Public Market Time on Dathomir

When there was a gathering of Witches, Brooke made sure she was in on it. Dathomir called to many, some native to the world, others not so much. She fell into the latter grouping. She found the world later in life, when the Jedi and the dark side were not part of the path for her. She carried the weapon of one, but it didn’t matter. She wasn’t of that life.

The blonde had landed her semi-sapeint vessel of hers amid the ruins of one of the castles on the world. It used to serve as a seat of power in the Witch Kingdom of old. Nowadays? It served as a location for Witches to meet, share knowledge, share supplies, and discuss their world. It was an ever changing and growing market, with stalls and Witches passing their trinkets.

Even off-worlders arrived, their ships parked a respectful distance away, and guarded from the likes of some of the Witches who would prefer to steal rather than barter.

Brooke came with some trinkets from off world. Precious gems, stones, seeds, things that could be cultivated on the world, or items to be used in spellcraft. The blonde smiled as she surveyed the market. Children running around, and laughing, not a bad thing. The challenge was, when the Nightsisters came in, it could be only a matter of time until things went south. But for now? Brooke was going to enjoy being back among Sisters.

It did not take long for a Nightsister to arrive. A young woman, covered in the crimson, form-fitting robes of a younger witch. Zorya Bohyne was strangely at peace. Returning to Dathomir after bekng out in the greater galaxy felt like bathing in water to remove filth one accrued in their travels. It was refreshing. The pale young woman circled the stalls, looking at the various wares. She was Dathomirian, in the sense that hers were Zabrak-blooded inhabitants like Talzin or Asajj before her.

"These are beautiful." She comments, gently inspecting one of the gems at Brooke's stall, "This one in particular would be a worthwhile focus for casting."

Despite the fact she was a Nightsister with duskblades sheathed at her sides, and a folded up lightbow on her back, she seemed strangely friendly. Zorya had grown up being raised to be respectful of the other tribes. They were, in fact, all daughters of Allya. It was the outsiders to be worried about. After turning the gem over and over, Zorya smirked.

"How much?" her accented voice asked, "I have offworlder credits. And a small bronzium ingot."

For the fifth time since leaving Abbaji Inik tried to disable the auto-navigation. Jameris ship was venerable in age but still in decent condition and Inik was interested to find out first hand what it was capable of. He accessed the mainframe through the engineer portal and started searching for the controls to shut down the system.

No more than two queries into his hunt the computer denied him access and locked the interface, a picture of Jameris with his eyes rolling around and tongue sticking out expanded to full screen and through the dash speakers all he heard was, "Ha ha ha, ha ha ha, ha ha ha, thought you were gonna get me didntcha? Ha ha ha, ha ha ha."

"Typical," Inik muttered to himself, already beginning to grow accustomed to his new mentors odd sense of humor.

It was of small importance anyways, the Lone Wolf had already breached the atmosphere of their destination and began its descent through the clouds towards the surface of Dathomir.

It had been a while since Jameris had showed his face and seeing as how his presence was not necessary for the landing procedure Inik decided to go find out what the old man was up to and prepare for arrival.

Suprisingly, even to himself, returning to Dathomir brought joy to Jameris heart which he found somewhat strange yet calming. Every previous trip to Dathomir had felt like attending a butch feminist convention. However, this time he could sense something different. Something alluring.

Jameris stroked his long snow white beard and quirked his eyebrow, mystery had pulled his mind into its space, he loved a good mystery. The thrill of the unknown to come, the excitement of unraveling what the future holds. Even being a decent foreteller, it was still exhilarating to think there was something he was not ready for heading his way.

It reminded him of the days of old to be active again....

She was more than happy to meet with the others of Dathomir and show them the wonders of worlds long rumored to them. The traditionalists scoffed at her, but she had the blessings from her own clan’s elders that she was in the right. Expanding the planting of Blue Coral, learning more skills of the Force and bring that home to the Blue Coral Divers. It was held in open knowledge but in guarded scrolls so that it could not fall from the Divers to others. They’d have to learn it another way.

When a Nightsister approached, the Farseeker of the Blue Coral Divers smiled. There was not any ill will towards any one Nightsister, just when they came calling for her own clan. War was an equalizer and a separator. The blonde tucked hair behind her ear, unlike the Nightsister before her, her family was from off-world, and the semi-scales under her skin would shine almost blue in the light of the sun. “Thank you. Honestly, they were found on a… little trip of mine.” Brooke smiled.

No need to share that she was out tomb raiding for lost knowledge.

“Cost depends on what one you’re considering, and what you’re planning to do with it.” She added the second with a bit of a laugh, clearly joking.

The Dark Lady’s shuttle piercing through the coral fog of clouds into the heart of Dathomir. she had found the Nightsisters and their unorthodox path intriguing in her studies of the properties of Dathomir. She had come to acquire some talismans and gems to use in her new experiments.
The Shuttle’s wings folding like a bat of black upward as it took it’s place beside the other offworlder vessels. The ramp was smoking as a figure in black robes began to descend, golden locks descending out of the black of a hood like falls of the sun. She could feel the mysterious essence of this world, the cauldron from which the Witches drew their power, the life giving Ichor.
In her research, the Witches of Dathomir possesed a unique connection to thier magicks, just as Shamans of the Whills and other sects that did not fit within the prism of the Jedi Dogma and Sith Covenants. Chrysos did not bother herself with fearing what dwelt outside the tradition of the Dark Side, for the lesson of the ancient Sith was that they embraced a “larger view of the Force,” to try and box it in with thinking was to stagnate and become like the Jedi. No, if these Witches had something to offer, a unique glimpse of power, it behooved this Dark Lady to learn; for all power was the object of a True Sith.

With each step she made her way to the Market, taking notice of booths with burgundy canopies, on the wood was all manner of gems and trinkets that were native to this world. She stopping to look at some Zabrak horns fashioned into a crude mace or scepter, she levitating it into the air as she examining it more carefully. Her mind did recall that this world was from which heralded the most infamous Zabrak Sith Lord, Darth Maul. Perhaps she could derive something from horns to help make her creations more menacing, inspiration struck at the most unusual of times. It was duty of a Sith to strike terror in enemies and make the masses understand the horrors of life. Perhaps this would serve as some sort of seed for her next project. In fact, she wondered if it was true about the Zabrak, that they were isolated to a different corner of Dathomir. She might have to pay them a visit and recruit some specimens…
