights until Imperial backup troops arrived. These troops were for some reason hesitant to attack the rioters. Instead, a loud speaker announced the message, "ALL CITIZENS ARE TO REPORT BACK TO THEIR HOMES. ANYONE NOT INSIDE WILL BE KILLED OR ARRESTED.".

Mason was mostly hiding in his home during these riots, which was luckily unharmed. His father finally came home after these ten days as he was out rioting. They talked for a while, until Mason and his father decided to go to bed. That night, an Imperial special forces agent sneaked into their home and slit Mason's father's throat. When Mason woke up that morning and went into his dad's room, he found him dead. Mason broke down into tears, however this only lasted a few minutes. His tears vanished as his rage and need for vengeance grew in an instant. He got up and took a blaster rifle from his father's closet. Mason marched out of the house and gunned down several stormtroopers in the street. He ran over and grabbed one of their "riot speakers", a speaker given to troopers in a rioting environment. He held the speaker up to his mouth and pressed the button the side as he spoke. He yelled, "EVERYONE! MY FATHER, THE MAN WHO STARTED THIS MOVEMENT HAS BEEN KILLED BY THE EMPIRE. CONTINUE THE RIOTS! BURN THEM, KILL THEM! SLAY THE IMPERIAL SCUM! BE GONE IMPERIALS!". It was as if everyone was waiting for the moment this happened. As soon as the announcement ended, floods of people ran out of buildings with all sorts of weapons from furniture and supplies, to blasters. These floods of people filled the streets with yelling and chanting. Any stormtroopers in buildings, on roofs, or in the streets were slaughtered and beaten. "PUSH ON!" Mason announced using the speaker. The floods of people pushed through streets, slaughtering stormtroopers until they made it to one of the Imperial camps setup on the border of Mos Eisley. The floods of rioters pushed through blaster fire and decimated the camp and its troopers. Vehicles were taken, and now rioters had control over vehicles. These vehicles held the front of the gigantic march of rioters, as they pushed through camp by camp. The entire Imperial presence was essentially destroyed.

IMPERIAL DETENTION CENTER
Many rioters suffered injuries or death through the march and riots, but it was all a sacrifice. After all Imperial camps were wiped out by the giant riot group, Mason told them all to go back to their homes for now. As Mason was entering his home proud of today's events, he heard a whirring behind him. He turned around to see a TIE Fighter landing. As soon as he was about to run, the pilot had hit him with a shock blaster. The pilot picked him up, and threw him into the fighter's passenger seat. When Mason woke up, he was in a cell in cuffs. On the wall, was an Imperial logo. He knew what this was, he was in an Imperial Detention Center. Mason felt groggy, but got to his feet and sat on the bed nailed to the wall. He sat for a few minutes, trying to recall what happened until a stormtrooper guard banged on his cell. He told Mason it was time for his processing. The trooper opened the cell door and pulled Mason out of the cell. He was taken to the processing room. Mason's mugshot was taken, and he was given his orange jumpsuit with his special prison ID "2147". Mason was then taken to the cafeteria where most inmates were. He was given his tray of food through the line and he sat down at an empty table, still processing what was going on. He was only 20 years old. As he was eating, a large human came over to him and slapped his tray into Mason's lap. Mason stood up and wiped the food off his pants. He turned to the large man and shoved him. The man swung on him and called him fresh meat. Mason ducked and punched the man in the gut. The attacking man bent over in pain, Mason slid behind him and put him in a choke hold. Stormtrooper guards were in front of him and the man. One of the guards shot a shocking bolt at Mason but Mason used the man as a human shield. He threw the man into one of the guards and then tackled the other. He took the guards blaster rifle and switched it from shock to kill. Mason looked around and shot any guards he could see.

When Mason turned around for the entrance, a guard shocked him with their rifle and knocked him unconscious. When Mason woke up he was in a group cell with 11 other men. These men would become very useful in the coming years. All of the men were surrounding Mason, and when he woke up all shook his hand. They told him they had their respect for the fight he pulled in the cafeteria, and that he's got most of the respect of the prison. Mason knew he had to escape now, and that he could. He was told in processing he was charged with starting a riot and as a prisoner of war. He was on a life sentence. For the next 13 years, he made connections in the prison. He learned the designs, and people, etc. Finally, it was time. Mason was 33. One day, while everyone was eating in the cafeteria, Mason banged his fist into his table three times. When he did this, his entire table did it. Eventually, the entire cafeteria was banging their fist into their tables three times in a chanting manner. This was a signal to a stormtrooper guard who was ready to betray the Empire, that became friends with Mason. The stormtrooper traitor switched his blaster rifle to kill when he heard the banging. He walked to the security management room, and opened the door. Inside were several officers and troopers, he gunned down all of them. He hit the button which would unlock all prison doors.

All prisoners in the cafeteria got up and began fighting the trooper guards and overpowered them. The prisoners ran through the halls of the prisons, slaughtering troopers and taking their weapons. Fires were started and walls were collapsed. Mason ran through the staircases until he reached the roof of the detention center. There, stood an Imperial flag. Mason ran across the roof to the flag, and ripped it off the roof. He threw it off the building into a fire. Mason slid down a nearby ladder until he was outside of the center. He ran over to a nearby starfighter and hopped in. He hot-wired it and flew off. As he was flying, he looked over and saw the prisoners looking up at him with clear respect. He flew off away from the planet, and to Tatooine.

RECRUITMENT
As Mason arrived back on Tatooine in Mos Eisley, he saw it amazingly. His riots legacy lived on, as it was clear the Imperial presence was gone. He stepped out of his starfighter and entered the cantina. When people saw him, they cherished him. He was given free drinks and applauded for his riots which had lead to the freedom of Mos Eisley. After a long night of drinking, Mason would return to his father's home. He'd sit down in his reclining chair, and rest. He'd look around, and suddenly get flashbacks to the waves of prisoners slaughtered by guards during their prison riot. Mason would shake his head, and the flashback would go away. On the table in front of him, he'd see a holopad.

He'd pick up the holopad, and a notification would appear. It'd read an invite for him to enlist in The Republic Remnant's army. He hadn't heard much about them, but he knew they had to align with his values if they were keeping tabs on him and gave him this invite. Mason would then fly to the nearest Republic Remnant military installation, and begin his service. After several months of service, he was noticed by many High Command. Mason was contacted about his past being admirable, and that they wanted to move him into special forces. Mason gladly accepted.
