STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:

+ TACTICAL MIND
Trained within both the basics and habits of military life, as well as undergoing further training since his 'induction' into the Sith Empire's Legions, Marric has rapidly picked up on the tenants of tactical-level command and the various benefits and risks when operating in multiple environments, while under varying conditions and constraints. While no second coming of Thrawn ('Seriously, how the heck does someone make the logical leap from someone's freakin' ART COLLECTION to the random chances of battle?!'), Marric knows - and can pass on - enough about himself, his command and his objectives to ensure that the bloody day's work is done with as minimal loss as humanly possible.

+ LOYAL UNTO THE END
While convinced that loyalty to a cause or individual has to be earned (and not automatically given, outside of the necessities of military decorum), those who win Marric's loyalty and trust will find in him a loyal ally and companion. For those few, Marric will go to whatever lengths are deemed necessary to accomplish their shared objectives.

~ BENEVOLENT OCCUPIER
Despite knowing - however grudgingly - that he's in the charge of a government and Empire with a notorious streak for brutality and worse, Marric does his utmost to streamline the transitional phases before and after the invasion of any world. While not a cog in the political machine, he will regularly instruct his soldiers to treat the occupied world's citizenry with dignity and respect, resorting to summary punishment should any of his Legionaires break ranks.

Unsurprisingly, given the cavalcade of dark-siders, card-carrying Sith acolytes and harsh-governing military officials that make up his Legion's upper rungs, Marric's approach has not won him any political favors among the 'upper brass' - a disdain he returns, in private, when word of the next massacre reaches his holo-communicator.

- LEADS FROM THE FRONT
Determined to oversee the tactical developments engulfing his unit in the various warzones - as well as to inspire and lead his men and women by direct example - Marric's approach to warfare can allow his direct input into an engagement. However, this is offset by the extreme risk he'd expose himself (even a well-armoured M-AAG can be shot down!) to enemy fire, as well as loses him much of the wider strategic picture.

- POLITICAL INDIFFERENCE
More focused on the running and well-being of his command, Marric is only interested in galactic politics and inter-Sith rivalries insofar as they'd affect him personally and the wider mission of his command. Machiavelli, he is not.

BIOGRAPHY:
A former citizen of (what had been) Obascus City in the now-defunct Fel Imperium, Marric had devoted himself to Fel Imperial service by enlisting in the Naval Legions as an officer-recruit. His early career would see the young Ensign work aboard several vessels (primarily in Gunnery) before eventually finding himself on the fast-track to the higher rungs of junior rank.

The falling out of the Fel Imperium's disintegeration, however, threw all prospects out the window. His ship caught in one of the final titanic battles that saw his beloved home-space crumble, and with no other options for survival, the then-Lieutenant desperately took over a battered and mostly dead-filled command bridge and ordered his Star Destroyer on a random hyperspace vector. Said vessel - 'N.L.S.D. Marasiah Fel' - jumped out into the void ... and out of (seemingly) all knowledge.

For his part, Marric does not immediately recall how he came into first contact with the Sith Empire; all he can recall is vague flashes of someone barging onto a battered and lifeless command bridge, hours of interrogation, and seemingly little sign as to who his interrogator was. Whoever took an interest - he or she always seemed to work through intermediaries and other soldiers, responsible for securing him - , however, saw fit to preserve his life, as Marric found himself given an opportunity to serve a new Empire in the farthest known corners of space: the Unknown Regions. Stuck between the asteroid and the black hole, Marric reluctantly accepted his mysterious benefactor's proposal.

Over the next two decades, Marric would transfer his knowledge and efforts from the art of void warfare to that of surface war. An apt student - and with more then enough crucibles for Aurelius to be forced to learn his craft the hard way - he quickly found himself having to grapple with both the nuances of Army combat and command, as well as having to deal with both the many benign and malign beings that inhabited the Unknown Regions. Eventually, however, his benefactor was recalled; whether due to new-found loyalty to his backer or whether he simply was not fully ready of navigating the pitfalls of this new galactic power on his lonesome, Marric dutifully followed after.

Now the commanding officer of a recently administratively-formed company of veteran Legionaries from the Unknown Regions campaign (209th Company), Marric is both eager to put his hard-fought-for skills to use - as well as to find out who, exactly, had been responsible for a survival that should otherwise never have happened ...
