Born to Marsos Urstalis, a Morellian Enforcer, and Renea Urstalis, his wife, Lia was the second of four siblings, with one older sister (Amerial), and a set of twins that were her younger sister (Orena) and brother (Orell). By the time Lia was a toddler, Marsos had discovered there was something special about his second daughter, in that their travels from point A to point B went by faster with her in his lap, teaching her the controls of his scout vessel. At the same time, this was a welcome distraction from the changes he and Renea were considering - his becoming a scout for the Republic, and giving their children a more galactic education - and which they decided to take up.
On their way to their new home, disaster struck in the form of pirates, who boarded Marsos’ ship and killed everyone but Lia before a Warden of the Sky interrupted their spree. The pirates rounded up and unconscious, the Warden, a Thyrsian Jedi Knight by the name of Sosu Jaireth, coaxed Lia out of hiding, as her terror made the scout vessel take a blind jump. When Sosu witnessed this, the wheels in his head started turning rapidly, and a comm from his Master asking what had happened laid the route for Lia to be enrolled as a youngling.
At eighteen, Lia had been steadily training as now-Master Sosu’s padawan, officially, for ten years, though he kept a hand in her youngling training from the time she was brought to the temple, but now was missing. Despite all her efforts, Sosu Jaireth was unreachable, doubtless wrapped up in something that demanded his silence, and has not been heard from in the handful of years since. Despite knowing what was likely the case, she couldn’t help but feel alone, even amongst the crew of the Republic vessel on which she served as a navigator; she took her leave of the frigate to which she was assigned, wandering on the knowledge she had both as a Jedi and a neophyte warden, to attempt to seek him out, to no avail.
The intervening years took her through service with the Fringe Confederation, and on to further education in piloting and the like at the Levantine Astronautical Academy at Oswaft Station, which lead her to the acquaintance of another warden, who further broadened her skills in that area. After this time, and a brief stint amongst other Jedi, she took to patrolling the spacelanes, alone once again, and now a twentysomething knight, as new as Sosu was on the day he found her...
