STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Marque finds most computer systems, and their operations, intuitive. Complex operations are often simple matters for him. His expertise on computers lies mainly in the world of networks and systems, like the HoloNet and other connected devices. He is adept at navigating and extracting information from the HoloNet, a task commonly referred to as slicing, and with a bit more work and additional time, could secure or destroy a system.

Marque is very self-reliant, he tends to work alone. He derives distinct pride in solving challenges on his own, and feels that others tend to hold him back more often than not. It is a true sense of trust when Marque will rely on someone else with no conditions (such as a contract) to keep them in line. That said, Marque shows little modesty and will happily brag about his latest accomplishment to anyone who will listen.

Marque uses slicing as his anti-drug, but it is more of an addiction for him than he will admit. Without an avenue like slicing, he resorts to social advances against the opposite sex by some urging beyond his control. Marque isn't acutely aware of the Zeltron physiology that drives him so, and as a result he is constantly in a subconscious tug-of-war over his own self-control. This also presents as constant anxiety, wanderlust and a general feeling of discomfort, driving Marque to newer and higher challenges or thrills.

Marque doesn't really have much of an ideology or sense of loyalty. He doesn't feel swayed by emotional arguments as much as rational ones, and very few governments in the galaxy have him convinced to their point of view. That said, he will work for an organization regardless of their ideology, so long as they provide enough of a challenge for him. Payment in the form of credits is also highly desired. When the challenge or credits runs out, Marque is more than happy to move on.

APPEARANCE:
For a species of wild hair, brightly colored skin and revealing clothing, Marque doesn't stand out much. He may be tall, but he's not particularly tall, his build is moderate and not substantial or underwhelming. His hair is a dull shade of brown, and kept in a short, wavy hairstyle without much extravagence. He generally adorns modest clothing of muted colors, which has the unfortunate consequence of making his magenta-toned skin stand out even more.

BIOGRAPHY:
Zeltrons are supposed to be concerned with having fun. For the child named Marque on Zeltos, it was apparent from early on that his idea of fun was just...weird. Marque had a fascination with the way things worked, from computers to mechanical components. It was small things at first, the innards of a wind-up toy, the data connections for a datapad, the power routings of the household cleaning bot. Marque soon found himself in trouble at school when he disassembled the recess droid and reprogrammed it to grant an extra five minutes of recess every day. His parents, concerned about their child's welfare, pulled him out of public schooling and arranged for a private tutor.

On the days without a tutor, Marque was enlisted to help with his parents' business, a hologram operation. At first he assisted with motion capture, but eventually his parents realized his talents lay in the editing room. Marque seemed a natural with the computer, splicing in cuts and clips in a few minutes that would have taken his parents hours. From then on, he was given full access to their equipment to tinker as he liked.

However, as Marque's talent with holographic work and editing increased, his appetite for school decreased. His parents began to worry, and restrict his time working. These measures did little to impede Marque's interest in anything but his schoolwork. With little time to parent their wayward child, Marque's decided to entrust him to a private academy who would provide his schooling and board for a substantial fee. So it was that Marque was enrolled in the Silverleaf Academy for Fine Young Males on Denon.

At Silverleaf, Marque's schedule was strictly kept, and he lamented the lack of time for exploring his side projects. Still, the school did its job, and he became more attentive to his studies. By his third year there, however, the school began to teach their students a rudimentary programming class, and Marque latched onto the course with all his intellect. With renewed access to materials and time he could purport to spend on coursework, Marque began to, once again, experiment and explore the depths of programming and tinkering. He soon discovered a way to access the broader HoloNet from the school's connection, and found a wealth of resources on new techniques for slicing.

As an adolescent, Marque began to explore the HoloNet and exercise his programming skills there. He began to admire an underground slicing group, Incognito, who used slicing as an activist tool to take down HoloNet sites that fell under their crosshairs. Marque discovered several message boards discussing the take downs and explaining the methods, which he used in an experiment of his own. This landed him in dire trouble with the school's administration, who tried to restrict his access to computers.

Having grown into a flirtatious boy, Marque's advances toward the female staff members increased during this time. At first they were dismissed as the hormone-induced fantasies of a teenaged boy, but his Zeltron genome compelled him to push further. He discovered that he could sometimes sense what someone else wanted, making him seem spontaneous and increased his successes. This went on until the school suspected that a younger female staff member was growing too careless around Marque, and realized something had to be done. A staff member suggested allowing him access to a computer again, and the suggestion was attempted.

Marque's interest in the opposite sex waned as he was allowed back onto the world of the HoloNets. With the proper carrot to motivate him, Silverleaf had renewed success with Marque's academics. Still, Marque became restless as he grew older, becoming flighty and impatient. He found pleasure in slicing, certainly, or in flirtatious hints dropped where he could to the opposite sex, but nothing seemed to quite satisfy him. He began to look for bigger challenges on the HoloNet, dipping into the darker and seedier sections of the network.

It was this exploration that eventually became too much for Silverleaf, who decided to expel him from their school. While waiting for pickup, Marque decided not to return to the home he had left nearly ten years before, and disappeared from sight. He promised himself he would go back eventually, but first he had to find himself. He had to find a purpose for his life.

And then someone dropped a little black book into his hands.

SHIP:
Nope. He could probably hack into one, but it better have a pilot droid or it's going to be a short ride.
